Guttenberg! Guttenberg! THE WELL! Guttenberg!

Published at:  Nov 19, 2007 1:59:09 AM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Yeah, so THE WELL sounds like a crappy Lifetime movie, but it's a real flick made by real people, not the unreal people who run Lifetime and Oxygen. So, it's a celebration. Steve Guttenberg has not only just completed a film for Warner Bros (called MAJOR MOVIE STAR co-starring Jessica Simpson), but he's doing this melodramatic-sounding movie called THE WELL where he plays a father going through a nasty divorce when he finds out his kid has disappeared... if I had to guess, I'd say the kid's in a well. Don't know exactly where I got that idea from, but that's what my gut is telling me THE WELL will be about...

Like I said... the movie doesn't sound all that good on the surface, but it's Guttenberg. Now if we can only get him and Fisher Stevens to re-team for SHORT CIRCUIT 3 all will be right with the world...

You know Guttenberg and Michael Winslow aren't doing anything these days.TNG of Police Academy needs to happen. If there super lucky and put up the cash they might be able to get Kim Catrell back. Now that would be awesome.

    by filmcoyote

Saw a hideous hideous promo trailer at AFM for this. It's a Private Benjamin rip-off with Jessica Simpson and zero-laughs (at least there aren't any in the promo so you have to assume they couldn't find any, right?) Still, good to see Stevie G's getting work again. What he really needs though is for Tarantino or Rodriguez to cast him in something - do i hear Guttenberg for Inglorious Bastards QT, go on, you know you want to!

    by jackgraham

the guy had that everyman quality, he was similar to tom hanks in a way, but clearly hanks was sent the better scripts, but its good to know that hes still around, even if we dnt see that much of him anymore unless we watch straight to dvd stuff. i grew up in the 80's so im obviously a big fan of short circuit, police academy, cocoon, three me and a baby/lady, he didnt make the best choices career wise, he made one to many police academys, but he also had the brains to not appear in dross like short circuit 2 and police academy 5 to 7. id love to see the resurgence of guttenberg on the big screen, travolta did a comeback, so did mickey rourke, and they both appeared in some seriously stinky movies.

    by thegreatwhatzit

This overage starlet thought that she'd transform into a "movie star" after the cancellation of SEX/CITY. But have you ever heard of ICE PRINCESS? TIGER'S TAIL? I think Hollywood seriously underestimates middle-aged women but Cattrall's (lack of) sex appeal is somewhere in the middle of the "pathetic/desperation" barometer. She and Sharon Stone are the Edy Williams surrogates of the new millennium.

    somerichs - alopecia possibly?

    by trader groucho 2

I don't know if Steve Guttenberg has this, but many people suffer from various strains of Alopecia, which basically means spot hair loss. It can happen anywhere on the body. I about lost an eyebrow for awhile, and portions of my beard, which later came back snow white for a spell before returning to my natural color.

I went to a doctor, because sometimes spot hair loss can be a symptom of something more serious. Alopecia can also be brought on by stress or even diet. Just one of those little things to watch out for.

Honestly, you are a sad, sad man..

    by redbox

Picking on Guttenberg? Why not pick on the homeless? People who kick a guy when he's so down for so long, don't do anything but show themselves to be the mouth breathers they are. Shattner says it all in "Hasbeen." "Riding on their armchairs
They dream of wealth and fame
    Fear is their companion
    Nintendo is their game
Never done jack and two thumbs Don
    And sidekick don't say dick
    We'll laugh at others failures
Though they have not done shit" In a few years, Tarantino will cast Guttenberg as the lead in something and a Travolta-like rebirth will occur. Guttenberg will be everywhere: John Woo films, Late Night TV, Desperate Housewhores and Farm Aid. All the folks who were kicking him will be the first to praise him and DVR his special on Inside The Actors Studio. Yer a bunch a sheep. Baaaa!

it must have been so bad I purged it from memory. Guttenberg should go back to doing Mahoney. It's what he was best at apparently. And since the studios are so keen to re-do everythign from the 80's, it woudl seem an opportune time to revive the Police Academy films.
