Wanna Free iPod Video Nano? A TIN MAN Boardgame? A Tin Man Comic Book?

Published at:  Nov 28, 2007 2:55:38 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... Sci Fi Channel has an original Miniseries, TIN MAN set to debut this Sunday, December 2nd at 9 Eastern/8 Central. I know next to nothing about this upcoming show... other than poking around their website, but I've always found OZ adaptations to be fascinating. My favorite being RETURN TO OZ - while my nostalgic fave being, of course - the Judy Garland classic. BUT - I still hold that we've never seen Baum done right. I'm not saying or pretending to hope this will be that. It won't, but I'm curious to see what they have planned for TIN MAN.

Now we've got some cool prizes to give out. Specifically: iPOD 8gig Video Nano - in a groovy pale blue casing. We've got TIN MAN BOARD GAMES - which look pretty damn cool and will actually probably be a pretty damn neat collectible. And then the TIN MAN comic book.

SO - here's what you have to do. This is a quicky contest. Using YOUTUBE - upload a video of you (or a friend) in your HOME MADE Tin Man costume (can be just a head shot or a full body deal) singing "If I Only Had A Heart!" Videos will be judged on costume design (either funky fun or damn that's impressive), on musical sincerity and lastly bonus points for Choreography. And lastly - just how much fun you're having with this. But you don't have long....

Videos are due by THIS SATURDAY - December 1st - by Midnight. Send me a link to your YOUTUBE video and you could end up with one of these AMAZING prizes!!! It could be You!!

WTF? You guys couldn't just do a random drawing?

    by spyguy

Noooooo, you have to have to make a video, in a Tin Man costume no less, and upload it to YouTube, thereby leaving out a good chunk of people who visit this site.

If you're one of the Dancing Tin Men on YouTube, however, more power to you I guess...

Free $200 toy isn't worth 40 seconds of fun?

    by headgeek

Don't you have someone to win this for? A daughter, sister, brother, son, wife, domestic partner, etc? Of course, you could just work 2 days in whatever job you have - earn the cash and pay for it. OR - you cover yourself in Aluminum Foil and sing with a camera on. Time: 30 minutes - top. Unless you have a job that pays $400 an hour... then, yeah - why have fun trying to win something for someone you love (or your own personal satisfaction?)

    But first...

    by frankiepitt

There needs to be a contest in which the prize is a video camera of some sort. Then, I'll need somebody to show me how to upload content from said camera onto YouTube. (I'm over the age of 17, so I have no idea how to do so.)

    Nice prize, though.

    Is AICN insured

    by napoleon park

in case someone has that Buddy Ebsen disease and the tin makeup kills them? Also, when the results are announced, will you post the links to the winning 9and losing) videos so we can all point and laugh? Also, does anyone else remember the comic book "Oz Squad" that reinvented the goin'-to-Oz-gang as superheroes? That was one stylish funnybook. I always felt Morrison's run on Doom Patrol owed it a nod.

    Wasn't Tin Man

    by napoleon park

a Star Trek Next Generation villain?and will they use the America song "Tin Man" as their theme song? And get David Bowie band Tin Machine to do the music?and did they pick this name because of the Iron Man movie? And, yes, I would like a tin man comic book. Just not enough to sing for it.But this does sound like a clever idea, he said hopefully, knowing full well how often shows with good premises failed to reach their full potential.I know the title's a pun, but do kids now days even know what a tin can was?

    Kubrick's SHINING...

    by thegreatwhatzit

is undiluted narcissism; a nice X-ray of Kubrick's ego, mediocre movie. As for this whole OZ thing, remember it's the Sci-Fi Channel. Expect the inevitable: lousy CGI, giant snakes and Lorenzo Lamas.

    Remember The 'Submarine-Zombie-Zooey' Rule

    by skoobyx

Any film featuring a submarine, a zombie, or Zooey Deschanel is worth watching.

    It's proven true every time.
