‘What The Hell Have You Done??’ Penultimate HEROES!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!
Raging controversy!! Some deemed last week’s episode a wonderful return to first-season glory while others contended it continued the suck.
The thing that bugged me the most was Elle couldn’t or wouldn't use her lightning lass power on Team Bennet until her hands were free. Were I Noah, I would have dropped Elle off unconscious and soaking in a 55-gallon drum strapped to a Lecter-dolly. With the business end of a shotgun duct-taped to her sociopath skull.
(But I don’t understand half of what Noah does. Did we ever learn why he took the job at CopyKingdom?)
Another thing I would have done? Elle, released to Bob’s custody, should have immediately stripped off every stitch of wet clothing so she could zap the cheerleader.
Also, why can West spirit Noah to the skies in one scene but can’t manage the same trick when Noah is sitting on top of him?
One smart thing producers did last week was revive Noah minutes after he died. I’m guessing a lot of us saw that resurrection coming as soon as we saw the Mendez painting in 2.1.
To recap:
CLAIRE. Called her dad a giant liar and announced her refusal to flee Costa Verde.
BOB. Captured Claire.
NOAH. Captured Elle.
HIRO. Zipped back a week to rescue daddy Kaito, then changed his mind, then learned Adam killed Kaito.
MATT. Practiced his Jedi mind tricks on Molly, partner Bryan and Angela.
MOHINDER. Put a bullet in Noah’s eye during the big Elle/Claire trade on Imperial Beach.
PETER, NATHAN, SYLAR, ALEJANDRO, MAYA, MICAH, JESSIGINIKI, MONICA. Sat last week out.
NBC says:
Nov. 26
2.10 TRUTH & CONSEQUENCES
Peter travels to Primatech Paper in Texas with his new friend to destroy the virus, which will kill 93 percent of the world's population in the future -- or so he believes. Niki returns to Micah with bad news. To right a wrong, Monica puts her abilities to the test while Hiro goes after his father's killer. Meanwhile, Matt uses his mental abilities to track down the last person in the company photo. In addition, Nathan learns his brother is alive. Outside of New York, Maya must choose between Alejandro and Sylar.
Wait a minute, didn’t Nathan learn his brother was alive three or four episodes ago? Unless they’re not talking about Peter …
Dec. 3
2.11 POWERLESS
Deep below Primatech Paper in Odessa, TX, Peter's reunion with Nathan turns violent when the brothers, Matt and Hiro all clash thanks to Adam and his pursuit of the deadly Shanti Virus. After watching his heroic cousin captured by a street gang, Micah turns to the one person who can help him save Monica -- his mom. Meanwhile, Maya tragically learns how much of a monster Sylar really is during his kidnapping of Molly and Suresh. Meanwhile, Elle decides to play hero to get back into her father's good graces.
2.11 is the likely second-season finale.

The last few eps were a step in the right direction, i just hope they maintain it for the next two...
-
First?
Not that it matters, last week was good, but if this is the penultimate episode, this will go down as the worst second season ever. -
that's one of the BIGGEST PROBLEMS with this season. whereas last season, they would show you something pretty shattering, and then the episode would end, now they show you something like that, and then show you the outcome 80 seconds later. WHY?the best part of season 1 was all the speculation about what was going to happen (or what actually happened sometimes). last season they would end with Noah on the ground dead. maybe we would all be thinking he'd be ressurected, but at least it would be out there. They are constantly dropping bombs this season, and then 2 minutes later saying, "oh don't worry, it's alright". wait a week!! let it marinate!!Heroes is still good TV, but it seems to be coasting a little bit at the moment.
-
...on Adam/Kensei, that is!

...on Adam/Kensei, that is!

...
BadMrWonka: agree with most what you're saying, though i think in the case of the resurrection that they wanted to take advantage of the momentary shock of the viewers at the immediate sight of the death to make the dramatic effect of the ressurection stronger, whereas if they'd have waited a week or few, it might have "lost its touch" in a sense - not that it would actually be less dramatic IMO, but that they thought it would, hence the end of ep return to life. At any rate, at least they're learning gradually from their mistakes, so it would seem, which is more than can be said for many shows.
Here's hoping that el wonder twins finally head down the road to doom, or at the very least partial sylarization, which seems might occur tonight... -
Was supposed to mirror the Claire/Autopsy Table scene in Season 1. Anyhow, it's truly embarassing how many plot holes this season has had. I hope that the writers strike is resolved so we can get the 2nd half of season 2. Hopefully the writers will get it right next time.
-
as someone said last week, with all these healing and time travelling characters, no one important will die.
And there's a difference between answering questions quickly and within two minutes or whatever it was to show that HRG was alive, which was in itself a cop out to these paintings of the future that they throw in our faces, only to twist; they're basically like previews for the next week when they try and fool the audience, except that these happen several episodes later instead of the following week.
I'm still not sure why the company didn't taken Adam's blood either, but hopefully they'll get around to explaining that. -
And not even a hooked viewer, but seeing "so and so sat this episode out" - i'm seeing pretty much every major character from the first season sitting things out.
Isn't that a bit unusual? Or just shit? -
The way that Hero works is that one or two of the stories would sit themselves out.
This season has been pretty damn entertaining for this Heroes fans. However Herc is particularly picking nits.
In the exchange between Noah and Bob, BOTH girls had to be up and walking under their own power. Hence Elle was allowed a lot more freedom than she should have been. It was a misjudgment on Noahs part.
And while I agree that Noah resurrection may have come at a strange time-they may have reasons to do what they did. -
Mr. Muggles is the evil behind the scenes. Now that he has consumed Claire's missing toe he is nigh immortal. NOTHING can stop his terrifying conquest of mankind.
NOTHING!!!!!! -
..After watching his heroic cousin captured by a street gang, Micah turns to the one person who can help him save Monica -- his mom.
Haahahahahahahhha, if those characters weren't sucky and boring enough now they get involved with Street gangs, ooooh. If this was the calibre of writing we could have expected then thank god for the writers strike.
I too thought last week was still in suck mode. Other than Parkman getting better no character or power has developed at all, most have regressed. /me boooos at Heroes -
flipped the channel and watch the replay of Dexter during heroes..thats what.
-
Because, at the moment, all he's done is thrown himself off a building with Hiro's dad. Which, I guess, is a very villainous but I'm just not getting a proper 'bad guy' vibe from him. This show needs some good villains. They're heroes, after all, and heroes need good villains. I wanna see Adam break a random kids neck, torture people and just generally be nasty.I guess releasing a virus which is going to kill most of the world is pretty bad-ass but he almost seems too nice for such a scheme. If Mr Kring ever read a comic book, he'd see what real supervillains are like.I guess what I'm saying is that Adam doesn't appear to pose that much of a threat.
-
Too much football this weekend. But I should still be watching this tonight.
-
The problem with Heroes is simple. At the risk of mixing metaphors, the show blew its wad in season one and painted themselves into a corner. They gave two characters, Peter and Sylar, absolutely god-like powers that would literally put every comic-book hero ever made to shame. Between them, they can stop time, teleport, insta-heal, fly, perform telekineses, read minds, shape shift, move through objects, use super strength and a million other things; as if that wasn't bad enough, they can also continue to pick up abilities indefinitely. How could the writers possibly create a more interesting hero or a new, more threatening villain?
I think one can see how this mistake led to all the problems of season 2. They had no choice but to pursue retarded ways to take away those abilities; Peter gets a pathetic case of amnesia, while Sylar gets inexplicably neutered. Meanwhile, every new hero now seems boring in comparison. In terms of the epic feel of the show, there was just nowhere for the story to go but down.
The only way I could see them getting out of this hole is by somehow linking the Chanti virus to the existence of Peter and Sylar's power-absorbing abilities. They could then plausibly write out those story-handicapping powers by saying all such heroes need to be sacrificed to save mankind. As much as like the characters, Peter and Sylar need to go if Heroes is to be viable again in season 3. -
I liked last week's ep, the first one this season that seemed to have some chops. But I worry that the weakest elements - twins, Monica - will suck any momentum out of the story tonight. We'll see. For the moment...I'm cautiously optimistic - but expecting not a lot...
-
On any 'going down' stuff. :)
-
You mean hopefully second-season finale -- so they can take some time off and find some good writers for season three next fall.
-
Trust me, I know I'm right about this.
-
I've been brainwashed to be in. How can one pull themselves away from a show that at least shows promise? I just want to see what happens. I can look past all the non-believable "why didn't he/she do this?" scenarios, but really, I've just been brainwashed to "tune in" next week, "for the exciting conclusions on Heroes!" Somebody please help me!
-
You're right. Don't try and make sense of it, there isn't any. Heroes has some of the most inconsistent concepts around. I still think they should seriously trim the cast.
-
Elle v. Claire. I don't want Elle to turn babyface just yet. After she deals with her and West (and crispy-critters him, maybe?), she can put 2 and 2 together and realize Bob's not Father of the Year material.
-
I can't stop laughing at "Telemundo Twins". :D
-
Get rid of that creepy douchebag and 90% of what is wrong with this season goes away. However, I think the criticism this week is weak. Why doesn't he fly when Noah is on top of him? I don't know...how can my girlfriend pick me up and carry me around when were standing, but can't get up when I'm on top of her? Two totally different weights and preassures. Why didn't Elle zap them right away? Who cares, she's killer hot. Plus Noah just told her that her own father tortured her and made her crazy when she was a child. But if we're going to criticise electric powers, how is it elle can control electricity, hold a balls of electricity in her hand...but yet still electrocute herself when wet? THAT doesn't make sense. And the reason we all know Noah wasn't dead isn't because we are all super geniuses...it's because the death didn't match the painting so it couldn't have been predicted. Every other painting in Season 1 and (so far) Season 2 have exactly matched the reality. In this painting, Noah is shot, at night (it seems) and clair appears to be kissing somebody in the background. However what actually happens is Noah gets shot in the daytime and Claie and the flying guy are long gone. So either that wasn't what was predicted, or the show has screwed up again. But I agree, the show is nowhere near as tight as last season, and has tons of issues. But I still enjoy it.
-
Because that's what she is...Crazy Jane from Grant Morrison's DOOM PATROL series. I gotta say, though, an episode with Parkman using his telepathic powers to go "underground" into Niki's mindscape and interacting with her various personalities could be pretty damn cool if done correctly.
-
Problem solved.
-
Has anyone else suggested that the future that Peter went to was not full of dead bodies killed by the virus but they were all killed by Sylar with Maya's power.
-
Just like real painting? Say it ain't so! I wonder if there is a forum out there where people fight over what a paining means..*looks around* Oh..
-
X-men works better as a serial and Heroes has always sucked.
-
None of the original group seem all that powerful anymore. Ma Petrelli, Hiro's Dad, Claire's mother, Linderman, even Bob, all seem kind of burned out. The only one who seemed tough was the the Nightmare Man and he was taken out fairly easily by his son.
-
I truly don't get much heartburn on this show. Last weeks was Ok I guess. The highlight must be, and I am surprised it wasn't mentioned, Elle laying out on a lounge chair in a bikini. Gives the show an automatic four stars alone.
-
DEXTER is a show that hasn't slid in the 2nd year but gotten even better. Last night kicked so much ass It was like Ep 4 Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica in terms of a 'Did that just happen' moment. Thrilling. Damn you Herc and AINC for shutting this show out

In Season One when we learned HRG's background (with the invisible man as partner) and watched in rapt attention as he begged the Haitian to wipe his memory ("Go Deep") to protect his daughter and family. Nothing in the rest of season one and certainly nothing in season 2 has come close to the level of that episode, both in terms of advancing/expanding the mythology and in terms of the writing/direction/acting/editing, etc...
Last week was good...it explained a few things, had one stellar line ("stings like a bitch")...but...I'm at the point where I'm starting not to care. Really. The cheerleader has turned into a whining brat. Send her ass off to military school. Her character can only be redeemed for me when she gets into a seriously shit hot KILL BILL style bitchin' catfight with the electric girl. If that happens and they do it properly, the season may be salvaged. -

I saw a scroll on G4 that said Chapter 3 will be called "Exodus", but I missed much of the post show. Did they give any details other than that? Did I just read the scroll completely wrong?

Hopefully the writers and AMPTP will realize both are staggering toward an abyss that will do them both in and pull back from the brink before the rest of this season is done for. :(
-
...Is not controlled by Sylar. It appears to be "out there" and spreading rapidly. It appears to be Maya's virus power spreading on its own in the future. The comic book so far has not come into conflict with the continuity of the TV show and vice versa.
-
I can run, I can give someone piggy back rides, so naturally I should be able to give someone a piggy back ride while I'm flat on my stomach, and they're twisting my arm and all I can concentrate on is the horrific pain. Yes, I spotted a PLOT HOLE in my inabillity to give piggy back rides!
-
I agree with the other poster about the plot holes. It is getting really bad. If Hiro can stop time to see Adam is his father's killer, he better be able to stop time and catch him the second his father is killed (since he has to let his father die for whatever reason).

Other than for Battlestar Galactica, I think all of these shows
by prof. pop-cult
I know I'm in the minority here, but actually I'm sort of relieved by the possibility of only having a half season of shows to watch (and keep up with). Ultimately, perhaps this strike will change the way network TV series are produced. I think we're at the point now where it would make the most sense (for everybody involved: the studios, the networks, the advertisers, the producers, actors, writers, and viewers) if 13 episodes became the standard full season order for a scripted series. That way, the quality of the writing could be better per season, and there could be more original series produced. (You would have two shows that occupy the same timeslot: One in the Fall, and the other in the Spring.) It really feels like a chore (for me at least) to keep up with 22+ episodes every season. The major broadcast networks should do it like the way the cable networks do it.
-
And do what with him? Adan is invincible?
-
According to the rules which they've set up regarding time travel, Hiro can't stop Adam in the time before he returned to the present and gotten the bad news from Ando, at risk of disrupting the continuum, changing the present and future.
-
That was apparently The Company's front-end business. He would have been able to access some executive materials over time, which is why he manhandled his dorky manager early on, so he could do some sneaking around without getting reported. That's what I *thought* the plan was.
If anybody couldn't see that Adam killed Hiro's dad from a mile away, they haven't been paying attention. I knew he was the killer as soon as Hiro stole his princess and he went all rogue on Hiro. -

This shows ressurected itself with the last 2 episodes
by theycallmemrglass
Not that I ever threatened to abandon the series but I did share the general feeling that the second season was below par the standard of the dirst series. One thing is for sure - Noah Bennet is one Badass MF and has not even got any superpower. Definitely he is the biggest asset of the show - lose him and I reckon they'll lose a chunk of the audience. This whole wrapping up the series half way sucks big time though...
-
In the first ep, Kaito is waiting in Kirby Plaza for Hiro to return. Ando, carrying a newspaper, bumps into a bearded Nathan in the street. When Kaito opens the paper, the death threat is inside. Easy for Nathan to slip it in the paper.
-
Too short. TV did have 36 or so-week seasons in its infancy, 22 now...I don't want to wind up emulating England, with their 6-episode miniseries-es. Just not ready for that yet.
-
When drunk Nathan fights with his mother in the apartment (when he calls her evil and tells her to get out), she finds a her death-threat pinned to the wall in the hallway. Nathan was the last person to enter the room, last one in the hallway. Easy for Nathan to pin the threat.
-
Kaito dragged his attacker over the edge of the building, but there is no body. Easy for Nathan to fly away.
-
I realize they showed Adam's face, but Nathan DID take Adam's blood. Perhaps a shape-shifting side effect? Kaito had an affair with Nathan's mom. It could have driven his father to depression and give Nathan a motive... Or not.
-
...i'm not sure where they are going with adam, but i think it's his blood that actually causes the virus, not stops it. And why is Hiro the only one who seems to conveniently lose or get his powers back? Everyone else is learning new techniques for their powers except Hiro. I think the only way to stop adam the immortal is if Hiro learn how to cast time-stopping 'bubbles' or zones that he could literally trap Adam in one indefinately.

