Terrence Howard to brawl in the streets for Rogue Pictures and Dito Montiel!!!

Published at:  Aug 23, 2007 7:24:08 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Terrence Howard is a busy man these days. It seems like he has 200 movies about to come out and another 200 movies he's attached to.

Add another one onto the pile. This time it's the new film from Dito Montiel (A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS), an Untitled flick at Rogue about streetfighters. As in rough and dirty motherfuckers. Terrence Howard is going to be the veteran streetfighting coach and Channing Tatum (STEP UP) is going to be his pupil. A hard edged KARATE KID, maybe? I love Howard and what he does and I'm sure he's going to be great in this, but I'd be lying if a small part of me doesn't wish we'd see Keith David in this role. It might be too old, but a rough and street-fighting badass? We know he's got it. "You dirty muthafucka!"

    Sounds like...

    by sledge hammer

...a remake of the Bronson/Coburn film Hard Times, with a Million Dollar Baby twist. Oh, and Keith David owns all...if only I could get him to put on those fucking sunglasses. Stubborn S.O.B.

Carol Channing Was a Hell of a Streetfighter

    by kevinwillis.net

In her day. She knocked one dude's eyeball right out of his head, and then sang a song about it with a full orchestra. That was some hardcore shit.

    Guide to...

GTRYS wasn't all that great. It was beautifully shot and some of the performances were good. It was nice to see some of the interactions, etc. but in the end, it felt clumsily put together. I have a lot of respect for Montiel, and I find his life story interesting, so I do have hope that this film, with the help of a potentially strong performance by Howard, will be more promising and perhaps a little more tightly assembled.

JLA is Going to Be all CGI, So . . .

    by kevinwillis.net

Which should probably be synonymous with all straight-to-DVD, even if it's not. I just don't see JLA working outside of cartoons, or the printed page. Batman Vs. Superman? Sure. A Flash and Supes team up? I just don't think such major characters in an ensemble is gonna work, unless a miracle happens. But a straight-to-DVD mo-cap CGI movie might be fun to watch. Especially if they feature Power Girl. I always loved Power Girl.

    Uh .... "Guide" sucked no?

    by cowboyone

Maybe if Montiel didn't write this new piece it'll be coherent.

    I heard that Kurzinsky

it still amazes me the amount of unimportant, trivial and totally worthless shit the movie stars can spit during an interview. And, unless the women in question have really poor hygiene, the guy is a real douchebag. Pun intended too.

sounds good, Some dirty gritty fighting scenes that will awaken the animal inside. Those Bourne Ultimatum fight scenes were killer.

The guy from STEP UP in a streetfighter movie? I can imagine him in a Taco Bell uniform, or maybe even in a Kevin Frederline biopic, but fighting? People have seen "Step Up," right? Who in the world would be scared of that guy? He dances like a spasmodic goat on 'roids.
