UPDATED!! GHOSTBUSTERS 3 Is Finally In Development!?!? But...
Merrick again...
A bit more information about the game is drifting in.
All four members of the movie team -- Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis -- will be giving voice and likeness rights for the game. Some supporting castmembers have signed up as well, including William Atherton, Brian Doyle Murray and Annie Potts.
In addition, film scribes Aykroyd and Ramis will pen a story for the vidgame that takes place in the early '90s, after "Ghostbusters II," during a new ghoul invasion of New York City.
...says THIS ARTICLE in Variety.
Also, the folks over at Kotaku seem to have scored a rather spectacular image from the game, which you can see HERE.
More info as more comes in.

Merrick here...
Seems GHOSTBUSTERS 3 is coming around at last, but not in the way many were anticipating.
Game Informer has revealed the cover of its December issue, which you can see HERE!
The cover is contextualized thusly:
Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are getting back together and revisiting their roles to make a sequel to Ghostbusters 1 and 2 – in video-game form, and we’ve got the first details. Both Aykroyd and Ramis are teaming up for scriptwriting duties and are going far beyond just the typical licensed add-your-voice-to-the-game-you-had-nothing-to-do-with formula.
The write-up accompanying the cover image also says this project is unrelated to the footage that hit the Nets earlier this year...spectacular material which seemed to be built around the Unreal engine.
This is an interesting direction for the franchise. It's not as altogether cool as having a new movie to wait for (although I didn't think the second film was particularly good), but it does seem preferable to restarting the mythos with a new cast (or something like that).
Presumably Monki from AICN Games will have more on this project as it develops...

No more fake sequels.
-
However if they really could make a great Ghostbusters movie, I'd much rather see that. But whether the game is good or bad, I'll surely play it.
-
this makes me happy. love ghostbusters and with transformers, thundercats, TMNT and gi joe all coming back valiant comics cant be far behind:)
-
...whatever...

not me...
-
Trying to market a 20-year-old movie to a generation that doesn't know what hell Ghostbusters is. Brilliant.
-
Bastards!
-
Will someone hire Dan Akroyd so he'll stop trying to relive past glory. What's next, another Blues Brothers movie?
-
WTF - no love for Ernie?
-
If they do make another Blues Brothers, they better get Jack Black.
-
Seriously, is Ernie Hudson THAT busy?
-
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

I love how Merrick refers to the video game department is if it is cutting edge. It is cut and paste. That is what it is....
-
Wii-capable if not Wii-enabled 4TW.
-
Plenty of kids know what Ghostbusters is. And the target market for the game is 20-30 something geeks... ALL of whom know Ghostbusters. So yeah... nice try.
-
Wow...vague news about something that's far off in the future. No pictures or anything? Does the GAMEINFORMER article have pics?

I wonder if the game will be set in present day or 1990?
by reel american hero
I wonder if this will bring the story to the present or will it be set shortly after part 2 I wonder.. -
...But what about Ray Parker Jr and Ernie Hudson? We need some representation in the house!
-
It's been a long day..my bad. -
Don't cross the streamers now...
-
For the love of god get an established, quality dev on this. Not fucking EA.
-
Did they really think that people would rather have a new GB video game than a new GB movie? I swear, some people are just fucking dumb.
-
The movie had it's flaws, but was overall a good sequel. The best thing about it was the opening of the film. In GB1, we leave the heroes having saved the world. Everybody is cheering for them. They are gods. 5 years pass, and forced into early retirement, they're making petty cash doing childrens' birthday parties. Venkman doesn't get the girl. She ditched him and had a kid with some other guy. It's all kind of sad, and a great foundation from which to watch them rise once again. There are great jokes, and excellent set pieces. Who didn't enjoy watching the statue of liberty walk? I've always dreamt there would be another good ghostbusters game. We can't forget the GB game for the sega master system. Brilliant game way beyond its time. But a FPS GB would be awesome. It's a bit disappointing, though, to see that this might mean there isn't another movie in the works. Ghostbusters Hellbent would have been a great sequel in CGI. You can't make another live action ghostbusters movie for one reason alone- The Ghostbusters is more than just the concept, it is the characters, therefore it would be a bad idea to bring new Ghostbusters in, yet the ghostbusters we knew and loved are a bit aged, gained some extra lbs, and probably wouldn't want to be making action comedies at their age. CGI would be a brilliant approach. However, let's wait and see how things pan out. Whichever way things work out, it looks like we'll be entertained nonetheless.
-
Roflmao, what a stupid idea that was.

