I am – Hercules!!

“Millennium” writer-producer Chip Johannessen has replaced David Greenwalt as showrunner of “Moonlight,” CBS’ new vampire private-detective drama.

This dashes hopes that Rob Thomas – who collaborated with “Moonlight” producer Joel Silver as showrunner of the CW’s acclaimed private-detective drama “Veronica Mars” for three seasons – might be recruited for “Moonlight.”

This show has been done 3 times in the past 16 years

    by yeti

Forever Knight in the early 90's
    Angel 1999-2004
    Blood Ties - 2007
I'm curious to see if they do anything different or if it's another re-hash of the the other 3 shows.

That's where you're wrong, if I've got nothing on topic to say, why bother? I'll never understand the thrill of the first-post, but then I get laid on a regular basis.....
On topic.... I never watched Millennium, so this doesn't change my view of this new show... I'll watch the first couple of eps and decide if it's worth my time. Rob Thomas would have certainly helped increase my interest.
I've become pretty jaded (like many) about serialized TV. It seems that anything but court dramas, medical shows, and police procedurals are doomed from the start... And I've lost complete interest in watching another ep of any of those.....

    Chip Johannesson? Kiss of death...

    by roguewriter

He helped Chri$ Carter fuck up MILLENNIUM beyond all recognition. The guy's a good writer, not a showrunner by any stretch of the imagination. A shame. But then, there's nothing about this disaster-in-the-making that suggested it would be anything but. Glad Greenwalt got out while the gettin was good...

    I was going to say...

    by strabo

...that this rocks! I love Millennium, so anyone who worked on that show--pre season three, which the Studio screwed up--is in my good graces automatically. Unfortunately, Roguewriter seems to have other ideas. Perhaps he knows more about the backstage politics than I do. Care to explain that statement?

Which was a piece of shit. This show was done as soon as Greenwalt bounced.

I haven't seen anything about this, actually. Although it will be interesting to see which of the two shows with the similar hook will turn out better... vampire detective or immortal cop.

    What A Great Idea!

    by laserpants

I don't think there has ever been a cult-hit tv show based on this premise that was cancelled prematurely just as it was hitting its stride and was called ANGEL. Uh, wait, that is to say that... uh...

    by paul t. ryan

Seriously. Its over. Let it go. Besides, Chip Johanssen has done some really good work in the past on Millennium. I will admit I've never watched VM (they had Paris Hilton on the show and the male lead is a Scientologist, both of which count heavily against it for me), but seriously, you've really got to move on man. I still weep for Arrested Development, but I'm not hoping for Mitchell Hurwitz to take over every other new show.

    Rob Thomas?

    by lynxpro

Did this guy decide to get a new career as a writer because Matchbox 20 went off the same cliff that Creed did? Next thing you know, Shawn Cassidy will move in on the production and convince them to move the plot at a pace compatible with the Slowskis just as he did with ABC's failure known as *Invasion*.

So far it's been a fun little show. I just hope they're able to keep the show from turning into the cloying thing that Monk is.What will people send to CBS once Moonlight gets canned?

    by the selecter

on E!? He's either being excessively evasive, or it just confirms that the 24 producers don't know what the fuck they're doing. Anything that sticks to the wall *within the budget* is OK. Judging by the show, especially lately, I'd say the latter.Um, hello? People keep bitching about the characters you guys killed because they were the reasons we watched, and you just flicked them off like pieces of lint, for no good reason.

    A Crime Fighting Vampire ...

    by lain of the net

I don't know how they are hyping in the States but in TO they are using the phrase "A Crime Fighting Vampire". Is that corporate crime, drug crime, crimes of poverty, shoplifting or "I'm Batman and you really shouldn't have parked there." See ...I will check it out (no real doubt of that) but I am a bit fatigued by crime fighting no matter who is doing it. (Bones is ok but she is delightfully wacked out and Boreanaz is fun to look at.)

    This show is doomed

    by tvguy4566

To many changes in front and behind the camera. The entire cast except the lead has been turned over and they are on their third show runner. Sounds like the network loved the concept and hated the execution. They just keep retooling until they get it right which should be about a month after it is canceled.

I agree Burn Notice should get a TB

    by tvguy4566

This show is better than most of the shows on the regular networks. The Bruce Campbell factor alone should earn it a TB on this site.

    The Selecter

    by tvguy4566

I think 24 shot itself in the foot the second they went into large scale storylines. They basically kept on trying to outdo themselves in the shoock value. The first season revolved around a very narrow plot of killing a presidental candidate and revenge on Jack. It has escalated to nuking LA to terrorist attacks all over the country and impending WWIII. The writers have painted themselves into a corner on how to top anything they did on previous seasons. I enjoyed most of the seasons, but I think the writers should have stuck with smaller scale storylines. I do agree that they did the same thing with killing off characters. It started with killing off peripheral characters (Mason, Chappelle) to killing off central characters two at a clip (President Palmer and Michelle Dessler).

    by skimn

how can this? And I triple the nomination for a Burn Notice TB. The only gripe I have with the show is for a guy who's had his funds frozen, he sure can afford a lot of cell phones and crap to McGuyver up.

Oh, they had a Doctor Who Talkback months ago...

    by tonagan

When it was airing in the UK, spoiling it for the rest of us who wouldn't "officially" get it until now. Sure, there's the bitternet the kids all use but, heck, I watch my TV the old-fashioned way, with tons of commercials crammed in at the most inopportune times. And yes, I know the big reveal from this season's Dr. Who already, so you can't spoil that for me again. Dagnabbit. I'm old. And cranky.

    by tonagan

It would have been pretty cool to be surprised, but I'm guessing the Sci-Fi channel would have mucked it up anyway, like last season's finale - "Hey everybody, next on Doctor Who, the Daleks are back!" Idiots.
