Wallace and Gromit Find TROUBLE AT' MILL!!

Published at:  Oct 03, 2007 9:52:47 AM CDT

Merrick here...

This one's oretty short & sweet:

Nick Park/Aardman have anounced a new WALACE AND GROMIT project. It's a half-hour TV project that'll screen on BBC One late in 2008. It's called TROUBLE AT' MILL.

Trouble at' Mill is a murder mystery that sees Wallace and Gromit running a bakery business - with their house converted into a granary with ovens and robotic kneading arms.

...says THIS STORY this article on BBC News' website.

Can't wait. I love Park's work & I love these characters. I'm disappointed that CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT underpreformed at theaters. I don't think it was consistent, but I think the charm was still there.

Some of us Americans aren't actually living in the hills having sex with our kin and making moonshine (those are the ones who voted for Bush and are f*cking idiots to begin with.)

I love Wallace & Gromit but I found sitting through a full length feature to be painful and prefer the shorts which tell a much leaner story more effectively than the non-story that was the movie. Some stories work as shorts and some as movies and I would rather 3 W&G shorts than one long movie.

    by frank black

...for the Bush comment, just stop yourself, read the history of the Bush family and dig deep into what Bush's father did as head of the CIA for 7 years and follow the money trail and the corruption and lies from all involved and just admit that you were duped because most of the world knows now, (even most Republicans and conservatives finally accept it.)

Admit you were wrong to vote for him and that 150 billion dollars for a war that didn't need to happen could have gone towards improving this country instead of funding the deaths of our soldiers and innocent Iraqi's.

There is no need for an apostrophe when using the plural of something, like 'Iraqis'.

    self-hating americans

    by prettynursepoppie

As a Brit living in America, I don't think Americans realize that most British television is utter shite: JUST LIKE MOST AMERICAN TELEVISION!

The only shows you get here are the GOOD ones. If you truly think all British television is The Office and Fawlty Towers, then you need to get across the spond and spend some quality time in front of ITV and Channel 4. Because British TV is 99% shit, just like every where else. We're not all dry-witted, Oxford-educated, Oscar Wilde wannabes. Many of us are Spice Girls and Chavs and we love reality television where D-list celebrities are stranded on islands off the coast of godforsaken Scotland!

I really don't understand Americans who thrive on bad-mouthing America. It's a pretty good country you've got here, with a fairly amazing culture. And, you took the Beckhams off our hands.

    How was Were-Rabbit inconsistent?

    by nice marmot

I thought they flawlessly pulled off a full length film. And Kid Z, do you honestly think that anyone visiting AICN represents the average, mouth breathing Americans that don't care for Wallace & Grommit? Shouldn't you be making such flaming statements elsewhere like in a 'Good Luck Chuck" talkback or something?

I understand where you are coming from and many people feel that way but politics do shape the world we live in and I just want it to remain a nice place even after I am long gone. It is hard to ignore all of the problems created by this administration and I too would rather not devote the energy to it because ultimately my voice holds little weight (and I know I won't change anyone's minds who support Bushie and his like) but it doesn't hurt to speak up.

    Why Were-Rabbit 'underperformed'

    by performingmonkey

It was a film about rabbits and vegetables. Yes it was a fantastic film, I love it, but to a lot of ADD fuckups it's not exactly the kid of flick they want to see, especially with it being NOT CG.

I don't get self-hating Americans either. The best I can figure is they can only fell good about their own pathetic lives by honestly believing that society is so screwed up that they somehow have an enlightened and superior position. I think they are mentally ill. The truth is this is a great country, and you can pretty much determine your own future and do what you want.

Love it when people get pompous and condescending

    by drewlicious

whenever anything British is brought up. Never mind that there are various explanations why Wallace and Gromit underperformed (distribution, track record of stop motion in the past, the fact that Wallace and Gromit are really only relatively well-know here, different temperments in humor) it must be that your average American is stupid and in love with reality TV. Come on, just admit it. You're infatuated with accents. Thats all. It's okay, I for one have a weakness for attractive british women. Seriously they could talk me into anything....anything.

You have a point there. However, I would wager that generally speaking your TV highs are, on average, higher than our highs. For every The Wire you have a Prime Suspect and Cracker. It's because other than Dr. Who you produce far fewer episodes of your good shows. Over there you tend to end their shows when they are over. Coupling was huge, and only had less than 30 episodes. Our closest counterpart was Friends and that was on for 7 years and 200 episodes. It's easy to get stale having to do all that, and even our great shows get tarnished somewhat by it.

    greatest claymation episode ever.
Regards to the "britishness" of this series, one must duly understand, and also for the fact that I am also british, one finds in himself the responsibility to inform you that alas, British people are, by and large, not as anywhere near as charming as these said series lead you to believe. No, indeed far from it, my dear innocent American friends. We are in fact, your very worst nightmare MWAHAAHAA...choke...blasted tea, what is this, Tetleys? Good God, I asked for Darjeeling. What is this blasted world coming to.