-
I'm a big gamer but this is a disappointment to me if it means we don't get another movie. LAME!
-
Hope it's just an update of that awsome game. (what? WHAT?)
-
Okay 2 wasn't so good as the first but I still very much enjoy it. I like this game idea but as Merrick said a film would be cooler, why would Murray do a game but not a film?
-
Ghostbusters 2 had extensive re-shoots. There was a scene they shot where Ray gets possessed by Viggo and he goes crazy while driving the Ecto 1. Winston punches him out before he can crash the Ecto 1 into a tree. Also, they altered the final act significantly... The slime covering the museum was supposed to suck the mayor's evil assistant Jack Hardemeyer into it. Most of this material was included in the comic book adaption.
-
...in a tight jumpsuit, Ramis as well. Those boys are defining and underlining the meaning of middle aged spread.
-
murray didn't let them make a figure with his likeness, maybe its water under the bridge.
-
we wanna see the characters!
-
At least we get the big three - but I also think Ernie and Rick Moranis should be involved... He IS the Keymaster, after all...
-
for background music!
-
see the message boards there at braxtanfilm.com
-
they should create a Ghostbusters movie in such a fashion as Beowulf.
-
seriously? what a stupid ass idea
-
I don't own a video game system, plus I suck horribly at video games. Thus, give me a movie.
-
Actually, I just made that up, but the "yo" made me sound like I'm down with current trends, didn't it?
-
I've had dreams of this day.
-
and the gameplay delivers, it may be a nice idea.
-
yes video games are great but movie games suck and its a completely diffrent experience from movies. adapting a game to the big screen is a great idea (sadly nobody seems to know that because game movies are terrible except for mortal kombat 13 YEARS AGO) but movie games uhh ill pass
-
...although that could be very bad, whereas video games have lower standards in terms of storytelling (even though some may surpass filmmaking standards) and thus is less likely to deface canon...
-
Anyway, I hope they borrow from the cartoon series like the comic books did. have the ecto containment unit be friggin huge. Have the ghostbusters go inside the thing to get info from old busts. And make Slimer their little buddy!
-
would be cool but to continue the movie series as a game? FUCKING STUPID.
-
Sorry but I'm going to have to fall on the Ghostbusters 2 was bad side of the argument. In fact, it's the tried and true measure of a bad film. Which would you rather watch: a movie you just declared as lousy, or Ghostbusters 2 ten times in a row? If you pick the 10-times GB2 viewing, you know you've got a bad film. Honestly, though, GB2 had a horrible villain who never seemed to be of any threat. He was a painting for crying out loud. The Statue of Liberty walking was horrible. I hated McNichol, even my soft spot for all things "Dragonslayer" coudn't make me like him in that role. He spent the whole movie saying "Viggo? Vi-go?" Gah!
-
This'll rock.

Ernie Hudson rules! Always remember that he's seen shit that'll turn you white.
-
...which it likely will be, you never know. They may follow through and make a film version, or a mo-cap version.
-
Am I the only one noticing the incongruity between the writers threatening the halt of production of writing, and the utter remake-laden shit that's been dumped out continually for years now? Shouldn't writers wait until they produce a lot of creative, fresh material before striking? (Oh, and yeah, I appreciate the irony that my talkback name is lifted from a remake.)
-
...really sucked. There was so much potential to do something great, but they tried too hard to rehash what was already done. They shouldn't have brought back Sigourney Weaver, and a baby? Babies and ghosts don't mix...we don't want babies in our ghost movies. It was the second instalment, and they should have created something much darker and riskier.
-
shit...i'll be crying myself to sleep this evening
-
Shaky cam ghostbusting, ohhhh yeahhhh...SO BE GOOD FOR GOODNESS SAKES... WOOOAAAHHOO, SOMEBODY'S COMIN!!!
-
It just wasn't as good as 1 and was in effect a sort of rehash of the first movie. And they didn't do enough bustin...
If it's up to us we've got to take control... ooohhh ohhhh oooohoooooohoooo -
Dan Akroyd needs to do something funny. The last funny thing I've seen him do was the SNL skit with him and Will Farrell as Mormens during the Olympics.
-
Those were actually pretty awesome. There wasn't too much too them, but they showed so much promise. I hope they're using that engine, because that looked nasty.
-
Seriously, I really get irked when people try to take Ghostbuster seriously and say that it has a mythology to uphold or that they want to see a "kick-ass" Ghostbusters. The films were comedies! That's why I don't see a video game working...yeah, it's a fun idea...but the GB films (the first especially) was not about action and adventure, but about dry wit in absurd circumstances. Can that translate to a game?
-
There was a really good Ghostbusters game for the C64 back in the day. If this new one is anything at all like the mystery footage that popped online, which I for one think it SHOULD be even though this project seems unconnected to that, I think a game could be cool.
Damn, that new logo just seemed so right. -
Didn't aicn have pics of a possible ghostbusters game awhile ago?
-
That could be great.
-
But the first is a classic.
-
"I've seen shit that'd turn you WHITE!"