If so, I'm betting Bob goes King Midas on 400 Year Old Elle Humper. Or maybe Peter does, using Bob's power, once he realizes he's being duped.
At any rate, something excellent needs to happen with Sylar and the TTs very soon. I'm also curious how they managed to get from the US/Mexico border to the outskirts of New York within 24 hours of "episode time"...unless tonight's episode takes place several days to a week after HRG got popped.
Very curious to see Parkman's further development tonight as well. Maybe his tracking down the broad who wants to be left alone will result in some Old Guard power usage? -
I think they can only do one good episode per year. And it's tough not to notice that they get good when they focus on fewer characters per episode. I hope that plague does hit and takes out almost all the new characters(except the ones in the company) and a few of the old ones as well.
-
I haven't heard many theories as to why there are characters with essentially the same powers.
from what we've seen, Adam and Claire's powers are the same. The company also wanted both of their blood. Is one a virus maker and one a virus cure? are they somehow related?
How does a flying guy and a trailer trash pyro make an indestructable baby?
Nathan and the flying emo kid...it's a fairly weak power, but they both have it with no other obvious side benefits. A power of mere plot convenience, coincidence, or more? relation? that would make claire and Emo kissing siblings or something.
HRG and flying emo boy becoming best buds. Okay so they begrudgingly buddied up because they both love Claire- well, Emo never asked HRG just what the hell he ever abducted him for in the first place, and HRG never fessed up and apologized either. Because to explain what the company is doing would be too easy. so let's avoid it.
Claire and emo shot out of sky: fall down go boom. Even with Emo falling on top of claire- that was pretty fucking high for him to not be seriously injured, or for her to have gotten up so quick. She should have popped like a pinata and pulled her self back together T2 style, right before Emo's shocked eyes. he'd never look at her the same.
linderman: who and why? there's been no mention of him whatsoever. did he have a power? who is he really? Until they re-introduced an imprisoned Adam, i thought linderman may have been a slowly aged Adam- seeing as how he had Hiro's sword, and are both light eyed english dudes. i can imagine the phase-shifting brain squeeze being enough to kill Adam as well.
Maybe linderman WAS an Adam that slowly aged over the centuries and came to power, and the young Adam in present time (imprisoned for 30 years?) is one that Hiro goes back to old Japan for (for some reason- revenge? justice? a cure?) and teleports into the future (30 years ago), somehow unkowingly doing some work for the company? -
..that would mean that there are two adams in roughly the same time period. Young Adam (in company prison) Old Adam/AKA Linderman running the show......or maybe Linderman is Adam's son? i feel the two are connected.
-
(fuck the unediting posts)
the symbol of the linderman group was also Adam's old japanese mark- duh. -
is warping my fragile mind, man. If you thought Nathan was the killer, how did you get around the "Angela clawing herself" part? My theory, she discovered Nathan killed Kaito, and confessed to protect her son.
-
is Adam's son. I'm casting my vote there. Linderman's mom? Rachael Ray
-
Word.
-
How the haitian caught the virus? I missed that. One minute he's punching the snot out of Peter, wiping his mind, and leaving him for dead in a shipping crate (as a 'favor'); and the next minute he's in Haiti refusing to be cured. Wha-Happen?
-
Everyone now . . . CLAIRE GOTTA EAT!!
-
You could say Sylar's power is like Peter's, only he has to kill the other person to absorb a power.
well, didn't mohinder's dad tell him he did not have a power? was it a lie? if he never had a power, than who was his first victim he got a power from? was is only power unzipping people's heads? what shit is that? does he eat the brains? pick them apart? how exactly does the power transfer go about? they need some more background there, we've all taken it at face value too long. -
oh yeah, see i forgot that because they've basically swept mention of him under the rug.
gee, maybe laying on hands is something that the self-healing Adam would pass down genetically or learn over a long life. -
yeah- i was just about to say- Sylar worked in season one because he was very 'X-files' at the beginning. we didn't know who he was or how he did it. now we know him, sometimes sympathize with him, but we still don't understand his power to kill and take power. Why the head unzipping (you know what i mean) but seriously- what else can he do with that finger an inch away from stuff? peel fruit? open a CD wrapper? He'd be great at christmas.
-
...a lot of the other bullshit on TV. My wife watches America's Next Top Model for crying out loud. Granted, I find myself constantly wondering what's happening in the Monday Night Football game, but I'd still pick Heroes over anything else on in the same time slot.
-
being able to understand how anything works by analyzing it. By seeing the brain, he can rearrange the areas of his mind to integrate and adapt the new ability.
-
to continue an acting career before Peter can make another Fergie video.
-
ha- kinda like i said about Hiro trapping Adam in a bubble of still-time (hiro really needs to learn some new abilities, btw) like someone just said- it'd be funny if the only way to keep adam (or sylar, for that matter)from doing whatever it is that he's gonna try to do (whatever, i still think he's a good guy and there is good reason to pick off the oldsters)- would be for hiro to keep bumping him forward in time. You can't hurt the present if you are fucking up the future, and when the future comes that adam suddenly materialises, you bump his ass up again.
Personally, i think an immortal trapped in a frozen time zone would be quite torturous and ironic. -
I didn't hear one person complaining about last week's episode. I only heard good things.
-
They killed Linderman in the finale of season 1. They've mentioned him twice in this season. Once at the beginning of the season when Bob tells Mohinder that they're rebuilding the company in the wake of what Linderman has done (re: trying to blow up New York) and once when they say Linderman was a disciple of Adam's, which supports your idea that Linderman is Adam's son. There's no way that Linderman could be an older Adam b/c they've already established that Adam's ability allows his cells to regenerate thus preventing him from aging. With that said, does that mean Claire will remain a teenage forever?
As for Sylar, Mohinder's dad couldn't detect a power in him b/c he hadn't absorbed any powers, same reason Mohinder couldn't detect powers in Peter. And we find out how he got the powers in the episode "6 Months Ago" in season 1, when Sylar meets a guy with telekinesis and smashes him in the head with a sculpture and than (as Xiphos said) figured out how to make his brain perform the same powers.
I hope that helps, I know with all the pointless storylines (cough* twins, micah, monica, ginikkica*cough) it gets hard to pay attention to the details of the storylines that matter. -

Better villains, cutting out characters, what's the deal with th
by bigmick
As was said before, this show does need some excellent villains. But season 1 did have an excellent villain in Sylar, only they placed him in a lame storyline this season. Losing all his powers seems so cliche. (As is Peters amnesia).
They really need to cut out some of the characters like the twins, micah, monica, and wes. I say keep Nikki but get rid of her personalities, b/c Ali Larter is hot and the show needs a character with super strength. Keep Peter but find a way to get rid of his ridiculous amount of powers.
They should just tell us what the deal is with the Company, it's quickly turning into a cliche of "The Other" from Lost. And frankly getting tiresome: are they/are they not evil?
The fact that I've used cliche the amount of times I did in this post just kind of shows how much of a cliche this show is becoming -
I thought it was her plan was to make HRG think he was making a trade for Claire and then once free turn around and shoot.
-
**** (loses a star due to its Baltar-free status). Good stuff, loved "By Your Command" and the ship landing on Kara's.

Sorry for another post, but I just found this talkback and I've been bottling up these comments on Heroes for so long, haha.
The general consensus seems to be that the second season is seriously lacking and just not up to par. I totally have to agree, the first season wasn't great for the first half but picked up the pace in the second half. This season seems to be doing the exact same formula and it just doesn't work in the second season. There's no reason why these people will still be struggling so much with their powers, they should all have a good handle on them by now.
With that said, I'm still gonna see the rest of this season through, and hopefully the last 2 episodes make up for what we've had to sit through the last few months. But if they don't come out with a bang in the 3rd season, I don't think Heroes is going to make it to Spring of 2008. -
Matt's Dad was giving her visions or whatever he does. Remember, he was working for Adam. Xiphos - I agree, HRG doesn't need to give anyone an explanation or excuse. He is too bad ass to care. I agree with you. I miss the cliff hangers this season.
-
season 1? did you? why are you asking these retarded questions?

was holding a gun to Elle's head the whole time and she knew she was going to be released, I know she has lighting powers and everything, but would she risk it? Waiting for the right moment was probably the smartest thing for her to do.

i watched season one- but i enjoyed the ride, really only ever watched them once through, don't own the set, and don't consider myself a superfan at all...
but i'm pretty sure we can all agree about plot holes and things that need to be answered before they get carried away and we forget to ask the right questions.
so perhaps some of my questions are stupid to those of you that have this shit memorized and have a hayden calendar and a sylar lunchbox and shit, but i consider myself only slightly more caring about the show than the average viewer at home, so if i'm confused or forgetful, it won't be long before america tops giving a shit about hereos. :/ -
claire just needs to kill her ass already...what a shitty actress!
-
was linderman really planning on blowing up new york?
i thought he was just buying isaac's paintings so he would know what would happen. In the end, NY didn't get mushroomed, so isaac's paintings were not always accurate- aka- the future can be changed. plus, the only things that would have made NYC explode were the nuclear guy or peter by absorbtion...did linderman choreograph them meeting- i don't remember.
the telemundo twins: obviously a life/death ying-yang theme going on. maya kills and her brother gives life. they've always been together to keep it in check. does the brother die and maya become uncontrollable? if sylar kills and takes both- do the powers negate withing him? i say somewhere down the line, peter runs into maya's brother, absorbs 'life' power. Sylar doesn't seem to care or be fully aware of the brother's life powers- so maybe he kills him without taking. Then he kills maya, and can't contol the new power-
enter peter to save the day again. -
Hiro is his own father
Maya and Bro adopt a purple monkey
Adam is sent for far back in time by Hiro, he truly becomes 'Adam', and that way Elle isn't the only character with a bad Pun name based on what she does.
;)
-
thanks for reminding me without being rude about it-
guess i should rewatch before i go slinging theories around! -
Linderman et al. knew what was going to happen, but they didn't know how. They were not behind the explosion; they were behind the conspiracy to take advantage of it.
-
other than 'nightmare man' and linderman's healing touch and bob's midas touch...what other powers of the old crew have been revealed?
mrs. petrelli only spoke to the cop mentally because she knew he could hear her....so that's not her power. If they ever hinted at hers i missed it...and Hiro's pops...
and do we really believe that HRG is one of the only normal people that worked for the company? how pissed would you guys be if he ended up having had a power he kept in the dark? though I imagine he would have shown it to Claire at some point during any one of their bonding moments... -
I imagine he would have shown it to Claire at some point during any one of their bonding moments...
-
I can't stop!!!
-
Flying boy could pick up HRG man because he had momentum. When he was flying with him, he told him he couldn't hold him much longer because he was heavy. When HRG was on top of him, he had no momentum to pick up the much heavier HRG. Physics and gravity and stuff like that.
-
Angela Petrelli - some kind of mental ability similar, she can use persuasion on others like she did with Nathan's wife, she helped Peter with memory recovery, and knew Parkamn was reading her mind
Kaito Nakamura - somekind of super fighting ability, he was very skilled with a sword and was able to train Hero very quickly.
Charles Deveaux - we know he can appear in people's dreams even after his death, as he did with Peter -
ELI LINDERMAN - heal with touch & cooking... JIMMY JOHN PETRILLI - super-speed & bagging GILF's. ANGELA PETRELLI - mental suggestion & GILF-iness... KAITO NAKAMURA - Freezing powers & business-savvy... BOB BARKER - Alchemy & producing babes... MAURY PARKMAN - mental fuckery & pie-eating... CHARLES DUVEAUX - time travel & pleasing that booty... VICTORIA PRATT - future painting & character name stealing... ADAM MUNROE - regeneration & bi-lingual & sexy.
-
Free copies of the Viva Laughlin Complete Series DVD for him and all his friends. That'll learn him. ;)
-
Xiphos: It was good, thanks. Hope you had a good one as well.
-
Fry West...or fry Alchemy Bob and hook up with Adam? And what about his 'moment of weakness six years ago'? Does Elle, of all people know a weakness that the rest of them don't?
-
petite blondes.
-
I submit that if Ando has the power of !Awesome! then Noah has the power of BADASS. All caps, no exclaimations and a period at the end. What does everyone think?
-
Per TV Guide's Ausiello Report: http://tinyurl.com/366n4r. As much as Chuck has been a ratings albatross (as opposed to Deal or No Deal leading into Heroes a lot better when it was on Mondays). Can't believe I just said that, but the numbers don't lie.
-
...cuz i'm spesh like that.
-
...to follow.
-
Early ElleBell sighting!
-
..the writers are obviously tipping Peter towards the dark side. But there's only two episodes to go now...(I'll get back to this point in a second)Now, as a poster above me pointed out, Peter's power level is going to cause / had already caused problems. The only ways out of this is (a) to reduce his power level somehow (b) make him a bad guy so the other heroes have to deal with all of his powers.Okay, now they've already used option (a) at the start of this season and it was, I think most of us can admit, a bit lame. Now they're going with option (b). However, Peter turning to the dark side in two episodes is definitely not enough time. He'll most likely have some sort of fight with Hiro tonight (I'm guessing, having seen the trailer) and will probably be redeemed in the final.A storyline like that needs MUCH longer to develop. Having Peter as a bad guy is a good idea (if only temporarily of course) but it's something that should have lasted an entire season. We should have seen Peter team up with Adam in the early stages of this season and then seen him take on several of the other Heroes in episodes 3 - 11.But I'm worried they've now wasted this good idea on just episodes. UNLESS, this is all just a set up for next season where Peter continues his journey to 'the dark side' following his experiences in this season. But I very much doubt they're going to go with that, sadly.
-
...about Noah's rescuer. Good, it was the smart way to go(which is why I was still semi-surprised).
-
If I give even a hint, it might give it away, so try to figure it out, if you want...
-
...I watched S1 of Deadwood yesterday and was surprised to see her in it. The role was short and a bit disappointing, but still, she was one cold-blooded bitch, lol.
-
Peter was never close enough to pick up DL's power. He had to be 100 to 150 feet away.
So how did he get Dl's power? If he has Dl's from that distance he has to have Micahs as well.
Peter would also have to copy anyones power within that radius. Any stranger with power wandering by within 150 feet Peter taps.
Then why didn't he tap his mothers? Or Shaft dream guys?
Why can't he steal the Haitians?
Will Peter's mind reading power evolve like Parkman's?
Does Peters healing power get doubled now that he has stolen Adam's and combined it with Claire's?
Peter is way too fucking powerful for his own good. -
...*yawn*
-
make sure you tell everyone exactly what we have to expect. That way, NO ONe will be surprised ;p
-
Episodes 7 and 8. She winds up being SUCH an evil bitch in those episodes. That girl CAN act.
-
Your screenname in reference to another hot Bell? =)
Yeah, good stuff. A workmate was going on and on about Deadwood friday, so I figured I'd check it out over the weekend. LOVED S1. -

