Miss the INDY IV panel at Comic Con? Never fear - YouTube Is Here!
SPOILER ALERT !!
Hey folks, Harry here - On my way up to Crater Lake to find the Crater Lake Monster, before heading to Brownsville, Oregon for the STAND BY ME screening of the Rolling Roadshow... Meanwhile, as usual - not being at Comic Con and seeing these Quint reports are driving me nuts. But thank god for YOUTUBE and in this case, G4, for being Johnny on the Spot - and recording the live telecast with Spielberg and crew. Cuz now, I can present the whole thing to you. Here ya go...

Spielberg and his marketing team is out for blood! Allen looks great, and Ford will not say HE'S TOO OLD FOR THIS SHIT!
-
AND IT IS SO GOT DAMN HOT! What's the best rides?
-
When the clip was finished I realised that I'd had huge shit-eating geek-grin on my face the whole time.

Head there before taking a peak at the bad quality youtube link -
I also had a terminal case of nerd-joy throughout the clip and watched the part where they brought out Allen three times. I had a lot of reservations about this movie but... yeah with Allen in it changes everything and makes the entire project swing back into "Impending Avalanche of Awesome" status.

-
Look folks...I'll believe this is quality when I see it with my own eyes.
And I still wanna know where the FUCK SALLAH IS! If MArion is back she's gonna want to know where the fucker is because from Indy I it is obvious that Sallah is a big part of Indys life. -
Call me naive, but that's all I needed to hear.
-
is REALLY trying to calm fears about this film? It's as though he is saying.."Look..I know George FUCKED YOU UP THE ASS, and never gave a shit about what YOU wanted from his product; But I won't make that mistake."
Hope it's true or we might just end up with an Indiana "Nooooo" moment. -
We have The Dark Knight. We have Iron Man. We have Indiana Jones and the Search for More Money. We have The Incredible Hulk. We have The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. We have Speed Racer. We have Hellboy 2. And that doesn't even count the winter when we get Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price, James Bond 22, and freaking Star Trek (no numbers or titles... just STAR TREK!!!). 2008 is going to rule our lives like no other fucking movie year!
-
... Spielberg told us they weres making Transformers for us, the fan, too. And he sure has shit delivered on that promise as the producer of that film, didn't he? Trust the man. He's NOT a hack like Lucas has become. He's an auteur (Munich, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan). He's a film maker (E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark, Catch Me if You Can). He makes pictures (Jaws, Jurassic Park, Minority Report) . He's three different kinds of directors, and he's fabulous at all three kinds. He can make important masterpieces. He can make great films. He can make popcorn movies. He can do it all. He is the exact OPPOSITE of Lucas. Trust in Spielberg. I trust him.

