IRON MAN Teaser poster pops up online!

Published at:  Oct 04, 2007 7:31:25 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... SuperHeroHype.Com debuted the teaser one-sheet for IRON MAN earlier today - I wanted to offer you guys a higher res version - which you can get by clicking on the poster below. I like the One Sheet - but I kinda wish this was an old fashioned METALLIC MYLAR one sheet so that it'd really catch your eyes - heh. But that's just me. Here ya go:

The evolution of the suit (and the helmet in particular))reached perfection in the 80s with Bob Layton. Since then it just gotten increasingly grotesque and alien looking. What's with the damnGwynplaine mouth? Nice poster though.

    by ribbons

...omg it's teh Venom!!!11one! Anyway, cool teaser poster. I'd have to say that there are already several great superhero movies of the decade, but if you're a big Iron Man geek (a relatively small but vociferous fanboy subculture nonetheless) I guess these are exciting times. I don't necessarily think we've seen anything to prove that this movie is going to be great, but it does look decent so far.

    Agreed Kurzinski

    by ribbons

I think they were trying to play up the glowy-ness (luminescence?) of his eye to get people's attention, but a full body silhouette where just the rough outline of his suit and the bright blue chest plate and eye holes were visible might have worked even better. Then again, maybe not. What am I, a doctor??

    Recognition Factor

What makes anyone at whatever movie studio think that more than 1% of the population will know this is Iron Man? I think we take for granted comic-familiarity here.

    by mikethespike

I've never given a shit about Iron Man, ever, yet I find myself very much looking forward to this film in ways I would never have anticipated (even before that kickass trailer). And I love they're doing the circle on the chest versus the triangle thing.

That said, they should have had Tony's eye peeking out of the slit, not some blue glow. You know, bring out the MAN in Iron Man. But, hey, what do *I* know?

I can't believe it. A comic book movie by geeks, for geeks. I think this is the first comic book movie I have seen where the focus of the advertising seems to be to reveal to us comic nerds just how much like the books it is going to be. That makes my little geek heart tingle. I'll be there, opening night, at midnight if possible.

but then again the FF4 ROSS trailer kinda looked good and wow was that total shit. The Begins trailer was meh but it turned out to be the best comic book movie so far. We'll see, but i'm betting it won't be as good as BB, or TDK which will probably top BB.

not exactly imaginative though....its just like a Batman movie poster where its just the bat symbol....not that its a bad poster, its just a bit "meh". The trailer was okay, except for the cringeworthy use of Black Sabbath and that stoopid "I am Iron man" at the end. The actual footage was ace though.

Ultimate Iron Man is a mutant who's brain cells are distributed throughout his body. As a child, his father sprayed him with an impact resistant chemical coating to protect his fragile form. Orson Scott Card kinda sucks.

    Superhero

    by series7

I love comic books and superheros as a kid, but none of the string of movies have I really cared about/liked. Except for Spwan? I don't know why I just thought it was really cool. Now I never thought Ironman was that cool of a superhero, but man do I want to see this movie. Probably because it will be awesome to see Robert Downy kick some ass, but everything coming out about this movie looks so awesome. None of the other comic book movies had that, there was always too much concern about doing it right. Maybe because Iron man isn't as big as Super, X, or Spidy so it just seems right to me.

Re: Ribbons and "ridiculously false" ULTIMATE post

    by monkey_king

Still hating? You betcha!! Why? Call me a comic purist who would never cast a comic book film because "the NAACP says it's unfair" for not having a "non-white" person in the cast. I'd cast who fit the bill, race or not. Fact: ULTIMATE Universe Nick Fury is African-American and resembles actor Samuel L. Jackson(Sam, who's an awesome actor). Fact: ULTIMATE Universe Spider-Man had organic webshooters before Original comics Spidey did(based on Cameron's scriptment and the Raimi/Koepp script, film Spidey had them) Fact: Original Nick Fury, true version, is a hard-as-nails Caucasian who used to run with some 'Howling commandoes' and was boss to a Dum-Dum. Fact: Favreau's film is based on Original IRON MAN mythos, yet updated to todays political climate and features... Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. How "Original" is that? Racist? Me? Not one iota. Purist and never kow-towing to any establishment? You bet your whiny, suck-assy, ridiculously false derriere.