-
Watch the first 10 mins then take a 30 min nap =p
-
For me, and again this is just my opinion, but Episode 4 (Here was a Man), S1 of Deadwood is the BEST Episode of any TV show ever.
-
....Belle is only a bit taller than the cheerleader. Munchkins.
-
...the pirate service I use was missing ONE episode...guess which one!! =(
-
...interesting ending. No teaser for next week, though. Bastards.
-
Elle didn't fight, because she was thinking about what HRG told her. Did y'all miss the speach HRG gave Elle in his kitchen? Maybe she wanted to see *if her father were willing to do anything to save her just as HRG was willing to do for his little girl* Then the cold shoulder she gave her father in the van? I thought it was pretty clear.Xiphos - we did, and I hope you weren't laid up in the hospital and miserable.
-
inferior to last week's ep, though I knew that going in cuz of the Telemundo Twins, Sylar and Monica storylines.
Remember when Sylar was cool? The Twins + Sylar is probably the worst storyline of any show I've watched in recent years. My apathy for these characters couldn't be less.
-
Welcome to fuckin' Deadwood.
-
If you recall in season 1, Peter had to be trained by invisible guy for quite some time before he learned how to access and control the abilities he had already absorbed. If he accidentally gets a new ability that he doesn't know about and that ability isn't easily self-noticeable over time, then it's not much of a stretch to say he's unable to learn how to access it.
-
Here we go...
-
Can we get a Dexter talkback please? This second season has been amazing.
-
Every time Bell was in an episode before tonight, hers was the last scene of the prologue.
-
You need to rehab in vegas ;)
-
Shape of...Boring! Form of...Uninteresting!!
-
But Telemundo Twin #1 can speak English now. :D
-
...learn english in one week CDs.
-
That's it, VR.
-
is just cringe worthy.
-
LMAO.
-
That was not from the dialogue tonight. :|
-
Peter is turning into a bit of a badass.
-
VegasRon on da money again. :)
-
Sylar just nudged HRG for the vote of hardass. Not just evil...but a freaking great job in making the character 3 dimensional.
-
The manipulations that go on during a soap opera are more believable than that of Sylar and The Telemundo Twins.
-
i don't even think blowing his head off would do the trick. he survived a major explosion, probably not the only time he's gone through such trauma. i bet as long as he has any DNA intact, he can regenerate, kinda like Deadpool.
-
Man no one told me how good of a bod Noah had. Also note to Heroes creator Kkkkkrrrrraanng kill off the Indian dude, or at least turn him into a more realistic version of an Indian like Apu. God that gay is gay.
-
we now have a way to off Adam.
-
I think if the head comes off, he dies. I guess we are to assume that the gunpowder explosion and feudal calijapan didn't take his head off, or left it dangling by just enough nerves or tissue for him to regenerate.
-
Finally.
-
Sylar's the fucking man. That guy was a piece of shit.
-
One twin left to brainsuck the end of the world virus from
-
love it!
-
One down...one to go. Bring it on Sylar!!!!!!
-
He kills the brother THEN BANGS THE SISTER. Serious skillz...
-
dug this show if they sold it on Noah's hot bod rather then Heydar Pinonatiara's double chin, then maybe the ratings would be up. Notes from the Underbelly had more action on it tonight then the Non-Profit hour. Where's Beast?
-
...I take it you guys are at the part where Alejandro buys it. Let's just hope she dies in the "finale" and this neutered Sylar stabbing and shooting people is pathetic. Kill him off too.
Xiphos- completely remodeled two and built 2 brand new ones. Additions to the Bellagio and Ceasar's Palace are almost done. As is Trump's first Vegas casino. Hooters now has a casino, sadly. -
Good.
-
saving that little goober...
-
with those moves.
-
to have another insignificant character die. They should've just shot her.
-
Even with Alejandro's capping.
-
Trump's building in Vegas is all condos. No casino.
-
WWE rejects...
-
C'mon, Kristen and Hayden, save this episode...
-
everyone else but that dude playing young Sulu looked nothing like him, totally took me out of the show. Thats right Baby Balboa keep being a pussy. Man Micha is the only other bad ass on the show next to Sylar, $10 says he is the one that kills him. Man now a little Sylar bod, back to back hot man bod tonight I bet the gaydar on this site is broke by now.

Man, I can't choose just 2! Mohinder, Parkman, Nikki, her kid, the other wonder twin...
-
of last season. Ball dropped, save for the last 30 seconds.
-
If they kill off hiro i will stop watching this show.
-
She does all these little things right, look at how much fun she had with the cast on her arm in that short scene when she's trying to start the car.
As much as I love Sylar, he's doofy grin is getting a little overbearing.
I got goose bumps when Hiro charged Peter at the end. More empty promises? -
Is right. But this ep was better than most of the season.
-
ELLE WAS DRINKING SLUSHO! CLOVERFIELD!!
-
Was that supposed to be a battle cry at the end?!
-
No argument from me on that one! Claire's mom? Really?
-
who would win in a fight?
-
like that lady's in the makeshift military hospital, then.
-
WAY wrong best part about this show. Preview for American Gladiators fuck yea, and I thought Phenomenon changed the face of television. Also we get it, you want to make Parkour big, but you don't know how to make money off of it, its not like that whole Razor Scooter fade.
-
...for there can be only one.
-
The fans
-
How come all the villians try and some see the big picture but all the heroes suffer from tunnel vision.
Peter Petrelli "Why'd you shoot her in the head" Duh!!! "I'll get the car" (bitch)
Claire ,"thanks for the ashes Do I look cute?"
Mohinder "Primatech is doing good, The hell with my fathers teachings"
Nikki " primatech doing good , the hell with what my husband said"
Ando " You dont take me anywhere Hiro"
Micah "Will you be my mommy real black woman?"
Wonderless twins, Have you ever watched a series so long with a one-note act(I'm Spanish and they embarrasss me) Killem both for gods sakes. -
He is immortal, born in the Highlands of Scotland 400 years ago. He is not alone. There are others like him, some good, some evil. For centuries he has battled the forces of darkness, with holy ground his only refuge. He cannot die, unless you take his head, and with it his power. In the end, there can be only one. He is Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander... ...or Kensei, just strike the Scotland part.
-
Peter read her mind for a location, but didn't try to read both to see who was telling the truth?
And didn't Hiro appear behind Peter in the promo?
Last week was good, but two weeks ago (aka Four Months Ago) and tonight were just lame. I was enjoying the season much better before. -
"Watch the first 10 mins then take a 30 min nap."
More like 40... -
It could be hiro that dies. O Nanother site they mention that future hiro was supposed to make a return appearance. So maybe hiro dies and gets reserected some how?
-
According to last weeks commentary, Kristen said she's actually drinking the SLUSHO with a Pixie Stick. Can you say sugar high? By the way, the stuff she did with the cast was GREAT. Not sure if that was the writing (with the allusion in the beginning and the stuff at the end) or her.
-
Isn't it obvious?
-
Agreed. This feels like the penultimate EP for a mid-season break. I mean, I guess it's kind of semantics: Split 2nd season vs. ending 2nd, starting back on 3rd, but this feels rushed as season finale (and the Micah plot seems like it's just swinging in the breeze). It's like that story is still running on the mid-season schedule, but the other stuff got accelerated to be able to end "neatly". Next week does look good.
Holy Hell, Ricky Williams already busted up? However, with the weather factored in, this game *might* put one in the W column for the 'Phins. -
...you would have missed Alejandro being put out of our misery =D
-
This was like Lizards, another snoozefest episode. ZoeFan, I think it was her, mostly.
-
"Watch who you're shoving, Pom-Pom."
Sylar getting his groove on;
The last 30 seconds;
The preview for next week.
That was pretty much it. -
*but* Pennsy...
-
...meet Pennsy's hammer. I couldn't agree more. This super early double secret feed I have access to didn't have previews for next week...what did I miss?
-
So was it just the next EP that was reshot? (er, for that matter was that even done?).
So was Hiro holding the sword to Peter's neck we saw in last week's preview actually for *next* week? -
http://tinyurl.com/3ckvhz
-
so of course they will be the ones who will die, and we'll be stuck with the Wonder Twins, put-you-to-sleep villains Bob and Adam, and Micah's boring mimic cousin well into season 3. Everyone hates West for stupid reasons. He's one of the better new characters this season, he's just been stuck in a slow moving story. Why couldn't he fly with Noah on top of him? Probably because he needs to be on top to fly? Probably because he was tired (he did just point out that he would lose his grip on Noah while they were flying)? Probably because he wasn't going to escape at that moment, and Noah new that but he wanted to make a point which was "I own your ass, punk." I don't think this show is perfect, but Herc I think you're at that point where you enjoy nitpick bitching about the show too much to stop.
-
list. Just to clarify.
-
he slips her his Spock :)
-
Both by Elle's hand, hopefully.
-
I think it was Bell. I've seen her do things in Veronica Mars that show she has a good understanding for how to work a prop.
That sounds dirty. -
Dammit.
-
I don't think I can give any more chances to this show. Were they making this crap up on the fly?
-
With due respect to Jack Coleman. He shined last week in Cautionary Tales, but Bell, week in and out has delivered the goods. She better not be one of those two or they'll lose me as a viewer.
-
And SWEEP, that was just *bad* re: Maya and Sylar. Hilariously bad.
-
Whee. :|
-
Word to you guys. Thanks.
-
left some porn on that player? Baldy wants her to have skills.
-
American Gladiators takes over the two hour spot after the much better Chuck, OR Chuck becomes a two hour show.
-
Or is that too easy?
-
with Hiro, sword in hand, freezing time and confronting Peter. Only this time it didn't happen on a subway train.
-
Couldn't resist, Xiphos re: my reaction to American Gladiators, whose contestants all will have been drug-tested thoroughly, no doubt about it.
-
Totally true, to bad Comcast wants fucking $30 for me to get Showtime other wise I would watch the show. Fucking Comcast worst cable since Suddenlink, who knows what crap I'll have to deal with when I move again.
-
Powers of !Awesome! and BADASS. Activate!!!11!!!11!!one!!
-
Shouldn't Peter have Bob's gold power?
-
I'm guessing that HRG returning to his family is from the new ending; that originally HRG would be kept from them in the 3rd Story.
Peter better not use electricity power on Hiro, as it will freeze the instant it leaves his hand. -
Tonights episode was horrible, so much dumb shit happened. Oh no way Monica is like the character from the comic book, didn't see that coming. I do like how Micah just takes off running when he sees Monica getting kidnapped, yea he's be a great choice to put on the superhero team he wants to start up with his mom "Hey that person's in trouble, hold on I'm gonna go turn on a computer somewhere".
As for Adam, the only way to kill him is to chop off his head? Liked it the first time when it was called Highlander. Next episode we'll find him and Peter running across a beach with Adam yelling "The Quickening!"
The Sylar storyline was actually kinda cool, only because it looks like they're going to have that wrapped up soon.
The Hiro story was alright, kind of mundane for where his story is continuing from, but at least we were able to establish Adam's motive for wanting to destroy the world.
Claire's storyline was so ridiculous this episode, the acting seemed so forced and not very natural, Wes saying "it pains me to see you like this" was so lame and Claire listing off all the accidents she's survived only to tell us that her father dying hurts even more-very cliche. And what's the deal with the funeral? Why was she the only one scattering the ashes and the rest of the family had to stand really far away? Are they not entitled to say goodbye too?
Elle was, I think, fantastic in this episode. I don't know why everyone talks so much trash about her not being able to act, sure when you've only seen her on Veronica Mars it's easy to say that, but her acting is much different in this show and she plays the character really well. I think it would be cool if they didn't make her good or bad, but rather made her a character that just walked the line between both, kinda like Catwoman, good at heart but just likes to do bad things.
Well here's hoping that next week in the "finale" we get to see all our hated characters killed off and all our favourite character put into some cool and worthwhile storylines, kind of like what we do every week. -
I apologize if I stole this idea from anyone else since I haven't read the whole talkback...
Someone mentioned why Peter didn't read Adam's mind...since obviously he can. The only explanation is that Peter is trying to let the virus out in order that he could rescue Caitlin from the future. Here's to Peter Prettyboy Petrelli going evil! -
I kind of liked this season before Kring announced they were going to try to amp things up. While not nearly as engaging as Season One, I was getting a kick out of Peter's Bourne-style misadventures in Ireland. Tonight's episode definitely felt hurried and unfocused. I like Claire, but I find her romance with West simply nauseating and hope it will end soon. I keep expecting some surprise or revelation about West, but we've learned very little about him. Noah Bennet is my favorite character on this show, because he's a thinking man, usually one step ahead of everyone else. Nathan is pretty cool, too. Hope to see him play more of a role in the events to come.
-
I wont name a few, but those that keep saying this show is fucking awful and stuff like, its getting annoying. I hated the show just as much as u did in the beginning of the season, and i hated Four Months Ago. But sheesh, u sound like total pricks that will never be satisfied. When u start saying stuff like, "I like West and the rest of the show sucks," Then clearly i understand we shouldnt take anything u say seriously. Notice how the number of people criticizing the show negatively have dropped. Even i stopped. The show isnt perfect, never was, but at least it seems to be back on track. I thought tonite's episode was pretty good and moved the story along well enough. SO GET OVER IT AND QUIT WHINING. I hate to be like the ones that say it all the damn time, but seriously, if u dont like it DONT WATCH IT! Go watch ur retarded Journeyman, the American Hiro Nakamura wannabe.
-

