Hey folks, Harry here... Last night we held the final special screening of HATCHET here in Austin. It's weird to think of this film as just now coming out. I first watched it - feels like April or so of last year. Watched it as a double bill with ABOMINABLE at my house - like the first party that Yoko and I held there. Now it's finally hitting theaters and though I've seen it well over a dozen times, I still found myself jumping, laughing and craving more from Victor Crowley.
I see my quote on this film everywhere. THE NEXT ICON OF HORROR. And I mean it. I absolutely feel that Victor Crowley needs to be a Halloween mask, action figures, a heavy metal ballad song, bumper stickers, t-shirts - and the star of a series of badass, no holds barred Monster/Slasher/Louisiana Swamp Movies! Wherever you are - if this film is playing near you. Take everyone you know that loves kickass horror films - and see it. Notify everyone on your friends lists when you get back and go again.
The reason this isn't coming out from a bigger company than Anchor Bay is the mentally unsound concept that ORIGINAL Horror doesn't make money in today's marketplace. It's kinda hard to argue with, when the only thing making tons of money in the horror realm seems to be sequels, remakes and retreads. The reality is - the only way Victor Crowley becomes THE NEXT ICON OF HORROR is if we all support him, if we love him. Me, I want the toys and the further adventures. Victor Rocks!
