AICN EXCLUSIVE!!
NBC To Air The Last Completed JOURNEYMAN Episode After All!!
I am – Hercules!!
This just in from “Journeyman” mastermind Kevin Falls:
Journeyman Fans--
NBC has decided to air the 12th episode ("Perfidia") on Wednesday, December 19th at ten o'clock. That means our 10th episode will air on Monday the 10th ("Home by Another Way"), the 11th will air on 17th ("The Hanged Man").
The decision to air the 12th episode had a lot to do with the passion of our fans through SaveJourneyman.net, the online petition and letters and emails to NBC executives.
And is it true you can vote once a day for the People's Choice Awards?
There's still no news on our long term future, but we can promise you this: three terrific episodes inside of ten days. Oh, yeah, and you'll get some answers, too.
Your comments and pro-active attempts to save the show are very much appreciated by me and my fellow Executive Producer Alex Graves, Kevin McKidd and the cast, writers and crew. But more importantly, it's working.
But don't rest. We need you. We want a back nine--and beyond.
Thanks again,
Kevin Falls
NBC is paying attention! Hopefully this bodes well for NBC picking up "Journeyman" for a full season (WGA permitting)!

I will give it a shot

You've got a good show, and we know it. Hopefully you'll get it too.

The show has gotten better. Though the physics are unrealistic, it is actually becoming entertaining.
-
This should NOT be about the executives doing a favor for the small, afflicted segment of the fanbase, this should be about the executives recognizing that this is a GREAT show! NBC should recognize that, as all the talkbacks are saying, that this show actually gets BETTER every week. They took a merely interesting idea and made it intriguing and then addictive. 1.) NBC should order a full season of this show, 2.) NBC should move this show to a more primetime timeslot to capitalize on a great product. It's better than 95% of everything else out there.
-
Make some noise! Let them know you're watching! These people only look at Nielsen ratings, they have to become aware that there are a lot of people DVR-ing or downloading the show. Wouldn't it be great to get a few more episodes?
-
5 faces are then shown a moment later; Nathan, Matt, Claire, Hiro, - and Elle. Two of those 5? <p> Killing off Elle = Portland T-Blazers picking Sam Bouie in '83 NBA draft instead of Jordan. Don't do it, Kring. Resist scratching that itch. Cap Maih-ja or the New Orleans crew. Leave Elle alone.
-
Quantum Leap 2 can suck my balls.
-
Someone must've gone back in time and undid this mista..<p>Good show, I hope it lasts.
-
WTF is with NBC-Universal? Whether it's going half-assed certain DVDs that have sold well in the past (Dune etc.) not backing BD, shows like this one or Galactia getting shafted, or the future fiasco with The Tonight Show, you guys just seem to kind of drop the ball IMO. I guess it's good you kind of correct mistakes once in awhile, but...just don't make them in the first place eh? Don't you know quality when you see it? How about getting behind your product more often/sooner? And yeah, I'm pissed you closed Back to the Future: The Ride fuckers
-
This is good news.<p> Xiphos, you mentioned sports books somewhere else and I forgot to tell ya...the Hilton Sports Book was just recently remodeled. It's the best in town now.
-
Now go full season or KETCHUP SANDWICHES!
-
I am super stoked on this news, and am hoping and praying for a full season order. Also, I think we should all pat ourselves on the back... people like Pennsy and Xiphos who are in every Journeyman talkback supporting the show. God, this is a great show.
-
Great start! And now...<p> FULL SEASON ORDER, FAMMIT!
-
And the cast, and all the writers for a great, intelligent, thoughtful show that reminds me why I watch scripted television in the first place.
-
This is a show with depth and feels like it will work beautifully if it's given the chance to spin it's tale over a few years. A lot of other shows feel like 'concept' shows, but this feels like a story.
-
like, I'm supposed to say "thanks" for that shit. Yeah, the box looks pretty, and yeah, it's better than the last one (thanks for the long-ass wait too btw), but most fans know there were better extras on the the Euro-versions that could have easily been included here. So, it's kind of a fuck/thank you. And the new Flash sucks. That shit is supposed to replace BSG? And btw Universal has a long history of fucking things up dating back to at least the old Galactia...rushing it into a weekly TV show when it was supposed to be a series of Telefilms, then canceling it for costing too much. Horrible new TV-edits of it, Dune, and worst of all THE THING. And from what I can tell, seeing the mis-handling of poor shows like Journey-Man here and loads of other shit (including closing B2TF-TR) Uni shows no signs of stopping teh-suck. Long time and continuing...bitches. Yeah, I know, I sound like a bitch-ass fanboy...eatme

