-

-
...it was the fame, the glory of being the first! im so sorry!!! forgive...*snap* ---------------------------------------------- (flatline)
-
...Harry?...anybody...Herc? where are you guys?....
-
Of the clips you do see, the animation does look stunning. A lot more fluid than the Marvel DVD movies & the style....well, it's Cooke's style from the comics so bless 'em for getting that right! Anyone else concerned that we didn't hear from the actors? Just the usual DC Top Brass going "*SPLOOGE!* IT R GR8£!$!*DOUBLESPLOOGE!*"
-
cheer up. I posted too!
-
..of this TB.
-
...now THAT is wrong, just plain wrong.
-
speaking London is hard.
-
It always throws me off when someone other than Conroy does the voice over for an animated Batman
-
Keep 'em coming DC.
-
Rollin wit da homies!
-
that was a reference to Clueless in case nobody picked up on it
-
Just so.
-
Super heroes that are..you know... super AND heroes? Surely at the very least Flash will be gay or something.
-
Origin stories? Re-hashed old JLA stories? Talking heads telling us how good the comic is, trying to sell the vid? If this is any good, they're doing their damnest to hide the fact.
-
but I'm a little worried that they didn't run any of the clips w/voices.
-
I downloaded this last week off of xbox 360's Video Marketplace. There is also Legion of Superheroes and Batman's new Justice League. I'm just sayin'. . .
-
I, just like many of you, loved Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman. I watched/heard his work from day one of Batman: TAS. But that is obviously not the route DC/Warners wanted to take i.e. well known guest names. I can see the marketing to the masses now: "Kyle Maclachlan! Lucy Lawless! Neil Patrick Harris! David Boreanaz! and KEVIN CONROY!"...Yeah, I can totally see Lindsay Lohan raise a toast to that one....Conroy is fantastic and I hope he comes back soon (in a dedicated Batman project), but Sisto is just fine. Give yer bitchin a rest and break out an enema, for God's sake.
-
so why have conroy voice him, it would be stupid to only keep conroy when all the other voices are different
-
Granted it's just a preview, but the animation seemed to have a more 70's look to it. I was really hoping for the big bold lines and retro look of the book.
-
that is all
-
... but that's not really a trailer is it? Let's hear the voices! I hope that DC kicks the ass of Marvel's crappy direct to dvd movies. Darwyn Cooke seems to be intimately involved in the adaptation, which is a good sign. The Marvel movies were basically done by a bunch of untalented dudes that thought they could "improve" on work that was done by great people.
-
JLA cast of voices was perfect already.
-
i don't give a fuck. jeremy sisto? he's the man. if anyone doubts jeremy sisto will be a great bat-voice, they're mistaken.david boreanaz and warrior princess? what's wrong with them? the cast will be perfectly acceptable. and the reason they recast the roles is because the new frontier is not a continuation or even in the same universe as JLU. I'm guessing the producers don't want the kiddies (or, apparantly, us) to get confused. (although seeing as this isn't connected to that justice league show, i don't see why they needed to use the same font as the show did and call it "Justice League: the new frontier." just fucking call it the new frontier, we know what we're buying, and just slap a cartoon batman and superman on the front for the kiddies.) .... what was i talking about again?
-
The top pic is funny. Why frame Batman so prejudicially? As if him and Robin stuff cock in their faces.
-
I have seen every ep of anything in the DC Animated Universe, and I loved Conroy and his era...but...this looks great too. It's different, so the voices should be different. Hell, they could be giving us another Superman - Brainiac Attacks, you know? I think they should be applauded for finally attempting to take a good book and do it right, that's what they should always be doing, it's so simple.