Big Mick, Bell was stellar, but even she couldn't save this one.
by pennsy
Kinda like sending Jonathan Papelbon out there in relief when the other guys are up 10-2 on the Sawks ($1 to Tony Kornheiser, PTI)
-
hey whatever happened with jericho- i thought it was coming back this fall, but nothing...what gives? now there's a show.
-
..."you" automatically have their opinions invalidated.
Proof: "Go watch ur retarded Journeyman, the American Hiro Nakamura wannabe."
That statement is so full of stupid my head hurts. -
yeah man, that guy looked nothing like sulu- young or old- looked way too young for Kaito of 30 years ago- and acted like an asian guy playing an american accent playing a bad japanese stereotype sulu impersonation. i was waiting for an "Ah So"....plus, if i know my asians, he looked korean.
-
Yeah I know I've been rocking the internet, but still I would like to watch me some HD showtime. Plus my computer ain't that amazing, so getting my TV of the internet takes some time, TV is instant satisfaction. If I could get TV shows that could translate well onto my Zune then I could just bring it with me.
-
U just validated my statement dumbass.
-
Fans of VERONICA MARS already knew .... Bell is lightning in a pintsize bottle and one badass star. Maybe she's found her niche role. Hopefully they know what they've got. Looks like the script is definitely setting her up to take out Daddy Dearest and maybe take over Primatech. Remember Elle is the anti-Claire. (If he has a midas touch, why does Needle Nose wear such cheap suits?)/// Next stop for Noah and family.... a small paper company branch in Scranton PA. WOW. What a crossover! ///Gun-toting Shohinder not quite as annoying, but the overacting Maya needs to be Sylared, and soon./// S-Can the PC 'we-are-the-world' ratings ploy, if you don't mind. The two characters (Mo and Maya) introduced for that purpose are by far the weakest. ///If the virus is unleashed, count on Hiro to go back and fix it, as long as he's not a vector himself. (that sounds like a plot hole waiting to happen). Maybe he 'jumps' just before it hits the ground. How convenient for a script writer is the Hiro 'undo' button? Maybe Ando and Hiro names should have been reversed.
-
Btw, you were already stupid. U dont need to read my statements to prove that. Seriously though, just get off it. The show is decent. Its not the best show on tv, but at least its back to the better parts of where it was last season, plotholes and all. lol.
-
Every time the switch to a different plot line they feel the need to have characters explain to each other what they are doing. "Here we are, to see this woman, and find the virus!" "Yes! Virus 138! The virus that will kill 90% of all people on earth!" "90 percent?!?" "Yes! In ONE YEAR'S TIME!" And when they switch to Mohinder in a car, someone writer thought: "Oh, viewers will forget that he has a cure for Nikki, so let's have him open the case and just stare at the syringe FOR NO DAMN REASON! Maybe then these idiots will get it!"
-
Was Monday Night Football, where folks who watched it will probably file a class action lawsuit against the NFL and ESPN, demanding three hours of their lives back.
-
They also foreshadow way too much...
Its like now remember...Peter can read minds...Caitlin got left behind in the past...he needs that line of the future in tact to rescure her...but we won't reveal until next week...
I also dislike the total lack of action...this is the one time I will ever say this, but Michael Bay could actually help this show. Hiro runs like a girl with that sword when he should use the element of suprise in teleportation to Obi-wan-on-Maul Peter's head off, but that would never happen. Elle could easily have iced everyone with her electrical powers or at least stunned them. I also dislike how they have abandoned Sylar...remember he was trapped on Lost-Island and then he wound up in Mexico...who did that? -
monica needs to sit and watch that whole ipod. even if it takes a week. and she also needs to learn to go out the way she came in and avoid the gangsta's. bah!
and its like the 16th time that things would be solved if they talked to each other. but noooo.
peter: adam saved my brother - you cant kill him!!
hiro: i went back in time and saw adam try and kill everyone by stealing the virus in the 70s - thats why he was locked up. lets not fight.
peter. sounds reasonable.
that exchange would take 8 seconds. but noooo we get lame setup and lame pesudo fight.
hiros pudgy reflexes vs lighting. booo
-
So wait. Peter can't take a shotgun blast to the head but a nuclear explosion of his ENTIRE body doesn't smash the ol cabesa? He gets a shotgun blast to the chest and flies backwards, landing in a heap, but again his ENTIRE body explodes and he just flies it off? Geez, the truck-sized plot holes continue...
-
Yeah, i totally have to agree. They think we're not capable of putting two and two together. We're just a bunch of brainless idiots that will digest whatever bullshit they put on our TV screens. Very disappointing. I still think that was the case in Season 1's finale How to stop an exploding Man. SOOOO Disappointing. Seriously, does Kring think viewers are THAT dumb?
-
actually don't even watch this nerdy show. just wanted to invade its stupid talkback. eat me.
-
was actually very entertaining, are you kidding? 3-0 game in shitty, rainy conditions? with the 0-10 Dolphins involved?? that's entertainment! (not even being sarcastic)
-
What a letdown after last week.
-
Hiro attacks Peter and stabs him...Peter blasts Hiro away and Peter heals. Peter hides Hiro. Adam is none the wiser. Adam retrieves the virus, "drops it" and Peter lets it happen. Future timeline is maintained so he can rescue the Irish girl. He goes into the future, rescues her, goes back in time to before the virus drops, and wakes up Hiro. Peter tells Hiro to evacuate the entire factory to safety. Peter and Hiro together go back before the virus drops. Hiro kill Adam or teleports Adam away to kill him. Peter goes nuclear on the entire facility destroying the virus. Its simple, resolves some issues, and we can even throw in some lame dialouge.
-
...complete waste of a potentially awesome guest appearance. Oh, wait, wasn't she napping in every episode except tonight...?
-
I know I wasn't the only one reading AND watching that uneventful episode.
-
Despite what you think of this season so far, you got to hate to see it all end so soon. I'll be missing these talkbacks too (especially all you people who come and talk shit every week yet still come back for more)
-
a nice shot of dania ramirez's ass after syler kills her bro.
-
or bad fan-fiction. Some good story ideas, a smattering of cool, brief geek moments but generally really bad execution throughout. Heroes has really bad writing (G_d awful dialog, flaws in logic, silly/useless scenes, flimsy, paper thin characters etc), bad acting and a general lack of vision for the series are the major culprits but are hardly the only problems. I would love to see a new, proven creative team take charge. There's so much potential with the premise... it could be such a great show. "Origins" might've been just what the series needed.
-
Yawn. Bored again...
-
Hiro used to be cool. A faceless cog, excited about heroic deeds. Now he's just some poor rich boy, about to have his ass handed to him by Peter.Sylar used to be scary, now he's just... kinda sad.Peter was bad ass, now he's misguided and boring.Season one was awesome. Season two is best forgoten.
-
They can't afford to be this bad next week, can they? I mean, seriously, it can't help but be better, right?
Jesus Tittyfucking Tiberius Kirk Christ. -
I would buy you mac and cheese, sir or madam. You deserve it. Your post is pretty much everything I find wrong with the show in a few handy-dandy sentences. These people referring to season one's "glory" are clearly freebasing MUCH heroin in their spare time. Ahem...
-
so you're saying a team beating another by FORTY POINTS is more fun than watching a 0-0 game into the 4th quarter on a soggy field?? Either you're a Steelers fan, or you're just... I dunno, a sadist?
-
That´s my comment.
-
Nathan and Nikki buy the Farm. Nathan dies because he's been helping Adam. Nicki dies saving Taskmaster Girl.
-
Cassidy's brief appearance wasted. Maya really is a dumb bitch. Peter is a selfish ass who just wants to save his big-forehead barkeep, screw the rest of the population. In short, this episode was a good microcosm of the series as a whole, The first 95% is dull filler, to get to the last 5% that may or may not redeem the rest of it.
-
After three strong episodes everything comes to grinding halt. Sylar and the twins show up and suck all the life and momentum from the the show.
I really can't think of one thing I liked from last night's show. How much of the plot on this show is being driven by people acting like idiots.
Maya= idiot(although in her defense, she seems to have learned perfect English sometime in the past three episodes.
Peter= major idiot, how many time are people going to tell him Adam is evil before he start to question things, he should believe Hiro right, Peter remembers everything they did and should trust him right? Oh wait, peter has amnesia and shouldn't remember him, but he does for some reason, but is going to blast him anyway.
Don't even get me started on Mohinder. Let me guess Sylar blackmails him into curing him of the virus and we all cheer the return of super powered Sylar. Will Mohinder call the company to come help take Sylar down once and for all, will Mohinder call anybody to help him?
I guess I am bitching up a storm here, but this was a very disappointing episode and I don't see too much changing in the last episode for the season next week. -
What the hell are you talking about, have you watched any of this season, ever since Sylar met up with the twins it's been established that Maya can speak english since she's been the one talking with Sylar the whole time. When has anyone had the chance to tell Peter that Adam is evil since it was only last week's episode that Peter actually meets up with Adam for the first time since his amnesia (where he cured himself of it as well), and I would blast Hiro with lightning too if he was charging at me with a fucking samurai sword. As for Mohinder, I agree that will probably happen and it's pretty stupid. But you're right, this episode was a huge let down.
-
that a large portion of the stuff that was said to be discussed tonight wasn't. Like Parkman tracking down Victoria Pratt, Parkman wasn't in the episode. And I hate how the trailers are so misleading, they built it up like there was going to be a huge showdown and it was going to be all the heroes against one another, blah blah blah. But the showdown only started at the ending of the episode was left as a cliffhanger. This show must be grasping at straws if this is what they have to do to get ratings.
-
Peter has Dl's power. He used it to escape from the chair he was tied to. He was NEVER trained to use that power nor had he ever met DL.
As a matter of fact season 1 Peter claimed he had to visualize someone to use their powers.
But with amnesia he should not be able to visualize anyone.
There fore he should not have been able to use any powers what so ever.
-
I guess he needs to just see the brain to copy a power? I was just thinking he steals the power by eating some of the brain? I guess if he does end up chopping into Clair's head she could survive with her powers. I hope Sylar and Peter have a better fight this season. Makers need to commit some good screen time to it and destroy some sets!
-
Hiro and Peter are still gay, and so is Shesh. Noah, Sylar and now Micha (little Micheal Jackson fetish there) are the only cool characters on the show. There is some British guy thats a Japanese Legend who is killing all the "Original"? Heroes. Vironica Mars is now on the show and so are some other uninteresting new people. Steve Tobonwmnsky is now the head EVIL mastermind, I guess Malcolm McDowell wasn't selling evil Head of Company good enough they needed someone with a little more CREEPY menace, and Michael Jeter is dead. OH and I guess you can kill and indestructable person with a SHOTGUN shot to the head, not a bullet through the eye or metal in the brain. Gotta blow it all apart, but then again we haven't seen the rejuvinating hero with T-1000 abilities. Though he will come next season and KKKKRRREEANNG! Will say he's never seen Terminator 2? What's that? Pretty much the jist is, nothing has happened this season.
-
why would Pete attack Hiro? It would be one thing if they still hadn't 'cured' Nathan and were on their way to the hospital, and Pete wasn't going to let anything stop him. But no, he's la-la-la-la-la don't hear anything negative about Adam. And with taskmaster girl, why didn't she do some kung fu...did she forget all ready how to do it? Is is a fleeting memory and she has to "re-learn" it? I have to say, I would rather NBC cancel this show than JourneyMan. I love that show, and the writing isn't horrible. Dammit! Oh, and Maya should not say anything and be naked. That's her power. Thank you.
-
If Sylar had chop-shopped her brother BEFORE he taught her to "control her power" and actually used her brother's power himself and convinced her he ran away?
I am apparently the only one that liked the Monica story --albeit out of context to the freakin chapter finale. While I think they should have waited on Series 3 to introduce Monica since she has no bearing on the A story, I dig the whole idea of young heroes getting in over their heads. Yeah she could have gone out the same window she came in (presumably) but just assuming that you were in her position up in the ceiling with guns trained on you --do you really think it works like it does in the movies? That's far too much nitpicking. I think it played out exactly right. A girl who had never done anything like that before got freaked, froze and they kicked her ass. Micah's hero fantasy blew up in his face and he ran --he's a little kid. I think if this had come at a less important time that people would be into this story.
-
The strike is actually a good thing for this show. Either it will kill it (fine by me at this point), or they can take 6 months to work out an actual plot and stop making things up every week.
It's obvious there is no plan here, except "oh, shit, another weekly deadline, we better write something and film it!!"
-
I'm really starting to get annoyed at the way they use Peter's character and powers. I'm still pissed at his escape from the cell using DL's powers (which he had never used prior to that... and escaping the ropes in Ireland came AFTER the escape from the cell). I mentioned last week that it would be stupid for him to be manipulated by Adam since he can read minds, but some people fell back on the tired, "oh bu-bu-but he can't control his powaz!!!" excuse. Well, he used his ability to read Victoria Pratt's mind in order to find out where the virus was, but he couldn't use it to find out if she or Adam were telling the truth? WTF?I'm not buying the whole, "he needs the virus to be released so he can rescue Forehead Girl" excuse, do you people really think Krang is that smart?
Alejandro is down for the count, which is a good thing. Hope Sylar gets his powers back next week and start's fucking people up.
As much as I nitpicked here, I do enjoy watching this show week in and week out and am disappointed that it's more than likely done for this season. On a more positive note, I did enjoy Elle for the first time since she's been on the show. The "O Shit they see me" part where she was drinking the SLUSHO with the cast on was hilarious. At this point, I would rather see her than Claire, who makes the dumbest decisions on the show. "I'm gonna show the world what I can do!" LMAOGTFO. -
I didn't think about that, but you're right! When Hiro visited his mother's funeral in the past, Hiro's dad was George Takei, but we get this totally different looking guy a decade earlier? Oh, maybe that's his power? (Yeah right, lol).
-
How the hell can some of you come on here saying you were happy with that ending. It was so badly written and stupid im still in shock. Ok so time is frozen and Peter and Hiro, who know each other as Truthful, brave and Good guys all round have time to talk. When Hiro says to Peter "Adam killed my father and must pay" Peter doesnt even say "How do you know that, "we need to discuss what each of us know"...i mean hes already had the only person theyve spoke to so far tell him that Adam was the one killing all the people in the photograph. Now Hiro(who he knows to be good and honest)tells him as well and hey thats two out of two. So does he stop for a second to calm Hiro down and both get each other up to speed...No he says "youve chosen the wrong side" or "i cant let u do that".
And also Peter vs Hiro..uhh can someone name me a power that Hiro has that he can use against Peter because theyre arent any. So its sword vs Invisibility, electricity,Flight,Phasing,Telekinisis, regeneration, freezing,Nuclear and many more ive probably forgotten...Hello Vegas i'll Have $10000 on Peter Petrelli -
Seriously, I didn't see that coming.
-
That was one of the worst episodes ever. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
"But, Hero, you said that you would not use your powers to change history again." "I am sorry, Ando. But there are only two episodes left so I don't have the time to investigate with you the hard way."
"Claire, it's a real bummber that your dad died and all. Here, I offer my arms to you as comfort."
"I don't exactly know who that girl is, but you don't have time for her. By the way, where is my Mr. Muggles? Seriously, I haven't seen him in several episodes and I'm beginning to worry. MR MUUUUUUGGGGGLESSSS! Come back to Mommy, Sweety!"
"D'oh! Stupid comic book!"
"Say, Hiro?" "Yes, Peter Petrelli?" "It's the end of the episode, and I haven't used my powers yet." "I see. Prepare to die. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Meanwhile ...
"Oh SYLAR! You make me so SEXY!" -
"Don't worry, baby. Mommy can't make you sick. Dr. Surresh told Mommy it isn't contagious, so everything's okee-dokee. Hugs!"
-
I have been a defender of heroes and up until this recent episode I have disagreed with most people's complaints. But this recent episode was inexcusably brutal. As mentioned, Peter's way to convenient memories. He has powers then doesn't based purely on trying to drive the plot. And if he remembers Hiro, then why is he going to ignore the SECOND person in a day that tries to kill Adam. The writing and dialogue was really really bad, the missing character felt REALLY missing this time. Why didn't Elle just fry the hell out of Claire instead of taking her crap? Seems we already know she has no problems breaking rules and zapping people for her own amusement. And I still stand by the fact that the painting of Noah's "death" didn't match the actual events for the first time ever. I think clearly this show, while already on shaky footing, is falling victim to the strike, and what we are seeing is the result of rushing crappy episodes and forcing a conclusion before running out of eps. They would have been smarter to just follow the original plan and end on a massive cliffhanger...which they could have picked up from next season if they had to. Instead forcing the show to conclude prematurely has resulted in turning an incredible show into tripe.
-
I mean come on what the fuck? How naive can one person be? Hiro, the PUREST fucking person on the show, shows up telling him that Adam is evil and trying to release the virus. And he doesn't fucking believe him?
THAT is bad writing right there. EXTREMELY BAD WRITING. Hiro is the one that fucking helped him save the damn world in the first place. He's the one that stopped the whole Sylar driven future. (Or Has he ;) ) Yet Peters all, "Duh im a dumb retard hiro, this guyyy eez my friend!1! He saved muy BRUDDA! Even tho a gajillion people is saying he's EVIL I beelieve him because I spent 3 Weeks in a Cell with him1!1. HE IS MY BUTT BUDDY".
Peter is 100% RETARDED. Its just pissing me off the way that they wrote him for this "I back Adam" 100% BS. For Christs Fucking sake he can READ MINDS. Why didn't he take the time to listen to anything other then the fucking location of the virus from Victoria Pratt? He coulda seen clear as fucking day she was telling the damn truth. Just plain fucking horrible.
Other then that I Liked this ep. KILLED The fucking annoying twin, just like he said he would. :D -

