BNAT 9 Tickets Available For Purchase!

Published at:  Nov 19, 2007 4:35:32 AM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... Well, the tickets for BUTT-NUMB-A-THON 9 are officially on sale!!! That's right, if your name was on that LIST - you have the ability to purchase a BNAT ticket. If your name wasn't on that list, you can still buy a ticket... it just means you won't have a seat and your ticket purchase will just go 100% towards sponsoring the year round SATURDAY MORNING KIDS CLUB film series that BNAT sponsors.

The tickets for BNAT went up in price this year $6 over the price they've been the last two years, this is to make up for having less seats - and to allow us to continue to cover the cost of the event and the Kids club. So they're $66. This covers the costs involved in film rentals, shippings, the poster, the t-shirt and the sponsorship of the Saturday Morning Kids Club. You have till December 1st to purchase your tickets - if you have problems with the Alamo's Online Ticket Purchasing system - write me at this address and I'll make sure you get some help.

to do but wait in line for the standby. It's a random drawing, correct? You just need to be within the amount of people that receive tickets to have an opportunity on that Saturday morning?

    66 dollars?

    by bluemcpoo

I can pay a bum 10 dollars to suck Eli Roth off verbally and it would be more entertaining.

If you purchase a ticket, you don't get a seat...but can you stand? And/or maybe bring your own folding chairs? Or is it just a complete donation, where you buy a ticket, but have absolutely no expectations of being able to participate in BNAT at all...? Does buying a ticket give you any benefit if you plan on lining up outside BNAT to try to get in through the standby line?

If you buy a ticket and you're not on the list, it's a kind donation. Best thing to do is bring cash and wait in standby, from what I know. But what I don't know is how early to get there for standby...

    by george newman

You wait in a line. you're all given a number. the numbers are picked out of a hat

    Whoa..."random standby?"

    by remcycle

How fucking unfair is that? It should seriously be the same as the fanboys who waited for a week to get into The Phantom Menace, or those of us here in Austin who waited days on end to get into Lord British's Haunted House back in the day...picking numbers out of a hat is complete bullshit.

    I seem to remember

    by coffeeandcinema

I seem to remember from the one time I attended in the past that people inside were elected to go out and interview the standby line. It was a bit like the application process and the interviewers had to choose who got in. Don't know if it's done that way anymore, though. I think that would be a good way to do it. That way if there are any people who drove halfway across the country just to be in the standby line they'd have a higher chance of getting in.

    Standby

    by hippolyta

I think the whole point of random standby is so you can enjoy BNAT once you get in! If you are sleeping on the sidewalk for a week it'd be difficult to enjoy staying up for another 24 hrs. I don't think the line-up starts before 9 or 10am.

    Standby line

    by podkayne8

Last year it was lottery style. You got a raffle ticket and they called out numbers. (I tried the standby line last year without success :p) The drafthouse BNAT page has standby info - lottery style again. http://www.originalalamo.com/Show.aspx?id=4948

    by podkayne8

Ooops. The link does work, dunno how that pesky space got in there. You can also just go to the Alamo Ritz calendar to Dec 8th and click on BNAT. The info is there. If it is current or not or subject to change, I have no idea. Good luck!

Looking forward to my first visit to Austin. It's a real shame that "The Wizard" reunion got canceled AFTER I bought tickets and booked my flight from Oregon to Texas. :(

This'll be my first time visiting Texas. Are there any good barbecue joints around Austin?
