Hollywood's Robot era?

    by Ikaruga

Iron Man isn't technically a "robot", but neither are the Veritech fighters in the upcoming Robotech film. I wonder if this robot resurgence will be fondly remembered decades from now. I hope so :P

    Comic-con

    by CENOBITE

They were showing this off at the comiccon and it looked pretty cool. I just hope there are cooler enemies than just tanks and planes... but then again I don't know the Ironman lore.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 1:38 a.m. CST

    believe it when...

    by Yum Yum Gibson

i play it. the game for X3 was supposed to blow licensed titles away and the only thing it blew was its own asshole. at least its sega, the fine folks who put together a ground-breaking and enthralling game for charlotte's web...

    Avoid it like the plague!

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 2:55 a.m. CST

The game will be utter shit

    by photoboy

All movie games now are required by contract to be on the shelves at the same time as the movie launch, so you can expect this to be a rushed, buggy and uninspiring load of old bollocks. It will still sell really well unfortunately.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 3:04 a.m. CST

    Great pics

    by SpencerTrilby

the game will probably suck, as everyone stated before me. The GBA game was fun though, as the Marvel VS Capcom ones (especially the first one).

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 3:28 a.m. CST

    The Riddick videogame was tits

    by wash

Ask anyone who played it, it was DAMN good. Probably the most notable exception to the "movie video games suck" rule.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 4:47 a.m. CST

Goldeneye and the Super Star Wars Trilogy

    by Leopold Scotch

Those are the two exceptions that come to mind for me (as well as Spidey 2 for the most part). I think I've posted this argument about fifty times on AICN already though.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 5:16 a.m. CST

i'll reserve my opinion when I actually SEE the game.

    by Stalkeye

And I agree with Shuttlepod in regards to the Superman returns game. Same goes for disapointing Spiderman 3 game. Looks can be deceiving indeed. And since it's being done by SEGA, considering their recent track record (Sonic anyone?)I'm not having high expectations for the game. In the meantime I'll keep playing MUA thank you.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 5:19 a.m. CST

I hope they sell shitloads of it

    by SpencerTrilby

so Sega could greenlight Shenmue III.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 5:33 a.m. CST

I read a preview on the game...

    by LittleDudes

at NZGamer.com and it looks awesome, but sounds like shit. After all, it's a fucking movie tie-in, they always suck (Riddick discounted).

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 6:07 a.m. CST

So it's just a model swap in Hulk Ultimate Destruction?

    by Immortal_Fish

Why would Stark be fighting the army? I mean, there's more to it than just this, yes?
H:UD was a great game, BTW. Just don't see how Iron Man fits into that context.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 7:02 a.m. CST

got to see the game play first hand at the comic con

    by JeanLuc Dickhard

it is fucking beautiful one part had iron man grab a missle from mid air spin around and throw it back at a chopter, he moves live the suit ways a ton so as he lands he will slide a bit the rumble featue will play a big part in the 360 version, and the suit is indestructible, he will have breaches from time to time and he can always ly there will be no running out of power like other games

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 7:47 a.m. CST

The way to completly ace this game

    by fireclown

1: Fin Fang Foom. 2: Booze. There was a mission in Vice City where you were utterly drunk and had to get your buddy to a hospital. The controls were all sluggish, and you vision was poor. There was little chance of getting there without buggering up your car to heck and back. We could call it a DARE segment, a cautionary tale of flying and drinking or some such twaddle. It would be tits.

Iron Man Movie is more US Army than GI Joe Movie

    by PirateEmery

Anyone else see a problem with this?

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 11:27 a.m. CST

The Punisher game was way better than the movie

    by Immortal_Fish

The one with Thomas Jane doing the voice of Castle. Loved interrogation mode. Tons of stuff to unlock. And there was an actual villain at the end of the game where the movie had none.
Amazing how much that game got right considering how much the movie got wrong.

  • Sept. 12, 2007, 11:51 a.m. CST

    Leopold

    by wash

Never had much of a chance to try Goldeneye, but yeah, the Lego Star Wars games, especially the Orginal Trilogy One, were great. Hell, if you expand the field to ALL Star Wars games, I'd estimate a full 1/3rd of them are good to great. The Jedi Knight Series, X-Wing series, Rogue Squadron, KOTOR, etc...all good stuff.

    Crappy Concept Art- Seriously

    by Samus Aran

Quint, you need to learn something about art. Do you not see that these have horrible composition. There are almost zero ideas in the paintings. They aren't even actual paintings almost because one of them clearly has a photograph of clouds in the background; the artist is too much of a hack to paint everything. And the style is painfully the same Craig Mullins ripoff that almost ALL video game concept is nowadays. Craig Mullins is a great artist, but it sure is annoying to see that his style is the only style allowed nowadays, like it's the law or something. Quint if you like this painting so much then just go to goodbrush.com. You will get your fill of paintings like this but much much better, and perhaps you may start to want something different afterwards. I agree that this artist did a pretty good job of rendering in a similar style to Mullins, but his sense of design and composition and imagination is completely vacant. Finally, Ironman does look like it will be a good movie, but if you somehow think that games made from movies are good games, then you either don't play good games, or you have horrible taste in them. My conclusion here is that Quint has horrible taste in art, horrible taste in games, and good taste in Jaws characters. Quint seriously, did you see a single interesting idea in these paintings? Or do you just geek out the moment you see a halfway decently rendered Ironman from Photoshop.

    Shenmue 3

    by damagedinc

I'd give up playing videogames for two years if it would guarantee Shenmue 3 being made

Why is this chimp getting excited about CONCEPT ART!

Meanwhile, at the pre-TGS event MS unveils Ninja Gaiden 2 for the X360. Ms will be publishing the game themselves. This is yet another reason to own a X360.

I thought Enter the Matrix did a good job...

    by Johnno

You know... as far as movie tie-in games go... at least they tried to do some cool stuff with it and making it relevant to the franchise.

I won't pop a vein like samus, but...

    by ewokstew

He's fairly right on in his assessment. Lot's of detail and a passable knowledge of color theory do not a good concept piece make. It's like the old (really old) Frazetta vs Boris comparison. Frazetta can accomplish in five brush strokes what it takes Boris fifteen to do. Both are talented, no doubt. But Frazetta can suggest atmosphere, mood, tension, etc, masterfully without overworking the piece. This artist isn't a hack. He is clearly talented. But these pieces are nothing to go crazy over. That being said, Geoff Darrow is a detail freak, but darned if he doesn't make it work somehow.

Can we super neuro-desintegrate Osama bin Lameass?

    by KongMonkey

Just checking, would be cool. Kinda like that level in Hitman 2 where you have to assasinate two dudes that look like Saddam and Osama.
