Fisher Stevens
Joins Cast Of LOST!!

I am – Hercules!! Fisher Stevens, perhaps best known as the wacky Indian scientist in the “Short Circuit” robot comedies, has been cast as Minkowski on “Lost.” Minkowski was the fellow who in the third-season finale told Jack (via phone) of his impending rescue. Read all of the Hollywood Reporter’s story on the matter here. The fourth season of "Lost" begins on ABC in February.

Kubrick in HD!! A Clockwork Orange [HD-DVD] A Clockwork Orange [Blu-ray] Eyes Wide Shut [HD-DVD] Eyes Wide Shut [Blu-ray] The Shining [HD-DVD] The Shining [Blu-ray] Spartacus [HD-DVD] 2001: A Space Odyssey [Blu-ray] 2001: A Space Odyssey [HD-DVD]

That works out to $33 Per Season!! The extras-crammed Definitive Editions!! Individual seasons cost $69.99 New; $50 used!! They were going for close to $100/season not too long ago!
(The discount presumably celebrates the release of the “Twilight Zone” movie in HD, so don’t expect it to last ...)

I swear I see him in New York every week. I can't go to any event without seeing him there and no matter who I'm with they always look at him and ask me why he looks familiar. I mention a few of his films, they remember, and then laugh. Oh well. Guess he's going to be big again. Well, as big as a Lost cast member can be.

    The new season isn't forgettable...

by Kid Z's TERRIBLE. Heroes tanked faster than the f***in' Mets... Bionic Bee-otch sucks... Chuck had one good ep, then just got silly... Pushing Daisies is arch just for the sake of being arch, and will suffer the same fate as Twin Peaks did for the same crime... Journeyman: It was called Quantum Leap, been there, done that... That Vampire Detective Show: pfft! Yeah, rright!... Where the f*** is that Immortal Cop Show? That might be okay. Yeah, like that'll happen! On the plus side, Reaper's a lot of fun, but it's really just a snack. Supernatural's still throwin' down with the white trash horror thing it does. But there's just nothing to geek out about. I wish I could freeze myself until February and the season debut of Lost!

  • Oct. 12, 2007, 8:06 a.m. CST

    Odd thing about Reaper

    by Mr. Profit

Is how I didn't even know about the show until the premiere date, and now it's one of the few shows I look forward to. And sadly it's on The CW. And for the love of God can ABC cancel Big Shots? Dirty Sexy Money is a much better show and deserves the post Grey's timeslot.
Anyhow, where the fuck will ABC place Lost in February? Because they need to treat the show with more respect and move it to a timeslot that is not opposite American Idol and not at Wednesday at 10PM where I usually fucking fall asleep and wake up to see Bill Ritter and Liz Cho and get all pissed I fell out during my favorite show.

  • We have Kristen Bell and youse don't. Muahahaha. :D
But she can't show up on Heroes soon enough. Episode 2.2 was 19th and last week's will probably drop out of the top 20 or 25.

    Bionic Woman and Heroes

    by Mr. Profit

Is the worst imitation of Alias I have seen so far. Dead fiance, check. Super secret organization, check. Scenes with her "Normal Life", check. Bootleg version of Anna Espinoza, check (allthough Sackhoff isn't bad). And when she was training last week I swear I heard the "We Need A Montage" song in my head. This show would have been so much better executed by veteran genre writers like David Fury and Manny Cotto. I disliked Roswell so I'm not a huge fan of Jason Katims.
They should consider pulling the show off of the air after 13 episodes and bring it back after 6 weeks completely retooled.

As for Heroes, couldn't the producers of the show be a little less obvious about their corporate sponsorship with Nissan? I mean Nissan makes more cars than the Rogue. Claire being excited and screaming "You got me a Rogue!" like it was the hottest car out right now was annoying. Had you given her an Altima Coupe or an Xterra it would have been more believable. Then the dude in Mexico is driving a Rogue too, and it's the same fucking color. Come on. Oh aside from that, the show is boring after 3 episodes so far. Bring on the Season 2 "Big Bad" already.

Bionic Woman has been retooled already. By the time the sixth episode airs, Bionic Woman will be a very different show then the previous episodes we have watched. Also with Heroes; THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE. I have no idea why people are running away from this show all of a sudden. When we all know that's how they roll on this show. They slowly build to their story to an apex then go into overdrive. This is how they work. If people do not get it by now. Well they will miss the moment when one's hero becomes the BIGGEST of big bads.

How is this NOT geektastic news? Personally, I'd rather have Fischer than Kristen Bell. I am glad she went with Heroes as opposed to LOST. Her acting isn't up to caliber with the others on LOST. She'll fit in better with Heroes. Fisher on the other hand, MINKOWSKI!!!! I have a feeling this dude is going to be even creepier than dear old bug eyed Ben.

  • Oct. 12, 2007, 12:58 p.m. CST

    Kristen Bell's Acting

    by Mr. Profit

I'm sorry, maybe she can't compare with Terry O'Quinn, but when it comes to the other castaways on Lost she does. I like Evangeline Lilly, but put her head to head with KBell and Kristen is the better actor. She should have gotten stranded on Lost island instead of being on Heroes.
But whatever that's only because I love Lost and like Heroes. I never got why people pit the 2 against each other. They are different shows, and you really cant compare them when the production values, writing, acting, and score on Lost is in it's own class.

Hopefully Heroes can finally have more fun with the premise instead of being the equivalent to a cock tease.

And I hope you are right LordEnigma. I will continue to give the Bionic lady a chance, but so far the producers and writers are intent on continuing to dead their potential.

Ultimately, Reaper may turn out to be the best new geektastic se

    by Prof. Pop-Cult

The show is fun, and not pretentious. The fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously helps. It's like Buffy but with guys in the leads, a little bit of Ghostbusters, and Kevin Smith thrown into the mix. Ray Wise is great, and the release of the complete series Twin Peaks DVD box set might help boost this show by re-introducing people to this cool actor. There could be a fanbase growing for this show just as there was for Veronica Mars. I'm surprised this series is not discussed here more, and boring crap like Bionic Woman gets more attention and has more apologists than fans.

    Claire's Car

    by Mr. Profit

I dont remember it having bumper stickers like the ones that were on it when the guys in Mexico drove off. so I didn't think it was the same car. And as far as Reaper is concerned, it seriously is a solid show.
The CW needs to really think about how they promote their shows because their promotion department is a failure. Did all of the WB promotions staff get let go with the merger? Because I remember The WB always had good promotion and UPN was shitty. If they promoted Reaper better, the show would garner more ratings. And yes it does need a talk back.

This is an excellent piece of casting!

Short Circuit is a classic, as is the sequel, and he is a fantastic in them. The funniest thing would be if he did the same voice in Lost!

I am so over this show. I should be excited that it has a definite ending point and won't wander around in circles forever, but the habit of watching is gone and it's hard to get back into the rhythm.