ariety has more details on the recently confirmed undead Ghostbusters video game sequel, including even better news about the game's voice cast. In addition to the three original Ghostbusters—Ramis, Aykroyd and Murray—Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddmore in both films, and William Atherton, famous for his role as Water Peck.
-
Sadly::: According to Variety, the Ghostbusters game is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, courtesy of developer Terminal Reality, with more casual-aimed versions from Red Fly Studios coming to PlayStation 2, Wii and DS. -
I have heard a lot of urban legends about Murray having some sort of control over the property and he has shot down doing another film for years, even without his involvement in the film. Is that true? Does anybody know?
-
MASS HYSTERIA!!!!!
-
Let Bill Hader play Ray Jr.
Get Jason Reitman to take over the family franchise and direct. Get the Awesome Town guys to write in collaboration with Raimis and Ackroyd.

1. Ghostbusters 2 was a very good movie (as far as sequels go).
2. I like this more than the idea of a new movie, which could just poison the whole franchise for a while. -
Maybe a new movie could finally happen. Wasn't it Murray alone who prevented a third one from happening in the past due to not wanting to do it?
-
I doubt he would even do a live action film, to be honest. The guy is about as close to retiring as an actor can get, content with phoning in the occasional voice-over. How else can you explain Garfield 2?
-
It's not that hard. There's a fan base that's been waiting decades for a third installment. Just make the movie already! Geez!
-
No Ghostbuster anything is legit without Warden Leo Glenn. Come on!
-
I like Bill Murray, but it always ticked me off that he didn't want to do GB3 as though it was something beneath him at this point in his career, but he'd voice Garfield.
-
you say, YES!
-
Yes there will be a 360 version, but the Wii version will be superior.

-
For doing Garfield instead of Ghostbuster? He probably only worked 2 or 3 days on Garfield recording the voice work. Murray has had a pretty impressive run of work in the last 10 years or so. Rushmore, Royal Tennenbaums, Broken Flowers, Coffee and Cigarettes, Lost in Translation, The Life Aquatic......That's a pretty decent resume.
-
I think the fan film that Braxtanfilm released on Halloween is much more newsworthy right now. They worked three years on it and the special effects are fantastic for a fan film. Check it out at www.returnoftheghostbusters.com
-
in Ghostbusters 2 was CLASSIC.
-
I think Ghostbusters 2 is a pretty bad movie (it's essentially a remake of the first one subbing the Statue of Liberty for Mr Stay Puft) but I agree. When Murray calls the DA "kitten," that's pretty funny.

Murray, you sour faced bastard, either get Vince Vaughan in to play Venkman or fucking relinquish your rights so they can write Venkman out and do a GHOSTBUSTERS 3. All these fucking fans clamouring for a GREAT threequel and you're holding it up - just, 'cos, y'know, you can. You miserable bastard. You got to practically fuck Scarlett Johansson in LOST IN TRANSLATION (trust me, she'd have gone for it if you got that turtle pecker out of its ancient fucking shell and slipped her a length) and you're still miserable. You're an 80s comedy legend and yet still you're miserable.
Bottom line: Murray's just fucking UNGRATEFUL. Dumbass. -
You know, with young 'hip' actors, a terrible script, bad cinematography, a complete lack of spacial screen sense and lots and lots of cartoony CG FX?
-
That's fucking genius! Write out the whle second movie as if it WAS a movie being shot to make them money. That's a fucking cool concept and it fits the dry, absurdist tone of these movies. I don't know any other franchise that could pull that off and do it well... But Aykroyd and Ramis could.
Lobsterone... Get your ass back on that picket line, bitch! -
I know you're being rhetorical and already know this, but I'm pointing it out anyway: You just answered your own question. I had a vision of a Rupert Wainwright version with Maggie Grace as Dana Barrett, and then I thought of The Fog remake, and then I threw up in my mouth a little bit.
Thanks for that. It's entirely YOUR fault. -

