Peter Berg doing a flick on the Jean Paul Getty kidnapping!

Published at:  Oct 02, 2007 3:27:21 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a heads up on some movement up at Universal with Peter Berg doing a flick based on John Pearson's book Painfully Rich: The Outrageous Fortune and Misfortunes of the Heirs of J. Paul Getty. That's a mouthful.

It's a fascinating case (involving body parts and ruthless kidnappers) and one that'll make for an interesting movie. I wonder if Balthazar Getty will get to play a part?

Berg's wrapping up HANCOCK at the moment and has a Kentucky Derby movie he's committed to, but this sounds much more interesting than a feel-good story about a horsie that survives a broken leg. At least to me it does. What about you?

Berg could make an awesome GI JOE flick...

get him involved in the Stephen Sommers film somehow and our prayers could be answered in a solid action film that satisfies the comic(NOT the cartoon) fans.

    The sequel is already written.

    Getty 2: Estelle Getty's revenge.

Where she and the clearly demented Bea Arthur team up to take down a cell of terrorists.

    Peter Berg's horse movie

Was probably planned when it was a story of triumph...& before the poor guy got euthanized after developing laminitis. Way to go!

Waiting for a movie about Carole Anne Gotbaum

The dramatization of her choking herself to death alone will be worth the price of admission.