What was wrong with Peter in this episode??? First of all, he seems to think that PREVENTING the future he saw will help him bring his girlfriend back. Um, Earth to Peter: preventing the future you left her in is a sure-fire way to erase her existence! Then, Peter never thinks to read Adam's mind when the lady calls him a murderer.
-
I seriously hate the way they write his character. Makes me want to throw things at the TV. Before, you could argue that he couldn't use his mind reading power BUT HE FUCKING USED IT RIGHT THERE.... AND IN THE MOST RETARDED WAY POSSIBLE!
The more I think about it, the more pissed I get. -
Perfect description of the writing in this episode.
-
My God. The sheer crapulence of last night's Heroes had to be seen to be believed. It's hard to know where to begin in recounting its many crimes... it pretty much stank top to bottom. Bell and Coleman came out with their dignity (and characters) intact, but the rest were cursed with hideous flip-flopping and/or flat out dumber-than-dogshit unlikely behaviors. I feel bad for James Kyson Lee who's been stuck the entire fucking season in the role of exposition boy... It boggles my mind that Kring and co seem to have completely misunderstod why the Hiro/Ando dynamic worked so well in the first season. There was a bit of dramatic push-pull going on, with Ando providing a modicum of grounding for Masa Oki's goggle-eyed goofiness as Hiro. Yeah it was a cheesy play on the stereotypical Japanese tourist schtick, but the characters meshed well and were genuinely likeable. This season completely nullified that with its mixture of exposo-vision talking headitude and the least convincing depiction of medievel Japan I've ever had the misfortune at snickering at.
Bottom line though, what really scares me is that this episode's reliance on cheesy action/gore may be the first sign of the new "adrenalized" approach that Kring mistakenly believes is what the fans want. The whole St Joan bit... NO! The clunky "no head-shots" bit after the Adam/Peter ressurecto double-header (reminded me of one of those 3d alien chestburster T-shirts from the 80's)... NO! Sylar stroking Maya's head like Dr Evil and his Bondian persian cat mwahaha... FUCK NO!
Most of all though, whoever was responsible for Claire's risible "I've broken every bone in my body, but nothing hurt as much as this..." wants their fucking fingers breaking in order to prevent them from writing trite cliched shitting shit dialog ever EVER again!
-
In season One he was more than just Hiro's sidekick/staright man. He was allowed a little love (even if that was simply a ploy). He got to do some running around, sneaking around, hiding from bad guys stuff. He was set up as an example of a character with tremendous loyalty who would probably die to protect his friend.
And now what? He gets to sit in a tiny office poring over files, or sits in a lab looking at ancient scrolls, or he's Sulu's errand boy.
Not fair: Ando is one of the few non-superpowered characters worth developing, and the writers have sidelined him. -
next year. Heroes had to run the table just to get six decent tapes. But any infinitesimal hope of that ended last night. Compare this to last year's Landslide; it's like night and day.
The only Emmy possibilities for '08 are Bell and Coleman in the supporting categories (and Bell like I said last night clearly has been the best actor on the show in her run. Coleman was off the chain last week, but that was it). Maybe Stephen Tobolowski and Cristine Rose in guest acting (Bob and Mama Petrelli). A shame, really. -
After this year... I can't even stomach the promos. OMG that show sucks...
-
7.2/11 vs. Chuck's sorry 5.1/7 and Journeyman's even worse 4.3/7.
-
She has that little electrical thingy, and she also has the power to make my pants very, very tight. It's unsettling.
-
I would have tried to toast the entire remaining family right then and there.
-
One: This show is not perfect or even great. But it is better than 90% of the other stuff on tv. There are 500 channels with nothing but shit on. What would you rather be watching? Dancing with the Stars, Grey's Atatomy, Desperate Housewives???????????
2: It showed in Season 1 the Clair couldn't heal with that branch in her brain, so the same would be true (assuming thier powers are the same) for Adam and Peter. A shot gun blast to the head would destroy the brain. Just chopping off their head probably would not kill them. I would say thier head would probably grow a new body (cool!).
3: My guess on the two that will die next week are West and 50/50 Bob or Mya.
-
no one can argue that. Sure it's full of plot holes, but it's fun ! I just wish Peter wasn't such a douchebag. Also, nice forshadowing with Adam / Kensei warning Peter that the only thing he can't heal is if his head gets taken off. How does Adam know that ? Does it have to come all the way off, because Claire survived a branch through her head ? And what are the odds that having said that, Kensei soon gets his head taken off ? And how does that jive with the fact Sylar takes peoples heads off ? Will Sylar take Adams healing power and become the ultimate B-movie villan ?
Too many questions. -
you must have been reading my head taking off question as I was typing it. Anyway, when is Kristen Bell's episode contract up ? Isn't it time for her to go, which would suggest she bites it ? I would love for it to be Nikki and Mya, just because they suck. But I suspect it will be Bob and Mya. But does Bob count as a Hero ?
-
with the Nikki/Mya...except I would add Elle to form a love triangle. A very, very naughty love triangle I might add...So what were we talking about? While I will not argue that it's better than all that reality garbage, this show could be so much better than what it's giving us right now.
-
I think we'll find out that Nathan's cure did not come cheap, that Adam forced him to help him off the older generation and that's why Nathan has been so full of angst. I think they've done about as much a they can with Nathan, they already have another character with his power and I happen to know that Pasdar is working on a play he wrote that will be produced in California, indicating that he is "At Liberty". Nikki is not a fan favorite, her son has a new family, and her story is pretty much over. I think she will die saving copygirl. As for Syler, I think we'll find out that after he was hit by bullets at the end of season one, Matt used a Jedi mind trick on Syler to make him lose his ability to access his powers. The block will be removed in the season finale. Final predictions: Matt and Telemundo Girl will become super-villains.
-
Extra additional highlight of last night. Not anything beside that, however.
-
Matt had no such "jedi mind tricks" last year... he only got them last week.
In other wonderings, Elle can shoot lightning from different parts of her body as we saw when she kissed Peter (lol). So, can she shoot lightning bolts out of her ass? Her vagina? If from her ass, could the electricity be used to fire flaming explosive farts from her ass? These thoughts keep me awake at work. -
It seems like there is too much plot hanging, and all the characters are going into such different directions. Simply stopping or even not stopping the virus doesn't really seem like the whole story is being told. I know Exodus was to start at the end of Chapter 2, like how Hiro ended last season in Japan. I wonder if this episode was changed around due to the strike/network meddling. It seemed very disjointed, and didn't match previews or summaries. I also wonder if they'll introduce Chapter 3, considering they claim to want to make drastic changes to things.
-
because of this cursed strike, but we all know the finale's ending had to be re-shot, too. Bob and GiNikkiCa are my 2 top death pool candidates, too.
-
Seriously - if you are male and don't like her, you are a big time homosexual. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you should at least come out of the closet. She's just cute as hell and makes you think that she's some cool, sci-fi computer geek chick that you might actually have a chance to talk into anal at some point in your life. Very nice !
-
He just didn't know to use him. My guess is, is that when he was struck by those bullets some kind of "don't kill me" command was fired at Syler from Matt's unconscious mind.

Heroes still better than Journeyman (Heroes Origins was retitle
by rightarm4rosario
Someone up there said that Journeyman is leaps and bounds ahead of everything else on NBC? Huh? There's a lot of crap on NBC, but Heroes still whacks Journeyman pretty easily.
Maybe Dan is a hero, and will be folded into the show! -
A man cannot dislike Kristen Bell.
-
Making characters much dumber than the are created to be (or than logic says they would be in a specific situation) ala Peter last night or Batman in The Long Halloween. "Duuuuh, I'm the 'world's greatest detective' and I've been outsmarted by a housewife, who will escape and I'll never realize that I've caught the wrong person. Ever.

Im probably in the minority, but I thought the Peter v Hiro endi
by samurai sark
“5 Years Gone” showed these two make a strong and effective team, and now they are on opposite sides of the line. /// Hiro made a great journey, met his childhood idol, turned him from a drunk conman into a respected warrior, then in a moment of weakness gave into his love of the princess, turning his idol into his enemy. He comes back home to discover his dad was killed because of his selfishness, and now he finds Peter, the most powerful hero he knows, standing on his enemies side. /// Peter undergoes a traumatic breakdown, almost kills his brother, and is introduced to people who want to help him. He is lost, afraid, worried he might hurt people, and agrees to go with them. Then he discovers the people helping him are lying, and the only one who knows seems to know the truth is Adam. He escapes, then wakes up in another country with no idea of who he is. His powers confuse him, and his lack of control throws his lover into a future where the worlds population equals the head count of Minnesota. He can’t just LEAVE her there, so he trusts Adam to help him fix it and save the world. Everyone who calls him a killer is working for the company, so there’s no way he Peter trusts them. Just when they’re about to reach their objective, Hiro Nakamura comes out of nowhere and wants to kill Adam. He’s pissed and probably can’t be reasoned. Peter would probably assume the company got to him somehow, or it’s an illusion or trick. Either way, he’s charging to you with a sword, trying to kill the only guy who can help you save the world. /// Awesome episode IMHO.
-
NBC's "Chuck" earned a 4.9/7, tying for second in households
Heroes" scored a 6.7/10 for NBC (and won the hour in the 18-49 demo).
NBC's "Journeyman," 3.8/6,

...is just hot. Claire is an indestructible youth, raised with morals and ethics. She’s pitted against an electric sociopath with no conscious. Sure Claire can survive injury, but getting shocked is like paralysis. As long as Elle keeps pumping her :) Claire is powerless. Her body will just shake from shock until her insides cook and her skin fries off. I guess Elle would run out of power eventually, but I’m sure it would take Claire some time to heal from being cooked alive.
-
I was pretty excited to see where they went with this plot. The “St Joan” comic-book tie in seems forced, but I’ll buy it because Micah is just a little kid who likes to idealize. (His dad was a hero because he saved someone, Micah wants to live up to his dad’s example). His mom is sick, his dad is dead, his cousin is a thieving douche bag, and his other cousin ends up being one of his favorite heroes! And when he finally gets his chance to be part of something heroic, his hero gets caught and kidnapped by thugs! Of course he runs! They had gats! He’s eleven! Who knows what he fuck they’re going to do with her fine athletic frame… poor Monica

