Published at:  Aug 22, 2007 10:11:31 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a little update on the AICN King of Kong screening that's happening in Minneapolis tonight.

Noneother than Steve Wiebe will be in attendance to answer your questions after the movie.

Congrats again to those that nabbed tickets through this site... This is an entirely AICN audience, so make sure to give him some love. Steve Wiebe's the man. Enjoy the screening!

    It's a great film.

And Stevie kicks fucking ass at DK. Saw him at the Drafthouse screening here in A-TX. Loved every minute of it, even if I did know the outcome.

Oh, sorry, I get it: new month, new theme - Donking rather than Eli.

I live in the Twin Cities, but I missed the Minneapolis contest. I will see this though as the theater starts playing it for the public on Friday.

The Lagoon (at least that's where it's playing at, so I would assume the screening is there as well.)

Chicago's a hop skip and a jump from MN!! We couldn't get him for the Chicago screening last night? Absolutely loved it BTW. I'm with Salchucks - definitely the best damn documentary I've ever seen.

    by billypilgrim

I actually won a ticket but my dickhead boss is forcing me into overtime tonight! SHIT! So there will be one extra seat open. The winner of the Kumate death match gets the seat. Eh, just show up at the Lagoon and stand in line.

    Wow!

    by deepfocusreview

Just got back, and what a movie! It was like melodrama meshed with "Trekkies". Steve Wiebe was great too, although people were asking some dumb questions. One person asked who paid for Wiebe's flight to Minneapolis... Why not ask what he had for lunch? Anyway, loved the movie, and Wiebe--what a nice guy, particularly in contrast to the semi-evil Billy Mitchell. Thanks for the tickets, Quint!

    Awesome Documentary

    by prof. brainiac

I just got back from the Minneapolis showing, and Steve was indeed there. The man got a standing ovation when he was introduced after the movie, and seemed very grateful of all the attention he is now getting. I am definitely going to check this out again when it officially opens here on Friday!

    great film

    by tenenbaum

Quint, thanks for setting this up! The film is one of the year's best and it was great to meet Steve. Wow, what a down to earth, cool guy. Pretty amazing that one second he's unemployed, playing Donkey Kong in his garage and now he's jetting around the country to Q&A his own doc. It was fun to see this with a good audience as well. Keep the events coming here Quint! We love us some film here in Mpls!

It'd be nice to know what this is, so a little explanation is in order Quint.