the Animated series rocked, but FILMATION's GhostBusters series only added to the confusion.

If you look back and see how elaborate and layered the Cartoon series was initially, it's just fucking amazing. Head written by J Michael Straczynski.

I struggle to summon up the words to express how indifferent I am to this. Oh, I know: "meh"Kwisatz- you know that will happen, and it will be platinum dunes directed by a member of the Hack Pack, possibly Ratner.
-
...you can put money on that, Jack. I'm not saying it should be remade, mind you, just that I'm sure that it will be.
-
I loved the first Ghostbusters movie and remember playing that first Ghostbusters game on the Commodore 64 in the 1980's and thinking it was the best thing since sliced bread. Obviously times have moved on and so have games, but I still have fond memories of those halcyon days.
-
Was it soooo bad I erased it from my mind!? absolutely not one scene is in my noggin! perhaps I simply never saw it? but I was a huge Ghostbusters fan so a sequel would surely have been exciting to see!? I think i just had a breakdown!!!Damn
-
Good news, as long as it has a few cinamatics that are real world footage of the guys goofing around and not shitty "life like anamatics" of the GBs. To see them all joking around and giving the narratives to move the game along, like the jail scene in the orginal. I am down.
-
...than so be it. I just hope the game is nothing like its NES predecessor. *Shiver*

"...Cats and dogs living together." Yeah, this game idea sounds great. But is there ANY way that the game could LOOK much like the bogus footage that hit the net??? Reitman gave us the comedy gold that was Kindergarten Cop. So, do like Arnold says in the film and "SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!"
-
But replace the cast with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell and Chris Rock! That would be awesome!!! Oh, wait...no. Look, if they could get Murray to do a 3rd movie, it would aready be done. They can't, so a video game that Murray is in is a pretty good alternative to a movie he isn't in.

Fuck it! Do GB3 with all the original cast. It could work, Sigourney is still semi hottish i think?, Bill Murray aint too fat and the other fat ones can be fat coz People tend to get a bit fat in real life! or CG some weight off! it would be really funny! They could play on gags about their age and weight! have the old fuckers still trying to get into Ripleys pants! Ghostbusters was never about DieHard style action scenes just great story, characters, dialogue and the odd well done spook FX. Come on one last time for a giggle! Get em all out of retirement, if Indy can do it so should the Ghostbusters. It would be a massive event!
-
In addition to the game - maybe after it comes out - they should sell a DVD of the "completed" game as if someone had played it perfectly from start to finish. That way it would be turning the game into a movie. They should also do this for the other movie games like 'Scarface' and 'The Godfather.'
-
Bill Murray. He is a very difficult customer and basically told hollywood to go fuck themselves and then said he was retired. that was when he lost the actor oscar and got really pissed off about that. He is Bi-polar. So when he is in good form he gets on with everyone but when he down he gets angry and pissed. Wes anderson found this out. Anderson has said that he will never work with Murray again as has Soifa Coppolla.
-
I'm surprised to hear that, especially given Murray's nice cameo at the beginning of Anderson's latest. Where did you read this?