It's simply a fact.
-
Please.
I hope SUPERMAX gets made. -
I bought both the trade paperbacks of The New Frontier and found the whole thing kind of boring and overblown. I'd rather see an animated version of JLA: The Nail, or Superman: Red Son.
-
From the clip, Bruce Timm is involved but his influence may be minimal, judging from his very brief appearance.
That would be a shame. -
On Boomerang last night, his tortured reading of a Batman forced to confront his fears by Dr. Crane on Justice Friends, or one of those millions of 70s knockoff shows, convinced me. Plus, he could deliver the line "And how come nobody ever does the Batusi anymore?"
-
Maybe Sisto will do a great job. I have nothing to judge him on because i have not yet gotten to 6 feet under on DVD yet. I just know that any time i see an animated batman, i hear Conroy's voice in my head and it will be distracting to hear something else. At least initially.
-
And by the way, this beats the shit out of anime.
-
Actually Kevin Conroy is not Batman. He is just a very good actor who's (voice) performance of Batman is (to this date) definitive to most fans......But hey let's what this other guy can do, I'm open.
-
Just got the new Isis DVD set. It kicks ass. Don't fuck with Isis. O Mighty Isis!!!!!!!!!!
-
Regardless, it ain't a trailer. It's a guy talking for several minutes over a few screencaps.
-
What the hell is this? All I hear is JFK talking, there's no video! They've managed to fuck up You Tube now too? I hate the changing formats!
-
What the hell are you talking about? It's a promo trailer showing footage from the movie and pages from the source it's inspired by. It's a run of the mill puff piece and a trailer.
-
Darwyn Cooke, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
-
which is really cool! This is the most exciting DC direct to DVD release in some time! AND -- Doogie Howser as Flash! How can this go wrong????
-
this seems like some sorta extra or featurette, wouldnt be surprised if that ends up on the disc.
-
WTF?
-
'Mask of the Phatasm' was the best cartoon / movie to hit the theatre.
-
...that I have read - hope they make that one into a movie too someday.
-
...so Warner should take note, that he is now a big name - you know - I'm sure they are reading this talkback as part of "What do our audience want to see" research along with their "what percentage of our audience is on AICN talkback" and "how best to F*** them" researches

I was watching Genndy Tartakovsky's "Clone Wars" last night and realized if he did a big budget feature length animation of Batman The Dark Knight Returns it would be frigg'n unbelievable. Is there anyway that could ever happen?

just thought I'd add that.
-
will be neurotic and totally in love with his sister, and ultimately will talk her to death.
-
Hey, Byrne's five year run on Fantastic Four was one of the consistently highest quality performances on any comic in the 20th century, so cut him some slack.
His style just doesn't fit well with today's hip, edgy, cynical heroes.
-
Does anyone know how to go about pre-ordering this DVD? Early January isn't really *that* far away, but I can't find the DVD on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or anywhere else on the web...
-
While I haven't read the books, so your comments about the politics potentially being anachronistic are appreciated. The notion that Kennedy did "nothing" in office is, however, absurd. While I agree that many people have an overly romantic notion of JFK's time in office (as has been the case with other past presidents), ignoring his successes with the Cuban Missile Crisis, contributions on the front-end of the civil rights era, establishment of the Peace Corps and his push for elevating the US presence in the space race is simply unfair. Yes, he also had significant failures, but both successes and failures all came in roughly 1/2 a term. Beyond that, if JFK were to take a time machine to the present day, it's doubtful that he could be a politician. He *especially* couldn't be a Republican who'd receive the Presidential nomination. Remember... he actually risked his life while in the military, lamented the boys lost during the Bay of Pigs, and actually chose a few battles that could be won in a person's lifetime. At best, JFK as a Republican would be greeted as warmly as Jack Kemp.
-
I have to agree with some of you. Why show all the voice actors and not let you hear them? I guess I'll have to wait for some more exciting developments for this later.... err much much later apparently. :/
-
Couldn't something be done for the show or is it going to turn out like the ultimate avengers??
-
I guess you don't ever read anything other than comics, huh? Books, newspapers, etc...?
-
has anyone on this talkback even read the new frontier? read the damn graphic novels people, they really are good. and it is DC so that is saying a lot.