THANK GOD NBC WOKE UP!! FULL SEASON!!!!

Numero Diez already aired this past Monday.

This is like asking for a steak and getting a burger. Sure it's beef but fuck, I WANT A FULL SEASON!

Someone get this ball rolling!
-
Where'd the Aspirin thing come from?
-
This show deserves a renewal, the whole shabang, whole new season, more episodes, the works.
-
and they are advertising that it will have a new episode next week in Jouneyman's place after Heroes. Oddly enough they will then burn another brand new episode on Wednesday. With the strike still on, I'm surprised they are not rationing out the new shows more.
-
FOUR Journeyman talkbacks on one week. It takes Pushing Daisies goour weeks to get four talkbacks. I don't think Chuck has had four talkbacks yet. And I may have lost count, but I'm not sure Reaper or Saving Grace have had any talkbacks ever. <p> "No no no, nothing is impossible. Illegal, maybe; stupid, most definitely, but not impossible." - "SocK" Wysocki, "Reaper".

awesome...

This is a start!I still won't rest until we get our full season!

FULL SEASON!

Dan gets a headache before he "Journeys."

Gotcha. Ketchup's much messier, though. We can send the aspirin after a couple weeks of cleaning up sloppy tomato-soaked Wonder Bread. They'll need it.

It's like a poor man's Quantum Leap, but I am enjoying it.
-
of course I was bent when at first when I heard it was replacing Battlestar Galctica. But it was like Star Tours only instead of a flat-screen it was an open-roof looking out onto a dome-IMAX screen, kinda of like the one at the Reuben H. Fleet Space-Theater in San Diego's Balboa Park. If you haven't been to either of thos places you don't know what I'm talking about. It was a pretty realistic ride though, it could have used an update maybe. But the main thing is it's being replaced with something really lame as I recall....don't remember what it was exactly, but it was tard

"Fammit"?...<p>Seriously? We're doing this now people? "Fammit"? Jesus, I'm getting too old to keep up with this crap. I give up.<p>Get off my lawn.
-
And Journeyman, best show on TV right now.
-
The is perfect anchor to Chuck and Heroes. It's hard to believe that a network that is supposed to be about excellent drama can keep Bionic Woman and flatline Journeyman and Friday Night Lights. I also like the idea of his Rome co-star doing a guest spot. Pullo rocked. And the two are great together.
-
'Fammit' was just a silly typo we found amusing. Relax. We'll get tired of it in a few days.
-
And I'll vote again tomorrow if it's allowed. This show needs to be recognized.

Does that site have the worst goddamned 'Security code' things or what? Jesus Christ, it took me 3 tries to get one I that I got right.

If you heaven't been there yet, here's my Save Journeyman site: http://SaveJourneyman.funurl.com We're trying to set up a bulk Rice-A-Roni capmaign similar to the Nuts for Jericho campaign. Hopefully it will be off the ground soon.

Sweet...glad my explanation didn't fall on def ears, or eyes in this case. Oh, and thanks for your service. Cheers

Some times a short series with a definative end is better than one that goes on for years and years.

I have access to the internet and I can find out where all of you NBC fucks live. Don't doubt that you'll be walking out of your lovely houses to find a billion ketchup sandwiches all over your lovely lawns and cars. And I'll throw one in your stupid faces too.<p>Keep Journeyman journeying!