The video game market is much bigger than the movie market in terms of money.
-
which means I'll be able to enjoy it. I bet I end up buying it unless it really sucks hard.
-
It's not that I don't want to see another GB movie, it's that I don't think the actors want to make one.
It's better we get a videogame they can imagine themselves be in on than force them to make a movie none of them want. -
I'm picturing like Gears of War but funny and with ghosts instead of mutant insect things. And to whomever said the game won't work because the movies are comedies, the game will still be funny, it is possible to have humor in action games. Just look at the trailers for the Army of Two game. -
...for the BRAND NEW Ghostbusters flick!
-
He hasn't made a good flick since...oh, Groundhog Day maybe? Damn. 12 years and counting. Since then it's been Larger Than Life, Space Jam, the HIGHLY overrated Lost in Translation, and boring-assWes Anderson shit.
-
. . . where the hell are you from, anyway?" "Ze upper vest side" . . . LOVED the sequel, and the cartoon was always fantastic . . . anyone remember the one where Vampires and Werewolves were fighting, and they kept biting each other and changing back and forth? Thought of that immediately during Underworld 2. There's no way Ramis will do a movie, though . . . he can't PHSYICALLY do it!! If this is all we get, I'll take it.

Ramis and Aclroyd found murray to be a right royal pain in the ass. Seemingly the only obstacle to doing GB 2 was murray himself. Sofia Coppolla signed up Murray to do LOst in translation but she warned by several people about murrays difficult nature. When Murray is in great form he can very funny and the set apprantly was buzzing when this happened. However when murray was not the set was thunderous. Another group who found this out were the cast Charlie angels. Murray's volatility on set made sure that he didnt come for the awful sequel. People in hollywood are wary about casting him in anything. Sofia Coppolla summed it up best. when she said when bill is in great form he was a real live wire but when hes not it is best to just leave him alone.

Are you all retarded? It says at the very top that all four members are reprising their roles.
Ernie Hudson played Winston. -
And yes I am retarded as well.

I don't care what its about, like The Ghostbusters being hired by a hollywood studio to help rid hollywood of its 'ghosts' like Marilyn munroe and Montgomery Clift at the Roosevelt hotel, George Reeve's house, HOUDINI! now that would present some challenges for the team... the obvious "twist" would be the studios would be the evil doers in this scenario... so you know.. in keepin' with reality haha or perhaps In a cheesy way, with all the Vs. Movies out there, they could take on some of movies greatest supernatural villains. can you imagine a Ghostbusters Vs Amityville movie? or Poltergeist, or FREDDY?!?..
-
what kind of name is that, anyway? Austrailian? Hell, as long as she's wearing that red-shear nighty thing and calls herself "the gatekepper", I'll watch.

i'm dumb and illiterate

but it was done prior to Akroyd and Ramis' involvement. It was essentially a pitch by the developer, to show Akroyd what the medium is capable of now.Personally, I think the game is a better idea than the movie. Akroyd's writing has hit the shitter as of late, and to be honest, the Ghostbusters in "Man-hell-ton" (that's the story Akroyd is pushing - a Hell universe set in New York) in a video game sounds much more fun and plausible than it would on screen.Let's not forget, Akroyd originally wanted to set Ghostbusters hundreds of years in the future on the planet Mars. Let that sink in for a second. Now think of how much better the movie was once the reigns were pulled in a little bit. Well with technology the way it is nowadays, Akroyd thinks that he can tell that kind of story...the kind that involves our heroes in alternate dimensions and fighting monsters and is devoid of the entrepreneurial spirit that fueled the first movie. What a horrible movie that could make. But video games don't make the same demands of storyline and premise that movies do since the main focus is on gameplay.Basically, it sounds like it's the perfect fit for Ghostbusters III in my book. Akroyd gets to tell whatever crazy story he wants without having to worry about how accessible it is to the general public (since the game's target audience is those that love Ghostbusters and those that love video games) and fans who would have otherwise had nothing now get to have another story with some fun characters, and hopefully a really fun video game too.
-
Is that the one where they faceoff against Freddy? My friends and I enjoyed watching it just for the novelty alone (and not much else)
-
I had it back in the day (the day of the Genesis) and it was pretty wack. Just another uninspired platformer (like many games of that era) with a Ghostbusters theme. The c64 version on the other hand, I thought was pretty fun and interesting as you actually had to run your Ghostbusting business and turn a profit.
-
No... Return of the Ghostbusters is a completly new film.. with higher production values etc. Its taken them 3 years to bring this out... and remember, it was made by the fans, for the fans....
-
is referencing an article from British tabloid The Sun from 2004. The Sun is to be commended for putting young topless females on page 3, but is at the National Enquirer level in terms of credibility.
Murray is a lot like his old pal, David Letterman, in that he is cranky and crotchety and doesn't abide fools. However, he is not blacklisted in Hollywood or hated by Sofia Coppola, or any of the other erroneous things EmeraldBoy has deemed worthy of dragging out of his memory... I suppose we should be grateful that old EB has at least managed a post somewhat on topic, incorrect though it is, normally his posts would ramble on insanely about some clown who performed on Irish TV in the 1950s and expect us to have any clue either what he was talking about or more importantly, what that had to do with anything anyone else was talking about... -
You can't have a Ghostbusters 3 without there being a, well, Ghostbusters 3. A game does not a movie make. Argh.
-
Cool, I just checked it out. I'm clicking through their comic right now that bridges the gap. I like that he references Extreme Ghostbusters off-handedly around page 11. There's a charm to the amateurish quality Braxton produces, and I'd be lying if I said I'm not excited to see what fans are able to do when they love a universe enough to do something like this. Gotta say though, Eugene was my favorite character in Freddy vs. Ghostbusters film; don't know why he they had him killed off.
-
Adding onto previous posts is as good as an edit button I guess
-
Cool... Once you have watched the film, post back and let me know what you think..
-
Will do once I get off work; leave it to my job's servers to block the stream...
-
Did I miss something?
-
Failing that, give us Mummybusters: Yanosh vs. Beni.
On second thought, give us THAT first, and then Ghostbusters 3. -
What's 'Ghostbusters?'
-
Harry Knowles!Bang his wife in front of him, he'll turn green with envy and then start shooting!

