Edward Norton and Tim Blake Nelson to team up for a "comedic thriller" called LEAVES OF GRASS?!?

Published at:  Dec 05, 2007 2:35:04 PM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. This project sounds batshit weird... in a good way, of course. Tim Blake Nelson will write, star in and direct LEAVES OF GRASS alongside Edward Norton who will play identical twins, one being a professor at an Ivy League college and the other being a hedonistic pot-smoking career criminal.

Variety describes the movie as a "comedic thriller" but gives no more information on the plot or tone. I love Tim Blake Nelson's character actor work and I can't wait to see what this flick turns out to be.

Would dear queer ol Walt's poem be used in this manly comic adventure?

    This writer hopes so

    Walt Whitman?

    by rawtuna

I assume this is in some way connected to the book of poems by the same title. I don't see how.

I always thought Edward Norton should do more comedies. I think he has a talent for great timing.

    Come, Said My Soul

    by kevinwillis.net

Such verses for my Body let us write, (for we are one,)
    That should I after return,
Or, long, long hence, in other spheres,
There to some group of mates the chants resuming,
(Tallying Earth's soil, trees, winds, tumultuous waves,)
Ever with pleas'd smile I may keep on,
Ever and ever yet the verses owning--as, first, I here and now
Signing for Soul and Body, set to them my name

Kind of Short for a Movie

    Norton back to comedy? SWEEEET!!!

    by spencertrilby

His hair was AWESOME in Red Dragon!

Seriously though, he should do more comedies. Keeping the faith was mediocre, but it was a first feature. And it starred Ben Stiller. But Norton was excellent in Death to Smoochy (yeah, I watched it) and his comedic skills were obvious even in darker material like Fight Club and The 25th hour. Plus, I dig Tim Blake Nelson. I hope the script is worth the team-up.

I seriously wondered at the Whitman connection

    by live.

Thus was confused at the plot summary. Will there or won't there be a connection in the movie? If not, this desperately needs a title change.
