Do you need Cox? I got more Cox than you can handle! WALK HARD trailer leaks online!!!

Published at:  Aug 16, 2007 6:12:46 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the new trailer from the Apatow team, a flick called WALK HARD with John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer and tons of the regulars... like Paul Rudd (as John Lennon) and Kristen Wiig.

The flick comes off as the most spoofy of the Apatow Team flicks we've seen, a direct riff on the Oscar bait biography movies of famous singers (WALK THE LINE in particular), but that's not a bad thing. Actually Jake Kasdan looks to have shot an incredibly beautiful movie and John C. Reilly looks great.

The good guys over at Filmick broke the story. Head over there to find a plethora of options on where to get the trailer. It doesn't look like an official release, so you might have to spend some time downloading. I got it at sendspace.com, but I'm not sure if that still works. They have mirrors up at Filmick, though. Enjoy!!!

This has been out for a few weeks now.

If you want your own copy of the trailer go to best buy, and look for the superbad special pre-screen thing, it has a ticket to superbad, and should be free with the purchase of select movies. I ended up paying the $13 for it.

It has the walk hard trailer, the superbad trailer (not red band) 3 scenes from the movie, and behind the scenes thing with Bill Hader and Seth Rogen, and a short film with Bill Hader and Seth Rogen similar to the show cops.

Surely John C. Reilly will win the Ocsar for his deeply moving portrayal of this legendary performer.

    by elgordo

John C. Reilly is a great actor but he doesn't really work for me as a comedian. He was one of the reasons Taladega Nights didn't blow me away, that and the film wasn't particluarly funny to begin with. But we'll see.

Man, eff the haters - I couldn't help but laugh during that. And it's like shot for shot of Walk the Line, didn't know it would be that direct, plus like 20 more years of career. Hahaha.

    by bloo

but hmmmmm Nikki Cox...needs to get um...well needs to do more movies...or TV Shows...or even crappy sitcoms, anything for more...exposure.The only thing about this that intrests me is jake Kasdan, he's devolping into a good filmmaker, anxious to see what he does with this material.

Well, that sucks. I was excited about this but it does look like another "Date Movie"-type comedy where the "comedy" is just in the recognition of where scenes come from.

When Jack White is the funniest part of the trailer, it's time to go back to the editing room.

    This movie is fucking hillarious

    by bass bastardson

I saw it at a screening last night. It was fucking hysterical. There hasn't been a parody as spot on and funny as this one since the height of the Zucker Abrahms Zucker era. (sorry, Wet Hot American Summer) It got a little bit bogged down in songs toward the end, and there were a few too many Cox jokes (although, the audience certainly ate them up... oh, man I didn't even mean to do that) but for the most part it was great. And no, it is not a Date Movie type movie. The Scary, Date and Epic Movies were unfunny pieces of crap who's writer/directors didn't understand that there is more to satire than simply re-staging a bunch of scenes from unrelated movies and tying them together with a thread of a plot. Satire requires observational wit and commentary, which Walk Hard has in spades. It doesn't simply trot out cliches, it skewers them.

i.e. that guy from jim carrey's man on the moon movie. Rob Scheidner maybe (that woulda been cool too.) I'm sure there will be critics of the this movie.