Xiphos - no different than last yr's Sylar vs. Hiro...
by just pillow talk
Sylar just taking a sword thrust (in slo-mo) to the chest from Hiro.
-
The Dolphins play my, how do I say, God-forsaken N.Y. Jets next week.
-
When Hiro Stops time, Peter is unaffected and vice versa
-
I agree with whoever it was above who said Monica's story should have been saved for later in this season or number three.
-
First of all, Xiphos and VegasRon... Why don't you two just get a room and have done with it? The man-lust here is palpable.
Interesting episode. Sylar is a great villain- He goes for the mind-fuck, which is the best "power" of all. Making people doubt themselves, or trust you? Awesome villain power.
What's up Peter's ass? Why's he being such a fucking idiot? If EVERYBODY is telling him Adam is the bad guy, why doesn't he take a fucking hint? I'm actually kinda hoping Hiro fucks him up. Peter needs to be taken down a notch.
I'm getting a little sick of the Claire/Noah thing. Their obsession and love for one another is bordering on the creepy side. Poor Claire's brother (Noah's biological son, I assume) doesn't get any fucking attention from his dad, and I think his power might be to blend into the background and be totally unimpressive. They might as well recast the role with a cardboard standee, for as much interaction as the kid gets. His job seems to be to hold Mr. Muggles when Mrs. Bennet has something to say or do.
Nikki's whole "normal life" thing is annoying. She could be using her power to kick heavyweight guys' asses in the WWE or something. Instead, she spends 90% of the time whining and moping.
Bell is decidedly *not* hot. She has a huge lantern-jaw and has a voice like a Dora the Explorer on helium. I hate her more and more every time I see her on television. I think the only guys who think she's hot are those who have some sick "I wanna bang 12-year-old girl" fantasies. She has no tits, no ass, and no curves. She looks like a naughty child.
Why didn't St. Joan kick some ass? She could have taken four thugs in baggy pants, even if they did have guns. -
Slow as it was, Maya and Al have a good story going I think. Al finds out his sister is a demon-possessed mass murderer, he goes on the lam with her to get her to America. Everyone they meet is either trying to kill them or screw her (or both). Then they meet a guy who not only KNOWS the Dr they are looking for, but promises to help them reach him. Plus, he sympathizes with her confusion, guilt, and even helps her develop her power, the whole time unafraid. Meanwhile Sylar is just counting the seconds, manipulating every word to fit his scheme.
-
because he's the only one telling Peter the truth. After being locked up with only one voice to listen to for 4 months, Peter's loyalty is solid. I'm sure Peter's read Adam's mind, and I'm sure after 400 years Adam knows how to beat that trick. Hiro's fucked unless he can make Peter realize Adam's a genocidal liar.
-
You killed my father. Prepare to die.
-
St Joan froze. She's fast-food worker, she's never been in a fight, and there's four thugs with gats. I'd freeze. Then poop would leak from my pants.
-
Because two seconds before that she spilled a beverage on herself. We've already established that wet=bad idea for electric lass. Plus she was next to an ocean that West could easily drop her into.
Pennsy-- if your lust for Bell were any more blatant, you'd be describing exactly HOW you masturbate to her every week on Heroes. I swear, almost every post is about how awesome/hot/great/sexy she is. We get it. You have a hard-on for chicks that look and sound like little girls. Good luck with that. -
Yeah. A little. He sounds dreamy.
-
is a metaphor for MMORPG addiction. I wikipedia-ed it.
-
Way back when they first started talking I thought he'd seduce Maya, kill the brother, take his powers which apparently is just immunity, and bond her with him forever. I still fail to see why they would call Adam the most powerful when blowing his brains out takes him out for good. Wow that's really powerful! If anyone has the potential to be the most powerful it's the psychic cop. Mind control. That's power. And Monica must have been locked in the basement most of her life, "That's why Clark Kent wears glasses!!!"
-
sometimes when reading a book i'm excited about i keep saying, "ok, its not very good... but maybe it'll get good."
once you pass the 3/4ers mark... guess what? you just read a shitty book.
heroes season 2 was a huge bust. -
ditto !!
-
i can't believe there's complaints about the plot. The casting/acting/special effects/wardrobe/set design/dialog, all of that can be attacked. But the plot, the pure story, is awesome or you wouldn't bother.
-
massive multiplayer online role playing game. Lame joke. I'm bored...
-
... see Maya in that Santana / Nickelback video? Anyone? Wowawaweewah
-
...was the acting even worse than usual in this episode? Like they did single takes for every scene? Only that electricity chick exhibited any degree of apparent competence.
-
and thats saying something. Still, I keep coming back for the occasional moments of greatness and tolerate the micah and wonder twins moments.
-
Ergh. I just finished watching it. What a load of crap. I really thought it was picking up the past couple of episodes, and then it suddenly flatlines again. I have to say, whenever the focus drifts to Nikki, Mohinder, Micha, or the Boring Twins, the show loses all sense of purpose or momentum. Just a terrifically bad episode all around.
-
Lets recap: Monroe/Kensei becomes evil and swears eternal vengeance cos a chubby Japanese guy with glasses KISSES his squeeze. Christ on a bike, imagine if Hiro had actually fucked her? He'd probably detonate like Peter did at the end of season 1. Meanwhile after bumming around for 400 years he catches a late-nite showing of Hammer's '73 cheesefest 'The Satanic Rites Of Dracula' where the count - bored of it all - decides to destroy the world by unleash a deadly virus. Ding! Brilliant thinks Ken/Doe, I know just how he feels, and coincidentally the people I'm working with to 'save the world' (or something) have strain #138 a convenient super-virus hanging about which nobody thought to destroy at the time. Evidently the company was in Bond-villain mode during the 70's because of course a company who's head-honcho can turn anything he touches into solid-gold really NEEDS a doomsday weapon top rule the world... that they are trying to save/protect.. ummm... what do we do at the company again? I mean, all this effort to "cure" specials is a bit pointless when they've already demonstrated the ability to (a) suppress powers using the haitian, (b) shoot specials that get out of hand (claude), (c)kidnap/tag/incarcerate/vivisect/mindfuck anyone they feel like.