All you idiots denouncing the "video game as sequel" idea should get a clue. It's clearly the best course of action at this point. I'm a huge fan of Ghostbusters, but GB2 is not good, and Aykroyd's "ManHellton" (and a Donald Trump-like villain called "Louis Siphler") script idea for GB3 sounded pretty bad. As TruPhan explained, even if we're still getting a version of that script, it will be much more palatable in video game form.
The fact that you have all 4 guys plus Potts and Atherton coming back is just huge, and could not happen in a movie. Some of you apparently hate video games for some reason, but you'd better start getting used to them if you want to experience more Ghostbusters.
A GB3 movie would NOT be "printing money" in any way. Since Murray won't do live action your only option is full CGI, and that's going to be tremendously expensive. If the movie itself does not get REALLY solid reviews you're in big trouble. A "decent" video game will be printing money in this case - a "decent" movie will not.
To address another question - there will apparently be some sort of flashbacks to part 1. There are also screenshots of Slimer at the Sedgewick Hotel plus the New York Public Library. Check the forums at Ghostbusters.net for more info. -
Back off. I'm not an idiot because I don't like the video game = 3rd Ghostbusters movie idea. And you're not an idiot for liking the idea. It's just not my cup of tea. If they don't have the means (or maybe the courage) to make the 3rd flick, then that's fine.
-
but he'll hold up Ghostbusters 3 until he gets the sweet offer of doing a video game? Might work; might not.
-
I really loved Ghostbusters 2 too. Anyway, I wish they would do a third instead of a game, i also wish that Ms. Weaver would drop a line or two in the game for old time sake.
-
... any interest i had just flew out the window. Isn't Scarface supposed to be terrible?
-
It just reforms itself later i bet just like in the cartoon.
-
Very fun movie, but so weak compared to the first one. I'm ashamed that my wife likes it more than the first. I can't wait for the superior Wii version :)
-
you guys have no idea how good or bad this will turn out. However, one thing this has going for it is a couple of guys who know how to write funny shit... and that is one area where videogames need to improve. The writing. There are some good games out there, to be sure, but the one area where film and games can come together is in the writing. I look foward to see how this turns out. The graphics look sweet... now let's hope Vivendi puts in some good animation to go with the story.
-
In a way, voice acting is a great venu for older actors, who don't feel they 'look' the part anymore... to create stories that don't depend on one's age. Hell, Sean Connery recently did voicework for the "007 From Russia With Love" videogame. He did sound older, but he somehow pulled it off! This could never happen with standard film. So to have Ghostbusters take place in the 90's is in a way, when GHOSTBUSTERS 3 should of been made. But it wasn't. Now they are older and have a chance to make that film! And who knows... if the game takes off and sells like hotcakes BAM! You have the next Ghostbusters film greenlighted. A "Grumpy-old-men" meets "Ghostbusters" comedy that most probably have lines like:
Ray: *wheeze* "I'm getting too old for this."
Egon:"I'm getting too tired for this."
Peter: "I'm getting too... WOW, would you look at the size of those knockers?!?"
Winston: "Yah, now that's what I call a large door."
etc... -
Just sad AICN, sad this is.
-
1) The look on his face after the hideous "handshake" with Yanosh.
2) The delivery of the line "Hello, Dana" when he enters her apartment. -
I was curious, checked it out. Nice FX for a fan film, but holy shit was that the worst acting I have ever seen, not to mention direction and writing.
-
They go up.
-
Yes but that's balanced by the nauseating talking to Dana's baby scene that makes me want to barf. I do like the bit where he holds up a cat with no hair on it's tail. That shit makes me laugh.
-
Cryptofascist AnimalStructure, or raging bell-end M-O-M. It's tough.