Karen Allen nominated for the 2007 GILF awards!
by themanwithtoomanynames
It's either her or the tasty Michelle Pfeiffer (have you seen Pfeiffer on the latest cover of Screen Weekly. Ooh, grandMA!).
Perhaps, Spielberg could get Pfeiffer to star in the new Indiana Jones movie. Pfeiffer could play a love rival to Allen, and they could have a sexy fight scene together (like the one those two chicks had in the shitty Mummy Returns movie).
Come on, people! We need some hot GILF on GILF action.
Say it with me: "GILF on GILF! GILF on GILF!" -
OK seriously I'm not going to read any more about Indy IV because this is such a primal pleasure for me to see Spielberg back with Harrison Ford and Karen Allen. Raiders of the Lost Ark was such a defining movie moment of my childhood and I will gladly wait to watch Marion and Indy together again! SO AWESOME SO AWESOME SO AWESOME!!!! For those of you who were born after these movies were at the theatres, think about your favorite movie so far and think about them making another installment when you're an adult. The magic!
-
Full of big ideas and themes, but no talent for those little details such as PLOT or WRITTING that make a movie more than just a series of random shots.
Star Wars...his WIFE kept him in check.
Empire...He stayed away from it..hence it was the best of the bunch.
Jedi...Lucas returns, we get Fuckin EWOKS.
Prequels...I think thats been talked to death with many a teary eye and broken heart.
Lucas should supply ideas to Spielberg, he is briiliant at that..but for FUCKS SAKE keep him away from the directors chair and FAR AWAY from the script. -
You are so fucking right man!! 2008 is going to kick ass!!!
-
It's great to see everyone back again all these years later. I hope Spielberg can pull it off, the hopes will be high on this one.
Conspiracy: So true about Lucas. What a great mythology he created in Star Wars, but man, is he ham-fisted with dialogue. -
a subpar version of something that is on the official indy site? no, aicn would never link it...
-
... I appreciate your ability to lay the verbal smack down on some fools who want to tussel. Thanks for getting my back, homey. Yes, Lawrence Kasdan gets absolutely NO credit for Raiders of the Lost Ark OR The Empire Strikes Back, and it's not fair. Lucas gets the credit for the best two films he was every involved in, but if you read the credits, it's always: Story by George Lucas, WRITTEN or SCREENPLAY by Lawrence Kasdan. Lawrence Kasdan was the man. Georgia Lucas is the dreamer, the man with the BIG idea. But he can't write dialogue or direct to save his mother fucking life! "I am... truly... deeply... in love... with you." Oh my GOD, I think I just threw up a little in my mouth again.
-
Indy!
-
Was it just me? I didn't get a good vibe from the cast or Spielberg himself during that.
It looked like Harrison forgot Ray's name, for example.
And any sort of minor excitement Harrison or Steven seemed to have was... insincere. At least to my eyes.
I didn't have doubts before, ironically enough. But having seen this, now I do.
Was it just me? Anyone else? -
Indy 4, Dark Knight, Bond 22 and Star Trek. God, I hope I don't die before those are released!! This Indy could be real fun. I just hope the 'pain in the neck' from Transformers doesn't screw it up again. Ray Winston will be good though, as will be Allen, Blanchett and Hurt. I also have faith in Ford... but the kid...not so much.
-
Female leads don't need to be 18 and size zero! I hope she is a lead anyway...
-
Look, guys, he's done nothing to lose our trust. Could Indy IV turn into Episodes 1 or 2? Yes, it very well could. Could Indy IV be 1941 or God help us, Hook? Yes it could. But Spielberg hits on 95% pf the films he makes. And even when he misses (Amistad, The Lost World, and Always) the movies are still pretty good. Trust the man. He would not have done this movie if he didn't KNOW that it was going to be good. He's had his Lincoln biopic in the schute for YEARS!!! Liam Niesen has been waiting forever. He would not have postponed Lincoln and made Liam Niesen wait if he didn't KNOW Indy IV was going to be the balls. TRUST HIM!!!
-
This same video is IndianaJones.com and it is in a much higher quality. It looks like Lucasfilm will be maintaining a really nice website leading up to the release of the film next Memorial Day.
-
AND ANOTHER COMIC CON VIDEO TOO.
-
like previous people have said i guess.....seriously though, im surprised at how much were getting from the official site....
-
Harrison looks like he's having trouble with his motor skills seemed very slow
-
Oh yeah, baby!!
-
Harrison hates interviews and being on live tv. he has always said he is uncomfortable doing them.
-
I'd much rather see cool, studio sanctioned stuff like we got with the Indiana Jones web site vs the grainy, telephoto lens stuff from TDK shot from two football fields away. I was fortunate enough to see "Raiders" on the big screen at a sneak peak about one week before the national release. One of the great things about it: There was no "buzz" as I recall. I had no expectations. It totally blew me away and remains my favorite film.
Saw it again last night. You know the beginning where Indy takes the Hovito dart from the tree? HF had the same paunch back then. -
I just did a quick check on what's coming next year and HOLY SHIT....I'm never gonna be away from the cinema....check this list out and what are you guys most looking forward to?? I think I gotta say BATMAN and right now INDY is close behind, fuck they know how to hype us!!

