Elektra teaming up with David Brent for THIS SIDE OF THE TRUTH?!?
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I wrote up a piece on this film, THIS SIDE OF THE TRUTH, when it was first announced. One, I'm a huge Ricky Gervais fan and two, it sounds like a really funny movie. It's set in a world where lying doesn't exist and one regular joe (Gervais) figures out how to fib and uses it to his advantage. One of these advantages seems to be wooing a woman way out of his league and that woman looks to be played by one Jennifer Garner.
Matthew Robinson wrote the script (and has since worked with Gervais on it) and will co-direct with Ricky Gervais. Can't wait to find out more about this one! What about you?

Gervais is awesome, and even as funny as the American Office is, it still doesn't have what the British had. Although, there are times when Carrell tops Gervais' performance.

Gervais was great in the office and extras but he has never worked in a film. His appearances in Night At The Museum, For Your Consideration, Stardust etc are always just his same schtick and always stop the movie dead - plus have never once been funny. I hope for his sake that he's going to break away from that one note performance as he takes leads in this and Ghost Town but I suspect not. Gervais has had his day, he should be left to go in peace now.

However, if Jennifer Garner has time to appear in this flick, she was available for Wonder Woman.

I had this exact same idea for a movie about five years ago. I was going to call it "Truearth". Never got around to writing it though.
