Capone wants you to check out the trailer for Sidney Lumet's BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD!!!
Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here. You know me; I do review and the occasional interview here and there. But I'll admit, I don't deliver a lot of the more news-oriented postings. But I've got a little something here that I haven't seen widely distributed yet, and it sure as hell is not safe for the office.
One of the films I am truly looking forward to seeing this fall is Sidney Lumet's BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD, starring Ethan Hawke, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Marisa Tomei, who is apparently 18 different kinds of naked in this movie. What I discovered are a couple different sites housing the film's French trailer (I don't believe one has been issued in the U.S. yet), which blessedly features a tasty morsel of Tomei in various stages of undress. These are the two places I found the trailer. Oh, and the movie looks pretty kick ass as well. Enjoy.

It's really fucking boring. Most of the movie is shot with one camera, TV style, with almost no cuts during the scenes and it's tough to sith through an entire movie like that. Marisa Tomei is topless a few times, so that's the only thing that makes it watchable.

That pretty much was the whole movie, right? And if naked Tomei is the only reason to see it, we get that in the trailer too, so we're all set!

Yeah, I buy that. Kind of like Owen Wilson, Jason Swartzenbaum, and Adrien Brody. Real lookalikes.

I hate when a trailer gives up every fucking plot detail almost as much as when this site forgets that there are movie fans who would like to actually like to see a movie with out knowing every single detail about the movie before buying a ticket.

giving up too much plot. Wow, apparently in France the trailers are basically the cliffnote version of the movie. Unless all that we saw in this trailer unfolds in the first half hour and most of the movie is about dealing with the aftermath of killing their own mother, what is the point of even going to see the movie now? It has a great cast, but it seems I have seen the movie already. The only payoff we haven't seen is when Bryan Cox's character finds out that his two sons were responsible for his wife's death.

He beats the shit out of those dogs with a pitch fork. I thought this movie looked interesting,too much in the trailer though.

I had to watch it because I'm a big Lumet fan, but it seems like they give away the entire first two acts of the movie. I really hope that when I do see the whole thing, there's a lot more to it than what's given away in the trailer.

for me not to give this a chance. As over the top as the performances in Q&A were, i.e. Nick Nolte, that was still a heck of a movie.

The trailer showed all the major plot points. The nude Marisa Tomei I can get on Mr. Skin next week.

OK, not ever, but the trailer should have come with a spoiler warning. Nice Tomei nudity though.

I watch her in the "Day after the Day After Tomorrow" or some other shitty "message" movie because she is soooo hot.
Ethan Hawke is a little bitch though. He need to get the hell away from her before I do a tap dance and his head and make him like it.

Jesus, I stopped after 3 minutes because I might actually want to go see this movie in the theater. I guess this is why the French hate American movies so much....

I'll see the full lengh version of it...just to see more of Marisa Tomei's yummy gum drops! (and I guess to see how it ends, since we saw everything else!)

It was for distributors, they're actually quite pissed. Just like Walsh about the MEDELLIN trailer on ENTOURAGE. If you'll notice, it spoils the entire movie. Maybe next time, do a little bit of research? Your heart is in the right place though.

I was just going to say that. It's not a trailer for public viewing as evident by the "NOW IN POST PRODUCTION" line in the end.
But I have to say that this looks great, good premise and great cast and Lumet is a pretty solid director.