Hellboy 2 - Aug 1st

-
Lets hope that she doesn't get "Brodied" or "Sallahed" in this one.
BTW, the youetube version looks the quality of an old "Honeymooners" episode. -
.....we would have NO Star Wars or Indiana Jones. He may be an idea man, but his ideas gave birth to film history. He deserves all his credits, BIG TIME!!!
-
stance Ford gives. It may not be his favorite thing to do (answering the same question hundreds of times is an exersise in tedium) but he's an actor. Act! He's paid ridiculous sums of money to play parts, you would think he could suck it up a bit on the stuff he dosen't dig.
-
... had to say it... come on, the guy is stoned out of his mind!
-
Indy spent too much time at the Raven...
-
bless his heart
-
... I'm not saying don't give Lucas credit for his awesome ideas. Give him the credit he deserves, but don't give him the credit others deserve: specifically, Lawrence Kasden. And also, realize that Lucas is an idea man, but crap at actually writing screenplays and directing actors. I really think that Lucas should devote his future films to CGI Animation. He sucks at directing actors. But he'd be in his element. I think he'd be just as good as Brad Bird BECAUSE of his great imagination that makes him a great idea guy. But as a director and screenwriter? Nope. Sucks.
-
On the crate on the main page of the offical site(indianajones.com) the number 9906573 is written. If you insert this number as a URL (adding.com to the end)you get the wikipedia page for the ark of the covenant.....hmmm....maybe the ark is a about to make a reappearence after all..... or perhaps I'm looking for clues in everything since cloverfield/Dark Knight campaigns!!
-
He should have been the story man and people who can actually make movies should have been in the writer and director positions. Say what you like about David Koepp but he's definitely better than Lucas at scripting. So is Jeff Nathanson (even though he fucking wrote Speed 2, but that was a while ago, give the guy a break...) and some of Frank Darabont's ideas are in here too so we should be in for something that's good at the least.
-
... lay off the pipe, Transformers wasn't awful. A solid "B" in my book. Definately the best work Bay has ever done. Were there things that didn't work? Of course, that's why it isn't a great movie, merely just a good movie. And there is nothing wrong with being a good movie. The first X-Men and Spider-Man films were good movies. Star Trek VI: TUC was a good movie. Talladega Nights: TBoRB was a good movie. See... nothing wrong with being a good movie.
-
I know it's been speculated, but has there been any solid 'clues' like this one? And has this one in particular been spotted by anyone else?
-
This is awesome!
-
Yo! I think that you are absolutely right about the the link being a solid clue, because when you punch in 9906573.com , the linkbutton you get to the Ark of the Covenant on wikipedia is 52208 which is the premiere date for the new film. Great find btw. :D
-
and also thank you for the date bit.....didn't get that as we reverse our dates here in blighty! Wow... did I just get my first ever 'Scoop' on AICN? thats my day made!!! And rasberries to Krack for trying to make me feel small!!!
-
Jesus.... I mean can't you let me have at least 10 mins of glory!!! I couldn't find it on another thread *sigh* oh well....at least I'm looking, not just sitting here waiting to piss on others ideas.
-
WOW....SPEECHLESS
-
Just checked back through yesterdays thread....some mention of the numbers being a possible typo, but none of the link to wikipedia so I'm still going to claim credit. And Krak.....why are you trying so hard to disprove it? Bitter and twisted 'cos you never actually discovered something for yourself and can only revel in other peoples glory I reckon!!
-
Now that's respect.
-
Recently all G4 clips were taken down from Youtube. I had a whole bunch. Like Olivia Munn in the Slave Costume. They were all removed. So it can't be long before this clip goes down.
-
I know I said that the premiere date is 22/05 2008, but the official site says it's on memorial day which is 26/05 2008, oh well seems my memory is failing :D
-
a) give me a link to where this was discussed yesterday.
b) even if it's not 'officially' sanctioned by Spielberg it's still pretty frickin' cool.
c) I'm just having a laugh. you're the jackass who seems to be getting all hot and bothered about it! -
This is the biggest piece of fangoo that has ever ocurred on this godforsaken planet and I, for one, now have, after having seen this video, one of the most rigid, stiff, and discernibly turgid fanboy TH's (Terminal Hardon) that I have ever had in my entire life. Could this have been any better? Only if Karen Allen had been nude.
-
If this steals more money like War of the Worlds did then I will be so pissed. I hope TDK beats this out because BB was beaten by War and that just frustrated me to no end.
-
The only thing I see there is speculation..... no-one actually states the link ....as I said earlier. I too have been aware of the speculation for months, but for now I still claim the discovery of the 9906573.com link.
If someone else did I will appologise to them personally. You however are deffinately what we Brits call a 'wanker'. -
At this time yesterday Indy collectr wrote "The crate # on IndianaJones.com is wrong. The number is supposed to be 9906753. On the Web site the 5 and 7 are switched. I'm guessing it's a typo and not some secret marketing thing." Right...Krak now explain why I'm a jackass for revealing to the world the majestic information that 9906573.com links to a wikipedia entry that relates to the Ark of the Covenant? Explain too me how this means that I'm 24 hrs behind everyone else.... and explain to me how you managed to suck all the fun out of this.
-
I still found the link without being told about it in the talkbacks....so I can still go to bed (its 3.27am here in the uk) satisfied..... nos da everyone.....
-
Jul 28, 2007 9:32:37 PM CDT
Hands up if anyone else thinks the link is pretty cool
by cymraeg_cowboy
......even if it's not offical. And yes thats my big "scoop".... hey ....it might not be earth shattering, but its a fun connection nevertheless...... what exactly have you brought to the talkbacks recently..... appart from negativity?
-
secrets of the rebellion (that star wars film) and futurama!
-
uh...this "on the road" posting of harry is really funny. seriously funny. in a cute way. meanwhile it's not only up on the G4 website but also the official site...LOL... whatever I'm drunk and it feels good to come home at night, knowing that somewhere these inspiring people do another one of those films. I'm already looking forward to the TB in two weeks, which will be about the NEW preview video on the official site. see you then. I love you all. And...as always sorry for your screwed up language..

