    by tallboy66

Isn't there going to be a writers strike (not the actors strike, this one snuck up on us) in, like, 2 weeks? Surely all 24 episodes can't be written by then. Oh, and the Sarah Connor show is alright, but they're going to reshoot scenes from the pilot episode (where shit happens at a school) which is kinda weak - best part of the whole episode. Anyway, yeah, that point is kinda moot - writers strikes! Its all going to hell, man, American Idol 5 nights a week instead! Game over, man! Game over!!

reason for no double 2 hour premiere

likely is that kiefer is in jail and they are worried about being behind on delivering a nonstop season...so this saves them 3 weeks instead of having the first 4 episodes all in 2 days

As much as I love 24, if the new season is anything like the last then they'll be introducing the Terminator show as the realistic one and 24 as the sci-fi one...

We were in Orlando last week, and made a stop at Universal Studios, and saw the T-2:3-D show for the first time. Edward Furlong is the whiniest little kid I've ever seen. I know he's like 30 now, but damn he was annoying in that show.

    by big jim

I was just thinking this morning that we are about a month into the Fall schedule and as far as I know nothing has been cancelled yet. Then again, 4 episodes is about what the networks usually use to determine if a new show stays or goes. I expect we will shortly be hearing about a few shows going on "hiatus", never to be heard from again.

Lack of Talkback hating bodes well for this series, methinks

    by zax2000

I've gotta say, this is the strangest run-up to a genre show that I can remember. Save for occassional, half-interested updates from Herc, there is a general sense of ambivilence towards the show from the denziens of AICN and other places online. Is it becuase T3 sucked so much ass that people are scorned and just refusing to notice it? Maybe the pilot that was leaked to us geeks over the summer was *just* good enough to keep the haters at bay, yet gave us too much continuity-alteration for geeks to be able to get really pumped for it... For what its worth, I am pretty excited for this show. By the end of the pilot I was kinda scratching my head a bit, but found myself thiking that this show is what T3 probably should have been. Though how the writers will stay away from the idea that Skynet & the humans seem to be waging a ful-scale "Time War" at this point is a curiosity of mine. (Come on, humans going back to the 1950s to plant future tech-ready parts in a bank just in case? Why not send Termintaors back to hijack all early technology and jump-start Skynet's creation?) Then again, maybe they will embrace it... I'd be really interested in a show that used each season to examine a different timeline... As for what we've seen so far, Summer didn't seem to fit the "typical" Terminator mold, but the idea that terminators can "learn" to be more human-like was a common thread through T2 & T3, so I can go with it. Obviousily she's gonna be our post-modern Data... Sarah & John both seemed fine, but Sarah better get to pumping iron. Dirty clothes, dusty-looking hair and mood lighting can only take you so far: If your arms don't look big enough to be able to arm-wrestle my 9 year-old brother, I ain't gonna buy that you can handle a shotgun... Come on, Fox, let's give this one a chance! Just don't bring in Arnold.

The problem with this is..... ...

    by greatczarsghost

After the first show the Sara Connor Cronicals will drop production values down to Sci Fi Channel levels and we'll wind up with Flash Gorden all over again. And as for 24 I think we learned with the last season there are no new ideas for a show. Evil president, good president, couple atomic bombs have gone off, Evil Corporations, Jack has to shoot/kill friends, Jack finds love then loses love, deadly chemical/bio attack kills a lot of people, ect., ect, ect. Short of alians landing and trying to take over the US there's nothing else to do. That's why last season was so boreing.Give it up Fox, it's time to go with your ace in the hole, Dancing With The Stars Dogs with hose Shepard Smith. ARROOOOOW

Bad Eastern European accent like Arnold - Check

Poor acting like Arnold - Check

The only thing missing was the humor of Arnold.

Actually, I don't think Summer is that bad of an actress. She isn't going to win any Oscars in her lifetime, but there are a lot worse actors out there in successful shows and movies. At least she is hot enough that you don't care at times.

If they wanted a talented actress from the Whedonverse, they should have gone with Amy Ackers. But then again, she might be too old to pull of a teenager. Maybe Michelle Tractenberg, although she played a whiney teenager so well in Buffy that most fans hate her.

Pilot's like some forgotten thing from the '80s. It moves fast, doesn't have that washed-out look, and dispenses with most of the angsty crap from T2 and T3. And Summer Glau is definitely a hotter robot chick than Bionica Lewinsky.

there will actually be something worth watching on Monday nights in 2008? I ask that only half-kiddingly as 24 is looking to rebound after an atrocious season, and Heroes is mired in a sophomore slump. Origins is going to fill in last part of the season anyway, and seeing as how Kring can't even manage to put new characters worthy of interest on the main show, the likelihood of having good ones for the addendum doesn't look promising.

so I have no bias either way, and no basis to say it is good or bad, etc.I was mainly curious about the Huge amount of promotion and hype just evaporating so fast. And, since it is on Fox, well, an early first season cancellation is sort of a badge of honor, since that is what they do to quality shows. If it gets another season, well, it is probably crap. That's just Fox.
