AICN Books: Attention Stephen King fans! There's a cool contest going on for his next book, DUMA KEY!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It's no secret I'm a huge King nerd... and now I wish I had any sort of artistic ability whatsoever... Hodder & Stoughton, the UK publishers of Stephen King's next book DUMA KEY, have just announced a contest where you can design their main advertising images and get a limited printed proof of your piece as well as an advance copy of the book with your name printed on the front cover. I remember there being something similar with SILENT HILL and one of the RESIDENT EVILs where fans designed a special poster, but the cool thing about this contest is that Stephen King will handpick the winner. How sweet is that? Like I said, I wish I had any artistic talent or was a photoshop wizard, but I will have to sit back and let all you talented fools take a stab at it. CLICK IT HERE TO FIND OUT MORE AND TO GET YOUR DESIGN MATERIALS!!!

Cheapskate publishers. I'd rather have a cut of the book's profits ;-)

    This was in Blaze

    by Norseman1111

As a short story called Memory that was pretty good.

Are they going to provide the manuscript?

    by Internet Thug

A little difficult to create relevant artwork when you haven't seen the source material don't ya think?

    Leopard Key?

    by Monkey_King

Thought DUMA was a cool movie, but a film based on King's forthcoming book DUMA KEY might be interesting, being that it's an African name and all. I'll get crackin' on a poster design.

Sheesh, that was low of me. I didn't really run him over the first time. It was someone else.<p>The Crimson King?

    Homage cover

    by Fourthwall

Designed this last year for Novella homage to King - ironically, he did his London talk last year next to Battersea Powerstation (in the book). Wish they had a video trailer contest

    Moondoggy, re: Lisey's Story

    by Ray Garraty #47

May I ask why you liked it? I strongly disliked it. I found "bools, blood bools", and all of that other Kingspeak really repetitive and distracting, and I found it hard to sympathise with Lisey, who struck me as a bleating, passive cow. The second half of the novel was much better but it could not salvage it for me. I much preferred "Cell," which, let's face it, was not that good either. The almost redemptive quality for Lisey's Story, for me, was that it showed me how King feels about his own wife, after all that he's been through with addiction and the van accident.

Hearts in Atlantis was the last new King book

    by Samuel Fulmer

I could make it through. It was excellent. Too bad the movie was awful. Actually now that I think of it, I did read the Colorado Kid, which wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. I would like to see him tackle more crime related stories.

    Lisey's story

    by ozliiifter

I don't even think I made it 100 pages into Lisey's Story. It was so boring and tedious. Before that the last King book I tried to read was Wolves of the Calla. I couldn't make it all the way through that one either. That's a shame, because the first 4 Dark Tower books were so good.

    Just finished "Lisey's Story"

    by Mister Man

Worth wading past the first 100 pages...I really enjoyed it. Hate the US cover for "Duma Key". And WHAT was with that BS of having Drayton's character in "The Mist" (film) be a graphic designer for "Dark Tower" covers - ugh.

Are you just a little bitch or did you not realize everyone else who's seen the film has been keeping that a secret for those of us who haven't? Thanks for the spoiler warning, you cunt.