If as you say, "Bell is decidedly *not* hot. She looks like a naughty child." So who famous does work for you?
-
My friend and I both concurred last week 'these last two episodes can't be good because you KNOW it wasn't what they intended -- they're trying to tie up loose ends.' And as it turns out, failing, which doesn't really surprise me at all.
He felt they should have ended it on last week's resurrection of Noah...and then just carried on once they got back.
Once again, he was right. -
points in the game. It'll make last night's "game" look like a gem. Man, being a Jet fan really blows.
-
This was there last chance to build up to some kind of climax for the season finale. At least a "One Two Punch" would somewhat save the season. But they've failed miserably.
I can't see everything comming to a head in one last episode. Especially with so many meaningless characters, and *my god* EFFING TONS of commercials. I thought I was watching the friggin Super Bowl there were so many commercials. -
I think if the show's producers didn't have commitments in sponsors and could do whatever they wanted, they too would have left last week's episode the finally.
-
To borrow from the Pixies:
Vamos a jugar por la MAYA! -
Although this season could suck the chrome off a trailor hitch. I gotta give props to Sylar. What an excellent Villian. Who is this old fart "Adam" anyway?!? World domination is the oldest bit in the book.
Give me a good cold blooded evil bastard like Sylar any day. -
but not historical pain that is known as the N.Y. Jets. I think I would be right in saying that my team will NEVER make it to the Superbowl, let alone win it, during my lifetime. The playoffs are to the Jets as to what the WHITE SCREEN OF DOOM is to me: an unbeatable nemesis that mocks us until we cry like little school girls.
-
Pretty funny line. I think we should refer to Micah as ex-micha-na.
-
Easily. I wish this year we would have had a villain who could top Sylar in badassness (hard to do, I know), but alas, we did not get that. It would be over for Adam in an instant if he ever ran across powered Sylar... or hell, even powerless Sylar.
Long live the King of Clocks. -
Well, let's see. Off the top of my head, just on Heroes alone, I'd say Dana Davis, who plays Monica, is leagues more attractive and sexy than Bell, who reminds me of the pink-haired girl on that kids' show (Lazytown?).
Most famous people don't work for me, though, because they're so very, very fake. Rosario Dawson is hot. Thora Birch has her moments. Laura Prepon had some good days. Lucy Lawless was a goddess in the 90s. Drew Barrymore has moments when she's radiant. If I'm up for super-skinny, I might prefer Selma Blair to Bell. Carla Gugino's built like a woman, and is pretty hot. Angie Jolie was hot in the 90s, but now she's pretty mundane. I'd probably bludgeon you to get to a 1998-era Fairuza Balk. There are a few porn stars I find attractive-- Allie Sin (personality of a wet blanket, but she's damn cute, Alexis Silver, Whitney Stevens...
I don't fault your particular taste. I just get utterly sick of every Heroes talkback being a circle jerk over Bell, as if she's the only woman on the show. Frankly, she comes off as a shallow dress-me-up doll to me. She's a one-note actress whose whole schtick is "I got a spunky attitude" and it just doesn't impress me.
Granted, I'm partial to darker-skinned or darker-haired women with lots of curves, and I can't stand chicks with nasal, high-pitched, whiny voices like Bell's. She sounds like a fucking chipmunk with a head cold.
I'm diverse and quirky. I thought Sara Rue was gorgeous when she was big, and that she looks like a bobble-head now that she's skinny. I thought Winona Ryder was delicious in the 80s and 90s, but hated how she looked when she went blonde for "Edward Scissorhands" and a few other things. (oh, but "Heathers"-era Winona was delicious.) -- Blade Runner era Daryl Hannah was pretty hot, too... And hey, she's a blonde, isn't she? Oh, and I can't forget how utterly shaggable Salma Hayek is.
Sorry. Nothing personal. I just don't like Kristin Bell, and I can't wait until she is killed off and replaced by someone who doesn't shatter my eardrums with her hideous, child-like voice. -
I can't wait until Bell's character is killed off. I don't mean any harm to the actress herself. I'm sure she's a nice enough person, even though her voice makes me envy the deaf.
-
I went into this show thinking of it like Smallville. I'm never going to try to pick it apart, like Lost, because it's just suppose to be a fun show about powers. They do things for dramatic effect. Who cares what happened in the final scene until you see the next one? Maybe Peter has read Adam's mind and is just playing him. Maybe he and Hiro will change their minds and talk things out. It was a cliff hanger. That's what they're like. Get over it.
As for stupid characters, welcome to TV (and life). That's the problem with most shows because they're written by stupid writers who are imagining themselves in the roles. You want smart characters, watch Dexter, because you're not going to see them on network TV.
Peter, especially, has already been established as somewhat of a dimwit. Sylar, Bennet and the Hatian are the smart characters and they generally act smart. Compare this to Lost where even the "smart" characters routinely behave like retards and I'd say Heroes is doing a decent job or representing all types along the spectrum (the incomprehensible idiocy of Mohinder aside).
-
Almega is spot on about this: it's a Highlander rip-off, and not a very good one at that.
-
:)
They better not kill off Elle. Doing that, like failure, is not an option. -
Thanks for answering. Most people wouldn't due to the question I asked is a trap just to go off on your answers. I don't play like that. However, after you further explained yourself, I wonder if your dislike towards Bell is mainly her voice. I'd say put on Closed Captions during her scenes.
-
I think you might be right about the sponsors.
-
So here's proof K-Bell is all that: http://tinyurl.com/3ddh5z and http://tinyurl.com/3d67eq
-
And that's saying something! What other TV character has ever been so has been so clueless outmaneuvered and manipulated. Well, maybe Wilbur on Mr. Ed.
-
I agree with Ragingfluff up there, Ando is one of my favorites from last season and he is given fuck-all to do this year. Episode after episode it's just him in a tie, wondering where his friend is. Last year they did the "one of these people will die" promo, and I was sure he would be the one killed, and I was completely bummed out. This year if he were to die, would anyone notice? GIVE ANDO SOMETHING TO DO!
-
After watching shows like Journeyman, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and Damages, I have come to the realization that Heroes is a stupid fucking show, with retarded characters, horrible CGI and greenscreen, and some of the worst exposition since that Tatum O'Neal's show on My9 ("Desire"?). Having said this, I really don't think Heroes attempts to compare with any of those shows, but is falling so hard on its own kitsch that it's starting to become unwatchable.
I've realized though, that because season 1 was very good for what it was trying to do, to improve on that they'd have to have million-dollar super-hero on super-hero battles, which would include flying/ time travel/ and crazy fire bolts all at the same time, which really wouldn't be feasible. Therefor, I have come to the conclusion that Heroes prematurely blew its preverbial load and is having trouble regaining its hard-on. THE END.
PS. After my visit to the NY comic-con I'd pick pennetierreirerer over Kristen Bell, and yes I liked Veronica Mars. -
Not that any of this is new, but -
1) How did Sylar KNOW that the Wondertwin with the Wondertwins would be able to reign it in? He just bet his LIFE? Doesn't seem likely. 2) Peter, who has the ability to read minds, can't determine of Adam's nefarious intent? Whythefucknot? 3) Micah's mimicky cousin couldn't figure out to GO OUT THE WAY SHE CAME IN? WHAT? Also - she hasn't watched any John Woo movies on that fucking iPod? 4) Why is Claire's blood the only healer? I count at least four healers: Claire, Peter, Adam/Kensei, and Sylar. Peter, Adam/Kensei, and Sylar have all recently been in Company control. Presumably their blood could have been obtained. 5) Why does Sylar (who has no powers to make him a badass in anything except attitude) assume that the Company is going to re-power him? 6) How could Adam/Kensei possibly know that the only way to kill him would be to cut off his head? If it's happened before, he'd be dead, and if it hasn't happened before, how could he know? Claire regrew a toe, is it too much to think she (or he) could regrow a head?
Bottom line: This show is requiring too many instances of suspension of belief - not because of wacky powers, but because of characters saying and doing things that make no sense whatsoever. -
Elle trying to start the car with her arm in a sling and spilling her drink. Or was it the part where Mya and Sylar start making out with her dead brother on the other side of the door. Or was it Monica being dragged out of the house by the gang. Or was it Peter still not getting the clue about Adam being batshit crazy. So many to choose from can't process it all. Get the Haitian in now. Claire send out the signal to call him in. He should stare at the camera hold up his hand and wipe all of our memories of this season. That would be a TV history moment, better than Bobby Ewing stepping out of the shower alive. The ultimate reboot for the show.
-
I'm also a Raiders fan, would you palpably like to get a room?
On topic, last night's ep was terrible except for about 10 mins. One of the apologists mentioned that Adam had 400 years to make himself "immune" to mind reading. Really? 400 years? Do you even watch your own fucking show, moron?
It's just another case where they created a monster with Peter(and sylar) and have to use bad writing to circumvent their powers ending the show in 5 minutes. OF COURSE HE'D FUCKING READ ADAM'S MIND.
It's like bad Star Trek(lol, redundant, I know) where the teleporter would be malfunctioning every 5 minutes or the ep would be over.
ZeroCorpse, stay away from my man, bitch. -
Right on.
-
whats your problem with Adam having 400 years to figure out how to dodge mind-readers? He must've met more than one since being left for dead in feudal Japan.
-
I don't think anyone who admits to being a Raiders fan has a right to call anyone else a moron
-
I'm sorry, did I miss the scene where Peter tries to read his mind and is blocked by Adam's non-TP powered mental gymnastics then explains he's had 400 years to develop that ability?
Could you point me to that episode and scene? Thanks. -
they showed the Company removing Sylar's powers, the Haitian caught the virus, and Victoria Pratt met Shanti. Just because something is not SHOWN to you, doesn't mean it can't be IMPLIED. Adam's been around since the 1670's, orchestrating his revenge against a time traveler. He found a group of super powered people and formed the Company. Parkman's Dad was there, and he can read minds. He can also manipulate people. And yet, Adam managed to betray them all. How'd he get past Parkman's dad? Probably figured out a way to hide his thoughts. HRG thought in Japanese to prevent Parkman from reading his mind, so all you have to do is control your thoughts, and you can trick a mind-reader. It would behard, but with 4 centuries of practice, I'm sure it could be learned.
-
Peter and Mohinder are driving a truck when they come up to an
overpass. A sign says, "Clearance: 11"2'." So they get out, measure
their truck, and realize that it's 11"6'. Peter looks at
the Mohinder and says, "I don't see any cops around....let's go
for it!"
-
Finally got round to watching it, truly awful episode. I think Micahs bag that got stolen has all the plot and dialogue worth a damn in it.
Shocking. If I didnt have huge amounts of free time I'd be done with Heroes now. /boooooooooooo -
Now that Alejandro is dead, people will stop saying "Telemundo Twins". It is almost as annoying as saying "Jessinikki". Please, I beg of you, PLEASE stop using these lame names. It's over Johnny, it's OVER!
-
I'm with you guys re: Sara Rue. Also Carla Gugino is hotter than 99.7% of America's population.
-
makes my butter melt... hard.
-
The show has become a huge stinking pile of cheese riddled with (plot) holes.
I thought it was obvious that Sylar is going to die? Mya will kill last season's "Big Bad", so she can solidify her position as a true "Hero". The actor has left the show- his scenes were filmed prior to starting Trek. We have all seen him in costume on the Star Trek set- so he is gone. (Not to say they can't bring him back- See plot holes above).....but sorry- say goodbye to Sylar. And Nikki. -
Sylar might die, but Zachary Quinto has said in interviews that he is taking some time off and hopes to be back after Trek. I don't think next week is Sylar's swan song; he hasn't done enough awful things this year to warrant his big death. Last year he ruled all and didn't die, and this year he is on a road trip with a hot chick and her brother. He needs to really fuck some shit up before his last episode, and he hasn't done that yet. I'm a big Sylar fan and I guess I just want more out of him before he's gone. But he did say he'd probably be back after he's done playing Spock, so here's hoping.
-
Maya, West, Niki, Bob, Mohinder, Matt, Monica, Nathan, Adam, Micah, Claire and Peter should all bite the dust right about now. Just leave Noah, Hiro, Elle, the Haitian, Sylar & Mama Petrelli and change the name of the show to "Badasses."
Here's an idea, writers!
Volume II Conclusion:
1. Sylar manipulates Maya into killing Mohinder/Molly/Matt at the apartment. He then "rediscovers" his abilities and bashes Maya's brains out. Storyline concludes with Sylar walking off into the sunset for more 'hero-hunting/badassery' in Volume III.
2. Before his death, Mohinder manages to drop by Niki's place; curing her and returning her powers. She then rushes to save Monica, but not before ripping Micah a new one. After kicking numerous gangster asses, the building in which she rescues FedEx-Girl begins to ignite. As the building explodes with Niki still inside, Micah and Monica escape with their lives. Not a moment too soon, a piece of debris crushes them both.
3. Noah returns home to find Claire & Co. gone. He continues his life in Costa Verde without them; hoping to get a MUCH better storyline next season.
4. As Hiro charges towards Peter, he quickly teleports away. Confused, Peter searches for his tubby friend; only to discover he has beheaded his beloved boy-toy, Adam, and retrieved the virus. In a fit of rage, Hiro shoves the vial down Peter's throat. Then, proceeds to bitchslap him a couple of times. Storyline concludes with Hiro fatally stabbing a newly mortal Peter.
5. In on the whole thing, Elle meets Hiro outside of JFK Airport; after frying Daddy Dearest and destroying the Company, of course. They board the first flight to Maui for a week of wacky adventures and electric foreplay.
Damnit! Does this mean I have to go on strike now? -
a super-powered slap fight between Elle and Claire. Just another good idea the writers didn't have.
-
after heroes is done? 1)Life / 2)Lost / 3) Journeyman / 4) Dexter. Which is the better show. someone help me here...
-
Did anyone notice in that scene at the park when Sylar was stroking Mya's hair...on the last stroke, he uses one finger to trace a line across her skull? Sylar just loves her for her mind, not her body!! Ps-Dexter talkback please. It's a crime against geekdom as to why there is no regular Dexter talkback.
-
The one main thing that really irritates me about these "HEROES" is their apparent lack of loyalty.
It seems like whenever they meet someone new, their whole history is forgotten & the only thing that matters is this new "mission".
Mika goes with his newly introduced cousin rather than listen to his sick mom? Peter falls in "love" with his Irish captor's sister & forgets his family (and if he going to save a woman from his past shouldn't it be his "love" from last season)?
Hiro forgets his dad to play in feudal Japan? Then he gives up his childhood hero for some new trim (who he then leaves)? Now he forgets Ando?
Doesn't anyone have a cell phone or an email address for all these other heroes they met a few month's ago? Wouldn't you try to contact the people who helped you save the cheerleader (save the world)? Peter is friend's (or family) with alot of these people.
It just seems like the characters "fall in love" way to easily (Nikki & DL were introduced by Linderman). -
Why7 is it that every time you see Molly she's either asleep or going to sleep? Is this kid ever supposed to be awake?
-
I'm with you on that, especially in Hiro's case with Ando. Ando was by Hiro's side all through the season one adventures and now he just doesn't need him anymore? That's not cool. My man Ando needs to be front and center.
-
Ya, poor Ando keeps getting left behind. They need to hook him and Hiro up with a plotline again.
-
a) the director of last night's episode is a complete douchenozzle.
b) Ned Ryerson is a clever guy.
c) Ned Ryerson is a pervert. -
How does Sylar have healer blood?I am not sure Peter's healing power is constantly running through his body. I am pretty sure all of his power comes from his mind, so it might be that they can't draw that blood unless his mind tells his body to make the fancy blood, especially if his powers are being supressed so he doesn't irradate everyone. Peter needs his primary power to use his secondary healing power.
-
I know many people here just don't ever leave grandma's basement, but why is it so outrageous to find stupid people on TV. Have you folks ever been to a Wal-Mart?With all that said, Syalar's power shut-down should prove to Mohinder that Bob is lying about everything. Bob says the virus is there to stop someone with powers, but they were already able to shut down Sylar's powers...so why do they need the virus?
-
Peter wants to preserve the time-line so he can go back and find his new girlfriend. If he doesn't release the virus, then she gets erased. I'd also figure Adam is capable of thinking in reverse psychology. At the very least he is capable of healing his mind, which is a display of more than a passing awareness of mental powers.
-
And Elle survives, then I'll be happy.
-
Less on-screen time than it took Charles Logan to bang Martha on the season 6 finale of 24. If Kring and company want to hitch their wagons to Maya, Micah, Monica or GiNikkiCa and jettison an actress who TV critics love, whose Elle is by far the show's most complex new character, charisma to burn, media savvy and has great chemistry with practically every one of her co-stars, you have your 2007 inductees for the AICN Hall of Stupid.
-
Peter said he couldn't get back. He doesn't have that kind of control or for whatever reason he can't do it. I can shoot a basket, I can bowl a strike, but I can't do it all the time. Peter could very well ask Hiro to go back, or how to go back in the next episode, or he could hold a grudge against Hiro, for something his dad did, or something Adam told him. In theory, whatsherface would be in a time that never happens. That timeline would be gone, so she would be gone, or at least she wouldn't be somewhere Peter could find her. It doesn't seem like Peter and Hiro have the ability to pick alternate timelines to visit, although they do have the ability to redirect the timeline they are on.
-
A virus that cures someone's powers = X-Men: The Last Stand (ie fucking garbage).
Come on, it's such a played out and cliched plot device. -
Either Peter or Hiro have to go. They're both overpowered. Hiro now just jumps everywhere and has become a walking plot device. With Peter they have to spend all their time inventing ways to curb his powers. The show has taken the promise of having these people come together and use their various powers in a complementary way and shat on it with Peter.
-
I think Peter's going to the Dark Side (at least partially). Hiro's gonna live, just based on the fact that in Season 1 we saw Cool, Calm and Collected Hiro from the future.
-
would make me like him again. I liked him when he was darker last season, and all of his scenes with Claude (who I miss). I think he would make a great villain for Volume 3. Nathan too, but I don't see it happening.
-
The 'future Hiro' was from an alternate future where Peter blew up in New York, not miles above it. They changed the future, so that version of Hiro never existed. Then again he's easily one of the most recognisable characters to the general public so that gives a good bit of protection.
-
It would make a lot of casual fans stop watching. He is a very endearing character and really does bring a lot of heart to the show. A universe like this needs some wide-eyed wonderment to offset the bleakness of it all. Now if only he would go back to said wide-eyed wonderment. Also...doesn't the s.o.b. ever sleep or take a piss?! Seems like as soon as he jumps from one "time" to another he has another realization and has to go somewhere else. Let the motherfucker's head hit pillow!
-
If Peter isn't the villain for Volume 3 then Parkman needs to be. I want to see more "COME BACK HERE AND FINISH YOUR FUCKING CEREAL" moments.
-
Mohinder, Matt, and Peter in particular are all showing they're willing to bad things for what they think is the greater good. I think it is possible more than one of the previous heroes will be villains in a future volume(assuming that happens). Hiro has learned from his father's and the older generation's mistakes that they shouldn't abuse their powers. Claire learned and grew because of her adoptive father. Mohinder's dad wasn't much of a father to him. Matt's dad is a monster. At least one of Peter's parents were bad, probably both of them, and his family was very disfunctional. Nathan falls even further into that category, but I'm pegging him for a dead man in the finale. Top that off and Micha learned to be a hero from his dad, and will probably continue on that path with his cousin while his mom will either die or turn bad.
-
Which is sad because he isn't given much of a farewell. He was so great last season (wow, don't I seem to be saying that about everyone? weird.) but this year he is basically a prop. Things started out well but it just seems like he has been forgotten. If he dies, and he probably will because they have made him expendable lately, there has been absolutely no build for the big scene. Shame.
-
this season has been great from episode one...dont know what some of u are smoking ....it was a slow buildup..the same as last year....and im sure killing mayas brother was not in response to u whiny fucks not liking him.....prob part of the plan the whole time.. a couple of retards to keep sylar company on his way back to ny...expendable.....and i hate how u whiners are all experts on "plot devices" and "reset buttons"...does anyone actually watch a good show to enjoy it and not nitpick it to death. "kring should read comic books to see what a real supervillain would do" what kinda shit is that ...the show has been great, but not for a bunch of whiny ass, impatient, want an explanation for every single thing, wanna see powers all the time, people....
-
In Season one we learned that Mohinder's sister Shanti had a "genetic defect" that could be cured by antibodies in Mohinder's blood. But she died before Mohinder was born. At least that is what his dad said.
Since we know many Heroes share the same abilities, I believe Maya has the same "special powers" as Shanti. Maya will go postal when she learns Sylar killed her brother . So the "Shanti Virus" is Maya. But maybe Mohinder will be able to stop her since his power (that his parents had hoped he would have to save his sister) will manifest and be just like Alejandro's. -
I wonder if Mohinder's dad actually killed Shanti because she was too dangerous. That would fuck a dude up in the head, maybe even to the point where he was intentionally helping Sylar, as Sylar suggested. I'd also wonder what the heck his powers were, and if Sylar has ever used them.
-
That is an interesting idea, I just wish there was more time to develop something like that for the finale. It's crazy that there is only one episode left with so much to wrap up! I'm sure there will be loose ends for the next Volume, which is a good thing. We need a good cliffhanger anyway. And Slkboxerman: yeah there are a lot of whiners here, but I just block them out. There are also those of us who really, truly enjoy the show. We have just become so attached to so many of the characters and we have certain ideas in our heads of where we *wish* the stories would go, and we get a little bit huffy when things don't go our way. I'm guilty of it at times, but I always defend the show. I love it. Even the lesser episodes have given me entertainment on one level or another. I know what this show can be, and I know it will get back on track. Until then I will watch every week, without fail, and enjoy it. Even when Sylar isn't on a crazy killing spree and there isn't a fucking incredible moment like Eve's suicide from last season. This is my favorite drama week after week, and I am totally unapologetic about it.
-
I even like Suresh.
-
One of you made a prediction that I think I'm going to subscribe to myself: Sylar will eat Adam's brain and become the immortal villain of next season.
-
Do you all remember how impressed we were with Claire's dad when he seemed to choose on that bridge to have the Hatian erase all of his memories of Claire? I personally remember almost crying then. That was the highlight of the last season.
And then they went and ruined it. It turned out that we'd been had; the Hatian had only erased the most recent memories of Claire. And then began the mad plunge to the bitterly anti-climactic ending, the best aspect of which was seeing Hiro fall helplessly out of the sky and into medieval Japan.
And now look at it. It's a mess. We have characters acting out-of-character (hopeless romantic nurse Peter became paranoid invstigator Peter, who became a thug who looks and acts like Neo). And he never ever uses his abilities when he ought to. He could have read Adam's mind, but he didn't; he could have turned invisible in the paper factory, but he didn't; he could have done anything. Lest we forget what he can now do:he can shoot lightning bolts from his handshe is physically indestructablehe can read other people's thoughtshe can project his own thoughts into others' mindshe can manipulate others by touching themhe can manipulate others by speaking to themhe can flyhe can blow uphe can become invisiblehe can use telekinesishe has super hearinghe can walk through wallshe has super-strengthhe can demolecularize objectshe can travel through timeshe can teleporthe can see the future in visionshe has a photographic memoryhe can turn things into solid goldAM I THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS THIS STUFF??? THE GUY IS TOO POWERFUL!!! -
I forgot one more: he can resusitate the recently deceased.
I mean holy cow. h o l y c o w
There is only one person who is more powerful than he, and it is the Hatian. -
Seriously, somebody, tell me that you are not astonished at all of that. Tell me that you still have doubts that Peter will survive into next season. Tell me that you honestly think that Sylar has a chance. Because y'know what? He doesn't!!! The show has painted itself into a corner. Peter absorbs the powers of anyone he approaches. And that means that the second that Sylar tries to use the twins' powers on him, he will have already absorbed all of them.
Where are you, you Heroes writers? I know you read these boards. Why did you do that? Furthermore -- even worse! -- why aren't you playing by the very rules you established?? It makes no sense. Heroes was so great until that one, aforementioned episode. After that, it devolved into the train wreck it is now. How are you going to write us out of this? I mean, what, are you going to do what someone suggested much earlier and trap Peter in a block of cement? That might work. NOT! He'd just blow the thing up! You've made the same mistake the writers behind Superman Returns made: you made your character too powerful. We know he'll win. We know he'll come out on top. And y'know what, if he doesn't, it will necessarily be because something is going to happen that will change the rules you already wrote.
Heroes was the perfect show. It was flawless. -
(1) We'll have one minute of fighting before Hiro gets knocked out. However, he'll have sowed just enough seeds of doubt in Peter's mind which will lead us to...(2) Adam gets holds of the virus and Peter seems to be going along with it. HOWEVER, at the last minute he tries to cut off Adam's head with Hiro's sword but Adam stops him (possibly whilst laughing evily). HOWEVER...(3) Hiro reappears and takes up his sword. One minute of fighting later and Adam is dead.(4) Nikki rescues Mimic Girl from the nasty gang but is shot as she walks away and dies in Micah's arms whilst telling him to be a hero from no one...(5) Sylar finally gets his powers back and kills his new girlfriend. Show ends with Sylar using his girlfriend's power to kill Mo before walking away to wipe out the world...