That's cool that Kevin Falls is writing back to the fans.
by polyh3dron
I can't remember the last time a showrunner took the time and/or had the balls to speak directly to his/her fans about a show of theirs on the bubble like this. Thanks for keeping us up to date and I know your employers/financiers don't exactly encourage that kind of thing.
-
It's a moral fucking imparative. This show gets better and better each week. It's grows exponentially better each and every week. Bionic Woman does not even come close to this much growth towards excellence even if the show clearly has found a focused writing staff. Nevertheless; this show could explode giving the word of mouth and given the time to grow. Oh yeah UNIVERSAL... YOU MAKE MORE CASH WITH 22 than 12. Make the right decision... SAVE DAN VASSER... ONLY YOU CAN!
-
Yes; I am cursing. Excuse a brother -- NBC exec assistance -- for adding some emphasis to my statement. This show has grown leaps and bounds each week. I have seen countless movies this year and BLOWBACK -- no pun intended -- blew them away. This show must be saved. IF it's not saved. NBC gave up on the best show that they have had on the air in years.
-
...I have one word:<p> Leroy's.<p> PAX JOURNEYMAN, BITCHES!<p> fammit.<p> That is all.
-
Keep applauding. I'm in the kitchen right now, spreading ketchup over a thousand pieces of bread with my passport sitting next to the microwave.<p>To quote The Limey: "Tell them I'm coming!"
-
should read "NBC To Air The Last Completed JOURNEYMAN Episode After All Other Shows Ever Made Have Been Run! Twice!"
-
He is one of those actors who can pull a brilliant performance out of any script. Plus, his American accent is pretty solid. Unusual for a Scot to nail it.
-
sorry, that is good news.
-
I think that Heroes has been so lackluster that it has caused people to switch over after, thus reducing the audience for Journeyman which is clawing it's way back through word-of-mouth.<p>One of the best loved British programs ever made is Only Fools and Horses, which was well into its third series before it really started to become popular. Unless NBC are losing money on this show, they should have the nuts to keep it.
-
Very good pilot, then the next 3-4 episodes treaded water. I almost left, but I'm glad I didn't because it's become a fantastic show in the last 3-4 eps. Everything jumpstarted with the multiple present-day subplots: Dan's brother growing closer to the truth; the FBI investigation; Dan's contacting Elliot the science guy.<p>That said, I'm worried about it's future. If they drop the present-day subplots (brother on board now, FBI investigation gone...only thing left is the HOW/WHY question) then it will go back to being a boring "save-a-person-of-the-week-show." I really hope it can keep up the momentum, but they really need to introduce more overarching plots and mythology ASAP.
-
Does anyone else think Kevin McKidd sounds a lot like Ray Romano?
-
ilikedonuts - no.
-
Now NBC bitches!
-
Makes me happy in pants. Good job NBC. HOWEVER, bad news for BSG fans: http://tinyurl.com/38y4c9 Ouch. I really blame the torrent version for this one.

