Yet Another Dishy Female STAR TREK Cast Member Is In The House!!

I am – Hercules!! J.J. Abrams has confirmed that Jennifer Morrison, who plays the title character’s medical protégé on “House,” is in Abrams’ new “Star Trek” movie. "She is indeed in the movie," Abrams tells TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello, "and she is most excellent!" Abrams denies Morrison is playing Janice Rand in the feature. So who then? Perhaps Carol Marcus, who would bear Kirk a son and a shiny Spock-resurrecting terraforming machine? Perhaps Janice Lester, who had a Starfleet Academy romance with Kirk long before she took over his body? Speaking of “Trek” casting news (and resurrections), William Shatner continues to deny that he has been offered any role in the Abrams “Trek” film, but Shatner did confirm to Howard Stern late last week that Abrams came to the “Boston Legal” set twice to talk about Abrams’ “Trek” movie -- long before Paramount announced Abrams as the project’s director. Read all of Ausiello's story on Morrison's "Trek" casting here.

Shatner has to be in it.

    by GuyGardner

I just don't get the idea of not having the Shat in it. He is so much more Star Trek than Nimoy is, and, while I love them both, you should have them both.

    Harlan Ellison's response...

    by idahomer

"Would someone go to that site, and suggest to those people there, that "City" and all its elements EXCEPT specific Star Trek characters, belong to Harlan Ellison-author of that much-lauded episode-by terms of the Separation of Rights clause of the Writers Guild's Minimum Basic Agreement (MBA), and if Mr. Abrams-with whom I'm currently on strike-or anyone else, at Paramount or elsewhere, thinks they're going to use MY creations-whether the City, the Guardians, Sister Edith Keeler, or any other elements CREATED BY HARLAN ELLISON...they had damned well better lose the unilateral arrogance, get in touch with me, or my agent, Marty Shapiro, and be prepared to pay for the privilege of mining the lode I own."

Maybe like Star Wars Prequel casting

    by Anakin Whoopass

Dozens of actors/characters pre-announced, most of whom got no lines and next-to-nothing screen time. If this is really classic Star Trek it'll be about the Kirk and Spock and McCoy and everybody else is there to support their story.

You hinted a couple of weeks back that you had some information that Shatner was in the movie. He keeps saying that he is not in the film, but your story indicated that he was in the film "Don't believe the hype about Shatner no being in the film" whats the story? I promise I won't tell anyone.

    SHATNER'S IN IT - It's all misdirection

    by ShiftyEyedDog2

He's just protesting and denying too much. I'm fairly certain it'll turn out he is in it, and they're denying it to try to make surprise people, in this age when the internet spoils any and all surprises a film might offer.

I've seen a few pix of the Star Trek movie set on a few sites. One particular one has alot of pix to look at. Theres a photo of Morrison of "House" and Quinto as young Spock from Heroes. has a lot of pix.

    Wth does dishy mean anyway?

    by theonecalledshoe

Is it something along the lines of 'you can have your cake and eat it too'? Miniskirts and star trek? This remake is on my radar now.

  • Nov. 13, 2007, 2:39 a.m. CST

I stopped watching House because of this woman.

    by AnnoyYou

She is absolutely the worst sort of TV actress: colorless, no personality, annoying and whiny. I dub them "Waitresses," because they're like all the stupid women I worked with when I was a chef. This ST is sounding worse and worse; I hope this broad's role ends up on the cutting room floor.

ive never watched house, but every time i see her elsewhere she looks rather like my cup of tea, plus, she seems to be building a bit of a geek-catering portfolio. on the other hand, her tits are fairly small -

Shifty's right: Shat the Fat will be in it.

    by kabong

The marketing "masterminds" are trying to build buzz. <p> Couldn't James Tubbyrius Kirk have an earlier--thinner--version of himself taken from the transporter pattern buffer?

  • Nov. 13, 2007, 5:15 p.m. CST

I keep forgetting Kirk is dead. Is that still in continuity?

    by Uncle Stan

I mean...he just fell off a rock. Lame. It doesn't jive with Scotty's comments in Next Generation.

  • Nov. 13, 2007, 7:02 p.m. CST

    Kirk is kinda of dead

    by Orionsangels

Since time doesn't exist in the Nexus. Meaning you can go to anytime inside the Nexus. Technically entering the Nexus. You could go to the time before Kirk and Picard fight malcolm mcdowell on that bridge and change history by saving Kirk. Then you and Kirk somehow leave the Nexus.

The Fishing Episode on Boston Legal

    by estacado1

Some part of the dialogue went like this: Alan Shore: Those little parasites that stick on to the salmon. The are so vicious, people call them "cling-on"s. Denny Crane: Did you just say Klingons?

    Morrison Playing Nurse Chapel Maybe?

    by jorson28

I don't know if someone else on this board has suggested this already, but Morrison could be playing Nurse Chapel. Chapel was a recurring character in the original series and was in the 1979 movie, though she's the only one that I haven't seen or heard mentioned in news reports, strange considering that the role was played by Gene Roddenberry's wife Majel Barrett. Maybe I just overlooked it, but if the character has been mentioned as being included, I can't find reference. In any case, I'd be surprised if the character is NOT in the new movie considering the number of other more obscure TOS characters which are included (Spock's mother, Capt. Pike) and if she is a character in the new movie, it seems that her casting would be news.