1. Hero destroying Peter in the fight with supreme use of his abilities (in tone with this season, Peter's abilities don't really evolve, he still can barely read minds, can't control time travel, while Parkman and Hero becoming masters of their talents)
2. The Shanti Virus - Maya connection - Mohinder's ability to dissolve the tears - being the only one who can face a Maya, or a mayad up Sylar. That would be awesome.
3. Adam and a powered Sylar seemingly disappearing in the two final confrontations, only to have a last shot of Adam with an "Ill be back laugh" than horror on his face when a thin red line appears on his forehead. Launch time. I still can't hate the show somehow. -
with Sylar in that scene? I mean, didn't she search for him at the end of last season? Shouldn't she have known he was a bad guy?
-
Sylar told Mohinder on the phone he "convinced the babysitter to take the night off" or something to that effect...probably killed her or something. Judging by the time, Mohinder had probably taken a late-night flight to New Orleans, and with Matt searing for Victoria Pratt, I guess they'd called Nanny 911.

How Dare You Make Light of Hayden Pannitiere's "Ordeal"
by andre the frog
They poked her with a pole, for god's sake. "With a POLE". And then she had to watch a dolphin become cat food. It's a wonder that the poor girl can even TRY to act.

by any hillbilly with a shotgun, at least according to Adam. Virtually every power we have seen requires some practice to use. To Peter, every power he absorbs requires some practice to use. Sometimes they go off involuntary, but for the most part, he hasn't come close to mastering any of his secondary powers. It seems to me that Parkman could also kick Peter's ass. He could just lock him up in that room with his dad if he wanted to. Peter's ability to "blow up" or radiate energy is not an asset, it wasn't an asset for Ted either. Ted killed people on accident. It would seem that ability requires Peter to maintain a mellow attitude or everyone around him dies. Thus one more reason for him to intentionally hold back his powers.
-
... for this unrescueable mess of a show?
-
neither did Shanti. She just died of the virus. humans can die of the virus too.
-
He has the power of ANTI-KICKASS. Whilst HRG uses his KICKASS power to destroy anyone who gets in his way, the same power does not work in the presence of Indian-Cab-Driver-Man.
-
im a big british fan of the show..our tele is the most remarkable shite on earth so even when a show like this doesnt hit the stride it did last year it still blasts the holy shit out of the garbage we produce! However i do agree with everyone else here in sayin the real problem at the moment is that peter is just WAY to powerful and throws everything else out of whack! i dont know if i want him written out because he has potential, but maybe they could explain him to be some sort of power battery...when he's full he cant absorb anymore...he could even ditch some powers to make way for others! its fairly obvious to see that without doing something like this he couldnt even turn evil on us because he's so powerful he'd be a shit bad guy...the season need only be an episode long so he can just blow us all up! cut him down a bit and give sylar his abilities back and your half way there...then all u need is to make adam a decent villian rather than make him act like the assitant to a bond villian!
-
Don't make him the main villain though. Have Peter realize from his experience that these powers need to be curbed then have him and Nathan take over the Company from their mother. Have Matt join them and have Suresh make him a Professor X helmet to increase the range of his psychic ability (I just like that image). Have Elle become Sylar's minion, and have them kill her father and Sylar steal his transmutation ability, so Sylar can go off and give himself the trappings of a real supervillain in preparation for his triumphant return at Season end. Send Claire to college so we never have to see her family again. Have HRG go back to helping people with powers escape the Company. Have Claire, Hiro, Ando, Niki, Micah, Monica, and some new Heroes come together to stop a new threat.
-
I vote "St. Elsewhere Ending". Just have the camera pull back to show some autistic kid staring into a snow globe.
-
Three albatrosses erased in one stroke.
-
What a giant middle finger that finale was. As if we are supposed to believe some douche kid imagined that entire series? They might as well have just put "FUCK YOU" on the screen in huge letters.
-
I know the strike is a major factor, but for sure the story has get very choppy and all over the board. It's time to kill off a lot of players, clear the board, and start a new story line. I always thought the virus thing was lame. Considering the powers of the heroes, it could have been much more imaginative.
-
Yay: Hiro, the Petrellis, Ando, Claire, HRG, the Haitian Sensation, Elle, Sylar (reluctantly).
Nay: Everybody else. -
I was also thinking about that today... the ridiculous amount of power Peter has.
Shoots Electricity
Regeneration
Eternal Life
Time Travel
Teleportation
Time Freezing
Astral Projection
Phasing through objects
Flight
Invisibility
Telekinesis
Super Hearing
Telepathy
Super Strength
Technopathy
Radioactive power
Freezing with extreme cold
Melting/demolecularizing objects
Turning objects to gold
Able to paint the future
Sylar's ability to understand the way things work/fix things
photographic memory
+ any other power that Sylar had but hasn't displayed
I didn't include dead pixie girl's persuasion voice because I couldn't remember if he had met her at all last year.
He's Dragonball Z powerful.... -
Dude - you're doing backflips to explain shit that the writers should be explaining. Not that your explanations don't necessarily make sense, but - they're totally your opinion and have no hard basis from the show to support them. You say Peter has to remain calm to not blow up; he looked pretty non-calm in some Ireland scenes to me. And even if that weren't the case; the idea is pure conjecture. Ditto with the idea that they couldn't have gotten "healer blood" from Peter. At the very least, his healing power kicks in when he's being hurt, and he's producing "healer blood" at that point, and - let's be honest - would the company not be willing to keep a spike driven through Pete's heart if that's what it took to get his precious precious blood. And even if they couldn't get Pete's blood, they had Adam in custody for how long? His blood definitely does heal, and still they need Claire's blood? If they had Adam for a number of years (as implied), and they had done periodic blood withdrawals, they'd have more than a little to work with. You say that Peter (according to Adam) is killable by any hillbilly with a shotgun, and I repeat my earlier question: How could Adam know that? If he's had his head chopped off and been perma-killed because of it, then he wouldn't be around to tell us about it, and if he hasn't had it happen, how could he know that that would do the trick? And to answer your question to me - as long as you're conjecturing like a mofo, I'm conjecturing about Sylar's healer blood given that he was stabbed through the fucking torso with a sword a mere 3 - 4 months ago in show time and he's feeling exactly zero ill effects from it. Then again, maybe that's not right, since Parkman was shot repeatedly, and seems to be feeling fine, too. In both cases, this is sloppy storytelling, and it's indicative of one of this season's big problems - not remembering or acknowledging the events of last season. The bottom line is - as I said earlier - the show is requiring too much suspension of disbelief right now - not because of people with crazy powers, but because of people with crazy powers acting like they don't know about the powers they have, or just plain doing dumb things.
-
Or dude-ettes with the 'steal' ability, then he/she can keep on stealing his abilities until he's down to a more manageable amount, no?
-
Sylar killed and de-brained pixie girl, too. So Peter has it.
-
She shot herself in the head so he couldn't get her powers. She may have run into Peter at some point.
-
If a handful of heroes is good, a lot more must be better right? Then of course they could not keep track of all the interactions and fucked it up, the fuckers! Get new writers or simplify it! Then you get more interesting characterizations.
-
The writers shouldn't have to explain everything. Some things can be inferred and some things may be explained later. Its like peole that complain about the characters on Lost not asking enough questions. Do you realy need to see someone ask a question and have someone else say "I'm not telling" or "I don't know" every 5 minutes? Some things are better left unexplained. Lets leave explaining things that shouldn't be explained to George Lucas.Sylar was still feeling ill effects from the sword wound at the start of the season, which is a pretty long time to recover from something like that. It would seem that as of the finale, he has no powers at all, including healing ability. There has been more evidence that Sylar doesn't have healing blood than evidence that he does.
-
How could you not remember what was a Top 5 scene from last season? Eve's suicide is definitely one of the greats.
-
Has anyone else been typing quickly and accidentally keyed in Herpes instead of Heroes? That seems to happen to me a lot for some reason. Maybe my fingers are trying to tell me something.
-
Being riddled with bullets by Parkman back when he was trying to get Molly Walker early in season 1. I know some say he kind of "TK-blocked" the bullets so he didn't take the full impact. Also got the crap shot out of him by HRG's super company gun last year too.... can't remember how they explained it though (I think there was some mention in the graphic novels, but are those really cannon?) It would be cool to see Sylar use TK to stop himself from bleeding.
-
I guess you're right in a sense; I don't want the writers to explain everything. But a general idea of how peoples' powers work in a show about people with powers doesn't seem too far a stretch. And the difference right now between this show and Lost is that Lost is keeping me interested enough in what's going on that I'm probably not getting nitpicky about some of that show's flaws in the way that I am starting to get nitpicky here. It bugged me to a lesser extent last season too - one example being that if Hiro can freeze time, and Sylar couldn't do that (unless he killed Hiro and ate his brain), then shouldn't Hiro have simply frozen time, lopped of Sylar's head, and then restarted time? Maybe that would have been unheroic, I don't know. I just know that for one reason or another, I've really been noticing what seem like logical inconsistencies in this show, and that's not a good thing.
-
Hiro tried that last season with Sylar. I don't remember what happened that it didn't work. I think it was in Sylar's mother's house. Also, that is what he was trying to do to Adam in this week's episode until Peter stepped in.
-
Right... and Mohinder happens to have two vials of virus antidote. I just realized that one of them is going into Sylar, who will then regain all his powers.
-
I remember the scene you're referring to. But Eve was unsuccessful. Watching the scene again might reveal that Sylar forced her to point the gun away from her just before firing the shot. You're right that she tried to kill herself. But he stopped her. That's why Sylar was able to use that same power on the painter later to tell him how he was going to be stopped, just before he killed him, too.
-
I remember that scene. Hiro froze time immediately after Sylar killed his mother. He brought the sword to his neck, solemnly apologized to Sylar for having to kill him, and began to pull his sword back to thrust it forward and remove the villain's head. But just as the blade began to swing toward the cannibal, it froze. Hiro became confused. Sylar then turned around and indicated that, on the contrary, he was about to kill Hiro. Shurprised and confused, but still with his wits about him, the time traveler squinted and vanished to safety. No explanation was ever given as to how Sylar freed himself from the time freeze. Of course, that was not the only time that Sylar exhibited a power or ability that viewers had been unaware that he possessed. Two other examples would be his quietly levitating toward the auto mechanic with super hearing before he killed her, and turning a faucet into a snow spewer for his mother in a very Tim Burton-esque scene... before he killed her.
-
Constantly implied throughout Season One was that Sylar had the power of a cockroach to survive things that he ought not be able to survive. Of course, he also has the ability to instinctively know how things function mechanically. He originally used that ability to fix broken time pieces. Then he met a "hero" and knew via that ability that by removing his brain (and presumably absorbing it or a part of it) he could acquire that hero's power. Once he found that out, he became "hungry" (his words) for more. Thus began his villainous hobby. Of course, the earliest episodes of Season One also suggested that he was a "predator:" one who must feast upon others to survive.
-
Sylar levitated/flew away when he fought Parkman and the F.B.I. agent way before he met the hearing lady. Before he even had the face of Quinto and was just a shadowy murderman. I am pretty sure they've laid groundwork that gives him an ability to be named later, but I still don't think he has super-healer blood in the same sense as Claire and Adam, since he wanted that ability when he went to Texas, and he wanted that ability in the future when he was President Nathan.
-
"he didn't lose his powers due to being gutted"
I thought it had been already stated that the whole powers flashing before his eyes thing after he got stabbed was his powers going away. I guess they could always rewrite that for the show, or they could say someone like Sulu poisoned Hiro's sword and that is what actually caused him to be messed up. -
It's Eden. I must admit that I was only reminded of her name while trying to find a recap of the episode in which she may or may not have been successful in her suicide. I swear she did it!.....5 minutes later.....According to the NBC recap of the episode (#11 "Fallout"), Sylar shoots her in the head. WTF?! My memory tells me she killed herself, just as I thought that's what happened while originally watching the episode. The fact that she did not commit suicide in a heroic attempt to keep him from being able to eat her brain (which I guess may not have worked anyway) really takes away from the weight of the scene for me. It was one of my favorites. (This is where I walk away, arms dangling by my sides and head down, like George Michael in Arrested Development)
-
it's has been revealed in the clips from next week that Sylar lost his powers because he has the Shanti virus.
Also there are THREE deaths next week, not two. -
over Sylar shooting her in the head. That totally defeats his purpose. Did Sylar get the Shanti virus when he killed Mohinder's daddy? That would be a shitty power. Like one of those poison tree frogs. Your power is, if anyone eats your brain, they get a horrible disease! Deaths are neat and it is past my bedtime.
-
Remember that? A few episodes ago? Now, apparently you just have to blow of his head. Heroes is amazing...it can screw up its own logic within just a few episodes.
-
And if my memory serves me right, Mohinder cured her with his blood. If that's the case, than that's another example of forgetful writers on this show.
I can see why they'd want the blood of someone with a healing factor though, so they can endlessly draw blood from them in order to cure a large amount of people.
But even still, why didn't Mohinder remember that he can cure the virus with his own blood. Sheesh.
And speaking of the virus, it wasn't just in the clips for next week episode. They said Sylar had the virus way early on in the season, hence his reason to find Mohinder this season. -
they said as much in a previous episode. His blood didn't cure Nikki/Jessica's virus.
-
She really did blow her head away. So now, how in the world did Sylar get her ability?
Eden's Selfless Suicide

I was tempted to pull the DVD when I got home last night (I T.B. to pass time during lulls at work) but it was 2:30 a.m. when I got home and was too tired. I'm glad the NBC recap was incorrect because as I've said a few times, it was one of my very favorite scenes of last season. And really, I'm not completely sure that Sylar has Eden's ability. Otherwise he would use it all the time (on Alejandro, for example). I could be wrong on that though, who knows. I'm just glad Eden really did do it herself (even though the video of it is blocked here).

Hers was perhaps one of the briefest stories told in Heroes. But it was one of the best. She was a good-hearted villain working for a bad-hearted corporation trying to do good things. In the end, she made a sacrifice comparable to Noah's shortly thereafter. She has been missed, although it might have been for the best that her character has not been available to the writers for them to rape, as they have other ones lately. With regard to that very matter, I would like to propose that we who despise what the show has become but cannot find it within our capabilities to miss a single episode pretend that this series was based entirely on fanfiction, who madly rushed and took over the writers' studio when the original penners ascended into a higher realm of story telling (^_^)
-
I don't despise what the show has become. I'm disappointed at times, sure, but it's still my favorite drama on television. Of course I'd like to see Ando do more than sit at a desk and/or read and yeah I'd like it if Nathan would have had more of a presence this season, and sure I want more of Parkman's "COME BACK HERE AND EAT YOUR FUCKING CEREAL" scenes, but I don't hate the show. The fact that this season gave us that cereal scene makes it a little better for me. Plus, I don't know if anyone on this TalkBack has noticed, but Kristen Bell is pretty hot. I may be the only one on that one, I don't know. I don't really see much written about her here.
-
Pennsy showed us his pic with KB, and has 'enlightened' us with KB's pics in the Journeyman talkback.
-
If there is anyone left here, the Kristen Bell thing was a joke on the huge amount of Bell talk in these TBs. Thought that was obvious.
-
Did we already know the plans are for Parkman to do another episode of Lost? They were scrolling that last night on G4.