I would think that sending asprin bottles is a little more catchy than rice-a-roni...
-
I would think that sending asprin bottles is a little more catchy than rice-a-roni...
-
now the media can write about how dorks saved the show!
-
I can understand the decision to stop airing a show after 3-4 episodes. Some shows just have zero potential and do nothing but bleed money with no hope of recovering. But airing 11 out of 12 episodes, with the 12th episode answering the questions kt created and not airing the last ep would've just been very bad PR for NBC. Especially since it's a show that shows potential. It would've been like saying F-you to the viewers and reinforcing the imagine in people's minds that Suits are money-grubbing, bean counting, insensitive, uncaring, heartless, zero ability to make the right decision, couldn't tell the difference between a good show and a bad show if it hit them in the face, dumb-F's. This decision has restored a little faith.
-
Executor, I don't think the FBI subplot line is gone. I don't think they built that up just so the guy got shot and everything is over and done with. Remember, that money line was a setup for something bigger. Just because he might be dead, doesn't mean he didn't have a secret boss he reported to, etc. Heck, remember this is a time travel show, maybe we'll still see the FBI agent again.<p> I think one major setup for the show is what happened to Dan's father. That could even be the equivalent of Mulder's sister on X-Files in terms of Journeyman's mythology. (Remember, the "science guy" knew Dan's father... that wasn't a coincidence)<p> I'm kinda glad the brothers are now on the same team so we can move on to some more interesting stories.
-
...I'm really enjoying some of the new shows this year. Particularly Journeyman and Pushing Daisies. The acting and scripting in Journeyman is absolutely perfect. While the over-arching plot in Life is very interesting, the procedural du jour is only passable. Not so with Journeyman. NBC, you have a quality show made by some incredibly talented people on your hands here. Please don't cut it short. Hearing that Journeyman was renewed for the full season, and beyond, would be almost as good as hearing that FX renewed Damages for seasons two and three.
-
NBC and the networks have been saying F U to viewers for years cancelling great series that for whatever reasons didn't get great ratings. Just about every year there's some show that gets cancelled that makes me just about want to never invest in a new show again. Then there's always something that comes along and makes me change my mind :) I think the sad thing is the way things are these days I'm sure a lot of people check out of shows simply because they don't think they'll end up making it so why get involved? That being said, it would have been SO stupid for NBC to not air shows already taped DURING A STRIKE. Can you think of anything more moronic?? SOMEONE at NBC must have a brain though because they ordered full seasons for Chuck and Life. Now I like Journeyman -- but I am the only person I know who is still watching it -- it just isn't going to make it sadly. I think Journeyman's doom are the characters -- it is well acted and written, but the characters just aren't that charismatic -- they don't grab you and make you really identify with them. Contrast that with Chuck and Life and their extensions and Journeyman's lack of make more sense -- almost all the characters on Chuck have a lot of charisma. And Life -- I have to say Life is my favorite new show of the season, which is unusual because I usually don't go for cop serials, but the show's main character and the 'who set him up' plot has definitely sucked me in in a way that Journeyman hasn't.
-
At least give 'em french fries with them.
-
I say keep it, it's gaining so much momentum each week. Keeping in mind how much crap NBC shovels on air, to cancel this show would be idiotic, to say the least. And that reminds me, remember when a show was given a season, maybe two before they yanked it? If it's not an instant it now, so long! At the very least NBC could sling it over to Sci-Fi... of course then it will get royally screwed a la BSG, so whatever.
-
...we need a second season. I'm know that between seasons I can turn people onto this show by use of the dvds but I'm having a harder time convincing people to jump into the middle of it. With all the shows leading towards serialization vs. stand-alone I think the networks need to consider putting out single dvds--every four episodes release a dvd. That would make it so much easier to jump into a show. It would be kind of equivalent to the quick release of trade paperbacks in comics.
-
Katee Sackhoff smacked down rumors of trouble between her and Michelle Ryan on the Bionic Woman set; somebody who attended a BSG/Stargate convention swore she dissed Ryan and said things on the set were a 'clusterfrack'. <p> http://tinyurl.com/3d4nga (someday there's going to be a book written, probably, on where exactly this show went so south).
-
and yes i support the physics on this one!. great news. thank you NBC, now full season , and lets get that dvd pre-order link on amazon sorted please. <br> keep on spreading the news about the show to your friends, word of mouth definately works, and more and more folks are tuning in. this weeks show was excellent. the show is getting better and better, lets keep the momentum going on this one!</br> <br>lastly, thank you AICN for supporting the show!"</br>
-
I've been enjoying Journeyman so far. It's not groundbreaking tv or anything, but it's a solidly entertaining hour with likable characters and a cool time-travel theme. I can't pass up likable characters and time-travel, so I'm damn happy to hear I will at least get to see the 12th episode. Can't wait for some more answers!
-
And we're still waiting on Journeyman? I know it's different networks, but it's still indicative of the pure stupidity that dominates network TV. Dirty Sexy Money is one of the shittiest shows I've seen in years. Who's fucking idea was it to bring back the primetime soap opera? Jesus!
-
Interesting parallel, because it's doing the polar OPPOSITE of what Journeyman has done. It's gotten progressively and gratingly WORSE as it has gone along, showcasing more and more of its WEAKNESSES rather than its strengths, and has gone absolutely cold creatively, culminating in last night's dead THUD of a reveal about Brian's paternity, which EVERYBODY ON THE PLANET had already guessed. The dynamic between the twins was a bit fun and had real potential, so what do they do? They've been separated while the guy (I don't even know the character's name) does the right-out-of-a-sitcom shtick of pretending he's poor. AYFKM? Yeah, I actually liked the pilot quite a bit, but this show sank fast.
-
I would take back 75% of the "fuck yous" that I said to NBC. Really.
-
I think Mr. X was just saying a slightly dyslexic version of FULL SEASON ORDER NOW, FAMMIT!
-
Is it settled, then, that Journeyman's numbers have been slowly growing each week? Was there no fall off last week? I hope that's true but I am a little concerned as to what a week off might do to the momentum.
-
We need one NBC. Put it on whenever and wherever you can. You do that and I'll have everyone I know DVR that mutha.
-
I misinterpreted. <p>Fuck you NBC. That one's for free.
-
I was still holding out hope for it as late as a couple of episodes ago, but last night's was the pinnacle of dreadfulness. There was an exposition-happy scene last night between Sutherland and Krause that was so poorly written, it might as well have been improvised. They decided to show Dutch in flashback last night, and every scene was the most completely predictable tripe completely devoid of dramatic tension whatsoever. Krause is starting to look lost. Blair Underwood's not sure if he's supposed to be playing Mark Cuban, Ted Turner, or Lando Calrissian. It's a mess.
-
Journeyman = Smith. Great show, too smart for people. Smith didn't get half the chance JM has. Fammit !
-
I'll see if I still have my old cell phone charger from '99 and send that to NBC.<p>I really enjoyed the BTTF ride the first time. I sat in the front of the car. The second time I went I was in the back and on the side. Kept bumping my head which wasn't as much fun.<p>Can't fault ABC for giving Dirty Sexy Money a full season. I have been enjoying it. I did notice (haven't seen last night's yet) it not being as good the past few episodes. Hopefully it will get a second wind and bounce back. Besides, if ABC can renew October Road then anything they do doesn't surprise me.

