-
JOY! It's great to see another collaboration on HBO with these guys.
-
Mr. Plow...
...huh?...
oh... sorry. -
how about david cross focuses on better things, like getting another album out sometime in the next twenty years.
-
It'll get Odenkirk away from the crappy movies he's been making.
-
The next posting explains it some more.... Read on.
http://www.bobanddavid.com/2007/09/hello_everyone.html -
then I'mma gonna come down to where you work and slap the dick out of your mouth...
-
or maybe a cross over with "Lets go to prison"
-
Stoked for new Bob & Davidness.
-
He should flee back to television with his tail between his legs. It will make better use of the little talent that he has.
-
el scorcho, have you not seen Mr.Show? granted, his movies have tanked but does that mean they were bad because they didn't make as much money as garbage like Transformers or another stupid comic book movie? his comedy requires a brain and that is something that most of America lacks. just because Middle America can't understand irony or satire doesnt mean its not funny. Odenkirk has more talent in his left gonad than you will ever dream of having.
Maybe this could be packaged along with Flight Of The Conchords next season. maybe they can even get Troy Miller to work with them again. Mr Show: The Next Generation. -
Can I?
-
best news ive heard in a while...i can only dream of david cross's character landing somewhere between ronnie dobbs and tobias funke
-
so I doubt they will work with him again. Bob had a few show ideas that were good way back when. David is good in just about anything. Bob's was great on Mr. Show, he was good as Manson on the Ben Stiller show, and he wrote "Bad Idea Jeans" for SNL, which was funny at the time.
-
that FOX never aired.
-
Mr. Show is far from being the best thing Odenkirk has ever worked on. He currently is exec. producer and occasional guest star on the funniest show on televison - Tim and Eric's Awsome Show Great Job! Why there is not a talkback about this proves that AICN is not so cool (or hip) when it comes to comedy.
-
Let's all go beat up a hippy to celebrate!!
-
Mr. Show > T&E any day of the week. It's not just my opinion, it's fact.
-
Spongebob in multiple roles! "Questions, questions, questions... modern minds can come up with three questions." "No, but it might make the hunchback (Brian Posehn) feel better." "All facts begin as dreams dreamt by a wizard." http://youtube.com/watch?v=DQaF4YXCXsc
-
i watch the mr. show dvd's repeatedly...i look forward to another collaboration.
-
maybe it's because "Let's Go To Prison" sucked. That was one of the most painfully awkward movies I've watched this side of "Vulgar". Points off.
-
noting how totally awesome Will Arnett is. Totally not his fault.
-
the moon.
that monkey sure took the fun out of everything. -
yeah! everyone will see...ME! NOW PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON!
PUT EM ON!
OOO LA LA -
lets go to prison had its moments unless you're some kind of homophobe.
-
saying that any movie "had its moments" is a kinder way of saying that it pretty much sucked.
-
I've got nothing.
-
You know you want them to make it...I loved Mr. Show. Kinda excited they're working together again, just curious if they're developing something together for other people or if it will be them in the show. Much prefer to see 'em on screen together again.
Damn...Oohhh Girl...ooo woo woo woo girl...Damn...genius stuff. -
A little *fucking* difference.
-
Best news all day.
"Sports bra.......electric sports bra....sorry.....sorry" -
Can I get a fuckin' A?
-
just the whole gay angle seemed forced. the stuff with the neo-nazi's and the battle between the cellmates was damn good!
-
A guest appearance from Mr. Belushi as a truck-stop whore, the Mulattorus, and Sen. Tankerbell. Can I get an amen?
-
Any cockledooo!!!
-
Obviously, something new in the works for HBO by Bob & David makes my pants tight, but in a strictly hetero way. Hopefully it includes Choo-Choo, the Kurkey Jerkey Dancer in some fashion, or perhaps Champion, the drinker.
-
Proof: http://tinyurl.com/2slpuk
Everything he has done since that show has sucked hard. Most especially the Tim & Eric garbage. Notice how quickly both of those shows were shit-canned? He isn't funny. He doesn't know funny. He can't even buy funny. -
Great news...and god...and the bible
-
...And co-written with David Milch, featuring most of the casts of "Deadwood" and "The Sopranos", killing time until their next potboiler. Sure it's a one-joke show, but when the hell has that ever held a sitcom back?
-
'Cuz "Arrested Development" was all kinds of ass. It's sad when one's career highpoint was a series of guest spots on "Just Shoot Me."
-
you watched "Just Shoot Me"
-
still waiting for you to not to be fucking retarded. Arrested Development is clearly the best sitcom of the last 10 years.
-
Would you say he can't give funny, can't even buy funny, and just doesn't get funny?
-
Cross is one of the top 3 stand up comedians working right now, maybe THE best. Time for another album.
-
Oh, you rapscallion. How you jest! You almost had me with that "Arrested Development" bon mot. ......... wait, you were serious? No, you couldn't possibly be serious. You and IraHayes are clearly having a joke at our expense. hahahaha..... you're not. Okay, I don't know what to do with you. grunty, the fact that you put Just Shoot Me and Arrested Development in the same paragraph speaks volumes. Ira, Tim & Eric is funny AT BEST 75% per show. AT BEST. I laugh, sure I do, but I spend just as much time scratching my head and saying, "what the fuck is funny about this?" You probably also suck the dick of Wondershowzen... "I'm confused. That MUST mean it's funny!"

IN MY OPINION:The first time I ever saw a David Cross standup special was around the age of 13. His riffs in pre-9/11 late Clinton-era politics such as assisted suicide, organ donations and marijuana were very funny. This was back when he and Bob were firmly behind the reigns of Mr. Show, driving it on an uneven path into the Comedy hall of fame. This was good stuff.
Unfortunately after the slight resurgence of conservatism in post 9/11 America, Cross became extremely cynical. His string of creative production credits expanded and revealed occasional nuggets of genius, as well as an increasingly apparent over-reliance on the lazier side of stoner -humor placing him down among the B-ranks with the likes of David Arquette and Sarah Silverman rather than propelling him to the ranks of those keeping the genre piping hot on Adult Swim (or a good episode of South Park).
One of Cross's most appealing attributes back in the late 90s was the fact that he was still on the slightly vocal side of laid-back.
Over the year this attribute seems to have reversed itself, with relaxed nature eroding down to next to nothing with Cross's humor becoming jaded and wholeheartedly petty when it comes to getting behind actual "causes"
(A rambling open-letter to Larry 'The Cable Guy' written by Cross contains little humor and many accusations). Of course Larry is a hack, but attempting to mobilize against him, taking an ideological stance against him, seems like holding onto unnecessary stress for everyone. Can you really get that angry about the socioeconomic motivations behind Delta Force? That it will sell well in middle America and Wal-Mart? These didn't used to strike me as things that a comedian like Cross would spend time worrying about, now I can see him losing sleep over it.
Yes, Toby Keith is a deushbag, but it's still lazier to make fun of him than to come up with stuff as good as he did back when I was 13. -
ever seen the video where he gets up on stage with him? Good stuff.
