Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp's DISTRICT 9 has a distributor!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We ran a story a couple days ago announcing a film called DISTRICT 9, being produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp. The two worked closedly on HALO for a while and the only thing we might ever see out of that collaboration were the series of pretty sweet-ass HALO 3 commercials.
Anyway, this sci-fi flick has now been picked up by a studio for distribution. And that studio is Sony, the flick likely to be released under the Screengems or Columbia banner. Distribution covers all English-language territories.
Very curious about this one! Will we see it and breathe a sigh of relief that HALO never happened? I doubt it... it'll more likely be frustrated grumblings from the fan community. Thoughts?