at least we get some sort of ending if they don't order a full season. Please no lame cliffhanger at the end! Also, NBC ORDER A FULL SEASON! Thanks.

i have taped journeyman, and just started watching it when i was home sick the last two days. I like McKidd and wish ROME would have lasted, but it's nice to see him onscreen again. Was trepidatious about it being canceled before I caught up on my taped shows.

gives absolutely no artciles on journeyman whatsoever apologies.. for the confusion over my demand for a full season order!
-
there's a chance that more new shows from the 2007-2008 season will come back, even if they're ratings challenged. That's the way I understand it. Because of the strike it's forced the networks to push back their production of new shows for 2008-2009 which means they'll need already established shows to air next year.

There HAS to be a better place for Kevin McKidd on American TV. It's really galling that the *wrong* gingery British actor has a better show -- namely Damian Lewis on "Life." AUGGGH. I watched the first two episodes of "Journeyman" and was disgusted by the weak supporting cast and the derivative premise. McKidd deserves so much better! I'm a huge fan of his for years (have been since "Trainspotting" and "Topsy-Turvy," which you have to see if you want to hear his fabulous tenor), and after the terrific "Rome" ended I was so excited at the prospect of his coming to US network TV. What a disappointment. There's a reason the ratings suck for "Journeyman" - much as it pains me to say this, it's a terrible show.
