Favreau has some home video from his Comic-Con experience he wants to share with the world!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. You've seen the leaked the footage, you've read/heard my interviews with Favreau, Downey and Howard and now the only that is left is some home video shot by Jon Favreau during his time at the Marvel booth. Of course, his home videos have cameos by the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Stan Winston and a giant grey suit of armor... and about 500 screaming fans... and is that a smokin' hot redhead I see in the background? This is very much the Comic-Con experience. Enjoy!

    Suit in action

    by Jaxon727

Don't know how many of you had a chance to catch the Comic Con video for this movie , there or online before they had to take it down, But the suit looks even better in action. I might be buying into the hype, but I think they are going to do this one right.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 4:17 p.m. CST

Ok, now that is cool (the armour not the home video)

    by Aloy

Just the retro look I was hoping for!

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 4:19 p.m. CST

    Meh

    by BringingSexyBack

Not that it's not cool, but after seeing that bootlegged trailer, we already know this movie's gonna rock. No need to sell it at this point.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 4:20 p.m. CST

    Man in suit!

And Stan looks a little chubby.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 4:21 p.m. CST

    by BringingSexyBack

Wasting this coolness on the left-coasties.

    Iron Man Villains

    by GimmieMyBackpackBack

Iron Man must have been out taking a piss when all the other superheroes were picking fights with cool villains. Just like Marvel ripped off Batman for their idea for Iron Man, I hope mr,favereauoueou rips off Mr. Nolan's BATMAN BEGINS and injects some fucking AWESOMENESS into this legacy of shit!

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 4:30 p.m. CST

    Leaked footage

    by Ang_Lee

I never will understand why they show 1st run trailers only at these conferences knowing that there will be leaks. Why in hell would you want the first look, feeling/vide, pace, etc, at your movie to be some crappy video from a cell phone?!? At least launch it the same day or next day in HD. F'en stupid.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 4:39 p.m. CST

it depends on what your there for

    by Phategod1

Comicon should be about Comics 1st second and last and all paraphernalia the trailers and panels are a added bonus.

Marvel didn't "rip off" Batman to create Iron Man

    by MattNC

The resemblances between Stark and Wayne are superficial. Both are wealthy playboys who inherited money, but Stark has immersed himself in expanding his father's business, and is the primary reason for its advancement, through his knowledge of electronics. Wayne fights crime mostly due to his parents' murder, which he witnessed as a child, while Stark's entre into crime fighting occurs due to a profession-related event. However, it's interesting that both are seen as two of the more tortured members of the superhero universe.--- As for Iron Man villains being weak, they aren't as cool as, say, Spider-Man's (Electro, Rhino, Sandman, Kingpin, etc. - never cared for the Green Goblin, who seemed silly to me), but Iron Man foes Ultimo and the Blood Brothers freaked me out when I was a kid, and I also like The Gladiator, Unicorn, Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man (the latter of whom was frightening), and Madame Masque. The Mandarin was always a bit over the top.---It's pretty obvious that this film is going to deliver a great movie experience, with great SFX, better than usual acting for a Superhero pic, and some unusual elements.---I downloaded the Comic con footage (35 mb mpg), so the links are out there if you really want the footage. We might see a good quality release of the footage in a month or two, along with a teaser.

I geek out on the Marvel site and once and a while they have some "scooped" material.<p> The photos of the "1" are pretty sweet. Fav's music in his clip is a nice touch, however.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 5:24 p.m. CST

    I was at Comic Con!

    by HellKing

That was an experience. You get all this Comic Con exclusive free crap just for watching the panels. And there are celebrities all over the place. And for the one who asked why don't they have one on the east coast, they do... in New York. SO that's you're own fault for not attending and making it that big. And for your information San Diego is right-wing territory.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 5:37 p.m. CST

    Iron Man rocked the house!

    by WONKABAR

btw they call it left-coast cuz it's like, on the left of teh map.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 5:50 p.m. CST

"Left Coast" is a derogatory term used by the right.

    by HellKing

Why not say West coast then? He didn't say "right coast" when he said "east coast." Get with the lingo.

  • Aug. 2, 2007, 6:10 p.m. CST

Maybe there are more left-handed people...

    by WONKABAR

    COMICON has become essential

    by Silverglade

Even if your film is not comics based, if you miss out on the growing powerful publicity and awareness fest that is COMICON, you are left in the dust. It is amazing to me how each year this thing grows. And it looks to be a great time! For fans AND the cast and crew who appear to show off their upcoming project. For Jon, Rodney and the crew I definitely get the impression the Iron Man panel had a fucking blast at this. Good on 'em. It also shows just how much the crowd is ready to love the final product. 2008 is gonna be so huge.

The director played Foggy Nelson in Dardevil

    by Rufferto

To bad he didn't direct it. This looks great. I hate it when I hear complaints about the character and how he's not as good as (insert botched comic movie property here). If you have read enough Iron mans, preferably the one published in the 80's you would realize he can be a pretty deep conflicted character and as well written as anything out at the time. Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger was Iron man's greatest enemy. If my memory serves me he staged Tony's descent into alcoholism and the loss of his company to him. The only reason he isn't really talked about much anymore is because he was killed off way to soon. I am thrilled the character is part of this and I hope he is used well. (Hopefully not to wear armor until a sequel.) He should be in the background being sneaky and manipulating events like a good expert chess player he was.