I mean, did you see her in The Perfect Storm? That was how many years ago?
Anyway, I'm all for it! -
ok if that doesn't stink, i dont know what does. has the blog world necessitated this type of needless hype? since when does harrison ford do this? why is he so adamant in gushing over how good the film is? why do we need to be sold every single week about this movie? what the hell is happening here man?
-
Kick ass
-
http://tinyurl.com/27avvl wonder how much of her is still real.
-
Raven-WOULD until the neighbours complained about the smell.
-
I so look forward to this...
Consider me there, already! -
Ever since I first saw Raiders of the Lost Ark, I knew there was only one woman for Indy. I know most of you out there always had Leia in her slave suit as the perfect woman, but for me, it was Marion. If he can get her, then maybe I can too. I missed you Karen, and Marion will always be the perfect woman for me. Here come's 2008.. or 2009.. or whatever.
-
but 2008..... Waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh !! Its gonna be off the hook. there's an old one for you.
-
yeah, I just had one. OMG!!!one!!!Lolone!!11w00t!!one!
-
Just checked out the interview footage of him over at Latino Review, in which he's briefly talking about Indy IV aaaand especially Marion Ravenwood. I love how he seems to unleash all of his difficult emotions when asked about his involvement and Allen's return is brought up, by looking right into the camera just to make sure that we really get it. Great stuff. And what a cool person! Kneel down before DARABONT!!!!! After all of yesterday's gushing about Marion's comeback he really deserves some extra portion of TB love.
-
I was thinking about it. . .what movies are today's generation of kids watching that serves as a defining movie moment in their lives? Movies that just make them completely geek out? I had Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc. What do they have?
-
When Spielberg jokes around at the start, and 'mouths' the title of the movie - he says "Indiana Jones and the .......... Abraham"
-
what i meant was "(something something) Abraham"
-
I dont think I've seen a clip on AICN that has made me smile more. I have smile-ache. Spielberg, you gave me smile-ache.
-
He can fuck my girl and kill my cat if he wants. The guy is the best director alive.
-
Strange that Marion is brought back after all these years, and Shia is a young man now...
-
There's nothing about Indy IV or Karen Allen on that web page. It's about some new web-comic that shares your TB name. What a coincidence! Shame on you!!
-
can't wait.
-
looks like a wonderful kiss off to my youth for when I turn 30. A new Indy film along with Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Bond 22, Hellboy 2...yikes. Bring it on!
-
..this film. He's just making it for a fat paycheck....oh yeah.. and for "all of us"..lol..
-
its so typical of this site to be bragging about finding a youtube clip when the real thing was somewhere else - in this case the official damn site - a day earlier. way to go harry.
-
No shame in it either. I know as soon as I hear that music in the theater it will bring some tears to my eyes because of the nostalgia alone.
-
Here are some movies of this generation that I can think of off the top of my head...
-Spiderman series
-X-men series
-Pirates series
-I'm going to go out on a limb and say the "Transformers Series".
-Batman Begins and on series
-Lord of the Rings
These were all very cool movies and I dare say that they have had as much an impact on today's generation as mine had with Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and etc. -
check that out for a sweet Indy 4 parody....
-
Who shoot these "interviews"??
You see better television camera work in wedding videos! -
Karen Allen is incredible. Apparently, they're actually listening to the fans. How cool was that? This movie is going to be *so* much better with her in it.
Okay, enough fanboy raving. Had to get it out of my system. -
"...mark...my...words..."
-
...Meh, probably will be watchable. I guess the series became about how loners form families. Meh. I guess that's cool, I...guess.
-
... isn't Cameron's Battle Angel also coming out then too.
-
What a bummer!
-
possible second ark under etheopia.