-
who am I going to call?
-
It's worse than anything the Ghostbusters have ever faced. If anyone out there can read this message (because I sure as hell can't thanks to THE WHITE SCREEN OF DOOOOOOM) then please send help.
-
Has there ever been a more humorless, obnoxious, condescending and downright punchable cretin than MOM/BRU?
Every time he figuratively opens that diseased, malodorous vulva he calls a mouth he spews forth incendiary, violence-inducing shit on a gargantuan scale.
Then again, so does AnimalCracker, but he's simply evil. -
The sun is a xenophobic piece of gutter trash. I did not read the article in the sun. I dont buy the sun. I read it in a movie magazine. in a profile piece about about bill murray,it was very lengthy piece. I am not going to mention the the name of the Publication but it was a very good film magazine untill very recently when they went to town on certain animated film about a family. the publication in question employed very good writers in the past, including Rod lurie and thier peak came when they did specials on the Lord of the Rings and published a booklet. Those were the haclyon does of that publication. They even launched thier own awards ceremony. It was great in the early days but this publication has really gone downhill. This publication gave a 5 star rating to a certain superhero movie about a superhero who goes under the moniker of the man of steel. Even though some of you hated that film. anyway I have wondered why talkbackers hate the established press so much, maybe its to do with the shortness of attention span.
-
Hey, it worked in the cartoon. Except I don't think Venkman hitting Cthulhu full in the face with only one proton stream from a moving rollercoaster would do it. Yeah, I know they electrified him too, but fuck! It's CTHULHU!!
Ithaqua cthulha nodens! Ithaqua cthulha nodens!
The stars are right for a new, scarier, darker, but no less sardonic threequel. And M-O-M, you are SO fucking outnumbered on here for love of Reitman's work on the first movie! You CANNOT hate Ghostbusters! Just... CAN'T! -
I thought I'd told you about this before. It's been crap for Years. repeat after me: EMPIRE IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
-
is alright- not great but OK. If you can get over the fact that it is a flagrant GTA rip-off, you can have some fun with it.
-
"Don't come whining on me" Memories of Murder enjoying friday night in the brothel- lying back and being spattered with come from a pustulant rent boy moaning about his lot.

with the white Screen.
-
which I loved and the 2nd which, I saw in the US with my Mother and brother. And having seen the original toon and its spin off, extreme ghost busters. There was talk about doing a third film which never materialised. So now they are making a computer game instead. which will possibly be the third movie in all but name. Some talkbackers want a new movie. but other talkbackers will start to complain if they dont like who is in the directors chair, who is going to star in it. there will be uproar if a new team of writers is assembled. Murray will likely go to court over that and he will joined by Ackroyd and Ramis. and that is how it should be.
-
I loved Ghostbusters very much. It was the first blockbuster movie that I saw. I dont doubt that hollywood will attempt to hire new writers and get a younger cast. Imagine some talkbackers will be pissed off.
-
Can't read comments right now (white screen of death) but the Ghostbusters actually fought Cthulu in the animated series (season 2 I think). I remember thinking that episode would make a great movie
-
Now that game took the existing story and expanded on the world of the movie, not to mention the opening sequence was basically the opening credits of the film done in game form. I thought that was pretty sweet. -
warriors.
-
on the one hand, i like that it wont have a sucky new story. on the other, what if it would have had a cool, fun new story? and like i said, having it only be the first film will make for a way too short, too linear game. i hope i am wrong. i want to love this.
