Wanna See What THE BATMAN’s
Version of Green Arrow
Looks Like In Action??

Published at: Oct. 5, 2007, 11:12 p.m. CST by hercules

I am – Hercules!!
Kids’ WB! outlasted The WB by two years. But starting with the 2008-2009 season The CW replaces Kids WB! with a five-hour Saturday-morning block from 4Kids Entertainment, which I understand has programmed the Saturday-morning block for Fox Network for many a year. The cartoon Batman and Superman and their DC Comics ilk will have to find new homes elsewhere. Maybe the Cartoon Network? I’m hoping for Cinemax. Anyway, “The Batman” continues its new “Brave and the Bold” strategy Saturday morning with the reintroduction of Green Arrow. Warner Bros. sent over piles of pictures and we thought you might want to see a few.

Warner/DC’s “Legion of Super-Heroes” meanwhile continues its second season with the Legion divided. Some Legionnaires – Sun Boy, Cosmic Boy, Colossal Boy and Future Superman Kell-El - are working to recapture a falsely-accused fugitive Timber Wolf while others – Phantom Girl and Chameleon Boy – are harboring him so he can clear his name.

“The Legion of Super-Heroes” 11 a.m. Saturday. The CW. “The Batman” 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The CW.

I might watch this show if the Joker weren't so horrid

    by Toxic Frog

The Joker is the best character in comics. This show's rendition of the Joker is an abomination. I won't watch any Batman cartoon that ruins the best character in its playbook.

  • Oct. 5, 2007, 11:25 p.m. CST

I do because these shows fucking ROCK.

    by LordEnigma

Seriously... they have no right to be this good, but they really are on par with the JLU now. Cartoon Network and the WB would be foolish to let these shows go the way of the dinosaur. Thanks for the shout out Herc.

    RE: Joker

    by Andillformthehead

Hell, look what they did with Clayface and Mr. Freeze. They tried to unabort Clayface by having a proper "villain" but they screwed that up. They made "Freeze" a common criminal. You actually gave a fuck about these characters on BTAS. Now they are redshirts...
Show has gotten better but let's end it after this season.

    Kell-El????

    by 404notfound

...oh the geeks are gonna love that! Its spelt 'Kal-El' Oh, and I really dug the design of Supes/Clark in The Batman. Thought it much better than the craggy faced geriatric we saw in Doomsday!

It sucks when people who can't spell bitch about other people who can't spell. For what it's worth, "spelt" isn't a word.

by Guy Who Got A Headache And Accidentally Saves The World

What happened to all the talkbackers of the olde days. It used to be that at least if a person couldn't spell properly they had something humorous to say. Now it's just dumbasses like CQuest that litter the place

    Re: Defunct Gamer

    by 404notfound

Dictionary - spelt. 1.verb - A past tense and a past participle of spell 1. Don't know where you're from buddy, but in the queens English it is!

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 8:50 a.m. CST

    The "Kell-El" thing is correct.

    by christonomist

Because it's not referring to Superman, it's referring to his future clone that was introduced in the season premiere. The Legion decided to call him that to distinguish him from Kal-El Supes.

    The Batman

    by Philvis

I watched the first two episodes of this season with Superman in it. I didn't think they were all that bad. I still prefer JL and JLU, but what can you do. I have set a recording on my DVR for them each week, so if it is crap, I will fast forward through it or delete.

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 9:23 a.m. CST

Both Suck...but Bruce Timm did say...

    by tme2nsb

That the DCAU is not over yet. Timmverse/Diniverse will still see more storytellings. Fuck "The Batman" and fuck "The Legion of Superheroes" . They BOTH SUCK

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 9:51 a.m. CST

I meant stories, not storytellings. WTF?

    by tme2nsb

    Aoi Shoudou people. Sorry.

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 11:51 a.m. CST

tme2nsb, where and when did Timm say this.

    by rbatty024

I would be interested in knowing. I watch The Batman from time to time and they have one or two good episodes a season but overall it's a pretty bad show. I miss the good old days of the Timm/Diniverse.

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 12:26 p.m. CST

Yeah... and so, this is a story why?

    by 3 Bag Enema

What else will be on television that AICN has been sent pictures of? I have to know, Herc.

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 1:43 p.m. CST

    I like those shows

    by liljuniorbrown

Got stuck with them on slow weekend mornings at work. I hate Anime and anything that looks like it and The Batman has very little Anime influence.Keep it up and get us some better animated DC Universe movies. i am a huge Superman fan and Doomsday was just too weird for my taste.

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 1:53 p.m. CST

    Too Chipper!

    by YakMalla

Why don't they just call this "The Dragon Tales" and be done with it?

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 2:39 p.m. CST

    The new Batman show

    by mayorofsimpleton

has awful, awful music, terrible villians and boring cookie cutter plots. If the Timm Batman shows are Chess, this isn't even checkers.

Gag me. Nowhere near as good as the Timm/Dini version. This American Anime crap is worse than Japanese Anime.

This Show Withers In Bruce Timm's Shadow

    by clever

I like how AICN notices Legion, Avatar and Venture Bros., but how a craptacular show like this caught Herc's attention is beyond me.

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 8:59 p.m. CST

    I'll say it...

    by Saadjijoe

I'll say it since no one else will comment on the Green Arrow. I like how he looks in this cartoon. Especially in that profile shot posted in the article.
I don't care for Manga Robin though.

  • Oct. 6, 2007, 10:35 p.m. CST

    The batman.....

    by knifeandfork

...Is fucking awful. Its trend chasing , product placement pushing shit, written and designed by the marketing department of warner bros. Batman : the animated series is superior to this superficial nonsense on every level. Fuck "the batman".Bring back justice league unlimited.

  • Oct. 10, 2007, 2:08 a.m. CST

    Stop calling it "new" Batman..

    by jfp2007

This show has been on for 5 years.

  • Oct. 10, 2007, 2:09 a.m. CST

BTAS was a product pusher, as well...

    by jfp2007

The Batman is no more of one than the old show. There were thousands of toys and merchandising released for that show and Superman and the rest. 10 times as much than what The Batman has produced.
