Wanna see a better trailer for THE SIGNAL? Sure ya' do!!!

Published at:  Aug 30, 2007 3:49:12 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I loved this movie when I saw it at Sundance earlier this year and it held up for a second viewing at SXSW. You may have noticed Harry posted the new trailer for the flick a few days ago and didn't care for it too much.

I see where the studio is going here. Make something flashy and crazy and mysterious to draw in the people, but I think they instead made something that is just turning people off. I know I wouldn't be very interested in seeing it based off that new trailer, but the below trailer I love.

It disappeared off the net a long time ago, now it's back thanks to YouTube. You can always depend on YouTube. So, if you saw that last trailer and thought it looked shit, check out the one below. You get a better idea of the movie you'll see. Enjoy!

    by solondz

Due to musical right issues, i was asked to remove this trailer from my you tube account by the people that manage the marketing of the film. Anyone can tellme when the Sign is going to arrive europe? Thanx.

    by nomoredirtyjokespleaseweareyanks

Jesus's penchant for sluishing mammaries or the anticipation for the flick? Because if its the former...well I have something weird, thrilling and offensively sacreligeous to show thee.

I'm facinated by that trailer... as a matter of fact, it makes me want to bash someones head in and blame it on that trailer. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go back to making jerky out of aborted fetuses and watching 'Showgirls'.

    28 Days Later rehash

    by spencey7

Almost everything about this trailer screams 28 Days Later. The cinematography, the corruption of the central character - they've even stolen the "burning zombie". I doubt this is going to be as revolutionary as Harry claimed.

King wrote Cell during the time period of Dec 30, 2004 through Oct 17, 2005. Don't know when you saw the first trailer for Signal. Not sayin' one is a rip of the other, but there you go.

If it is to be a Cell rip off, for Gods sake let them just end it 3/4 of the way through. That Steve, he can't end a book.

    by blue_demon

This looks like every crappy rip-off movie you see after a successful original flick captures the imagination. Nothing in that trailer made me want to go to a theater to watch it. Rental at best.

    Cell ripoff??? No.

    by redfist

I read that "Cell" was released about the same time that this film was in production. And I almost sure there will be nothing in this flick about hive minds and implanted memories....well just enjoy the movie eh.

The Music on this trailer "Perfect Day"

    by hitchcock'n'balz

Was the reason this trailer got pulled, it is a cover by (im pretty sure) Clay Cook, J.T. Hall, and Ben Lovett..Ben scored the film, and they had to remove this cover, cause they couldn't get the rights to use it.
also, How many fuckin times does it have to be explained that this is nothing like, nor was it based on the Cell by Stephen King...or 28 days later for that matter...not that it matters..seeing this film will stop the hate...

    Just a thought

    by cobbio

I liked the visuals in the trailer but thought the "You just keep me hangin' on" music drained it dry of any interest for me.
This is suposed to be a great movie, right? Everything I've read has been real positive. Hey movie promoters: how about making a real trailer that works on every level?
    Just a thought.

But not when you use it to score a movie trailer. That may have been the worst cover I ever heard.
