I also had a terminal case of nerd-joy throughout the clip and watched the part where they brought out Allen three times. I had a lot of reservations about this movie but... yeah with Allen in it changes everything and makes the entire project swing back into "Impending Avalanche of Awesome" status.

    by expert40

We have The Dark Knight. We have Iron Man. We have Indiana Jones and the Search for More Money. We have The Incredible Hulk. We have The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. We have Speed Racer. We have Hellboy 2. And that doesn't even count the winter when we get Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price, James Bond 22, and freaking Star Trek (no numbers or titles... just STAR TREK!!!). 2008 is going to rule our lives like no other fucking movie year!

... Spielberg told us they weres making Transformers for us, the fan, too. And he sure has shit delivered on that promise as the producer of that film, didn't he? Trust the man. He's NOT a hack like Lucas has become. He's an auteur (Munich, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan). He's a film maker (E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark, Catch Me if You Can). He makes pictures (Jaws, Jurassic Park, Minority Report) . He's three different kinds of directors, and he's fabulous at all three kinds. He can make important masterpieces. He can make great films. He can make popcorn movies. He can do it all. He is the exact OPPOSITE of Lucas. Trust in Spielberg. I trust him.

Karen Allen nominated for the 2007 GILF awards!

    by themanwithtoomanynames

It's either her or the tasty Michelle Pfeiffer (have you seen Pfeiffer on the latest cover of Screen Weekly. Ooh, grandMA!).

Perhaps, Spielberg could get Pfeiffer to star in the new Indiana Jones movie. Pfeiffer could play a love rival to Allen, and they could have a sexy fight scene together (like the one those two chicks had in the shitty Mummy Returns movie).

Come on, people! We need some hot GILF on GILF action.

Say it with me: "GILF on GILF! GILF on GILF!"

OK seriously I'm not going to read any more about Indy IV because this is such a primal pleasure for me to see Spielberg back with Harrison Ford and Karen Allen. Raiders of the Lost Ark was such a defining movie moment of my childhood and I will gladly wait to watch Marion and Indy together again! SO AWESOME SO AWESOME SO AWESOME!!!! For those of you who were born after these movies were at the theatres, think about your favorite movie so far and think about them making another installment when you're an adult. The magic!

Impulse..Lucas is an idea man..thats it.

    by conspiracy

Full of big ideas and themes, but no talent for those little details such as PLOT or WRITTING that make a movie more than just a series of random shots.

Star Wars...his WIFE kept him in check.
Empire...He stayed away from it..hence it was the best of the bunch.
Jedi...Lucas returns, we get Fuckin EWOKS.

Prequels...I think thats been talked to death with many a teary eye and broken heart.

Lucas should supply ideas to Spielberg, he is briiliant at that..but for FUCKS SAKE keep him away from the directors chair and FAR AWAY from the script.

... I appreciate your ability to lay the verbal smack down on some fools who want to tussel. Thanks for getting my back, homey. Yes, Lawrence Kasdan gets absolutely NO credit for Raiders of the Lost Ark OR The Empire Strikes Back, and it's not fair. Lucas gets the credit for the best two films he was every involved in, but if you read the credits, it's always: Story by George Lucas, WRITTEN or SCREENPLAY by Lawrence Kasdan. Lawrence Kasdan was the man. Georgia Lucas is the dreamer, the man with the BIG idea. But he can't write dialogue or direct to save his mother fucking life! "I am... truly... deeply... in love... with you." Oh my GOD, I think I just threw up a little in my mouth again.

Was it just me? I didn't get a good vibe from the cast or Spielberg himself during that.

It looked like Harrison forgot Ray's name, for example.

And any sort of minor excitement Harrison or Steven seemed to have was... insincere. At least to my eyes.

Look, guys, he's done nothing to lose our trust. Could Indy IV turn into Episodes 1 or 2? Yes, it very well could. Could Indy IV be 1941 or God help us, Hook? Yes it could. But Spielberg hits on 95% pf the films he makes. And even when he misses (Amistad, The Lost World, and Always) the movies are still pretty good. Trust the man. He would not have done this movie if he didn't KNOW that it was going to be good. He's had his Lincoln biopic in the schute for YEARS!!! Liam Niesen has been waiting forever. He would not have postponed Lincoln and made Liam Niesen wait if he didn't KNOW Indy IV was going to be the balls. TRUST HIM!!!

The first Indy film since we got the web.

    by m.dung

I'd much rather see cool, studio sanctioned stuff like we got with the Indiana Jones web site vs the grainy, telephoto lens stuff from TDK shot from two football fields away. I was fortunate enough to see "Raiders" on the big screen at a sneak peak about one week before the national release. One of the great things about it: There was no "buzz" as I recall. I had no expectations. It totally blew me away and remains my favorite film.
Saw it again last night. You know the beginning where Indy takes the Hovito dart from the tree? HF had the same paunch back then.

... I'm not saying don't give Lucas credit for his awesome ideas. Give him the credit he deserves, but don't give him the credit others deserve: specifically, Lawrence Kasden. And also, realize that Lucas is an idea man, but crap at actually writing screenplays and directing actors. I really think that Lucas should devote his future films to CGI Animation. He sucks at directing actors. But he'd be in his element. I think he'd be just as good as Brad Bird BECAUSE of his great imagination that makes him a great idea guy. But as a director and screenwriter? Nope. Sucks.

Lucas's role in the prequels should have been this

    by performingmonkey

He should have been the story man and people who can actually make movies should have been in the writer and director positions. Say what you like about David Koepp but he's definitely better than Lucas at scripting. So is Jeff Nathanson (even though he fucking wrote Speed 2, but that was a while ago, give the guy a break...) and some of Frank Darabont's ideas are in here too so we should be in for something that's good at the least.

... lay off the pipe, Transformers wasn't awful. A solid "B" in my book. Definately the best work Bay has ever done. Were there things that didn't work? Of course, that's why it isn't a great movie, merely just a good movie. And there is nothing wrong with being a good movie. The first X-Men and Spider-Man films were good movies. Star Trek VI: TUC was a good movie. Talladega Nights: TBoRB was a good movie. See... nothing wrong with being a good movie.

    I knew it!!!

    by abulafia24

Ever since I first saw Raiders of the Lost Ark, I knew there was only one woman for Indy. I know most of you out there always had Leia in her slave suit as the perfect woman, but for me, it was Marion. If he can get her, then maybe I can too. I missed you Karen, and Marion will always be the perfect woman for me. Here come's 2008.. or 2009.. or whatever.

Let's all give thanks to Frank Darabont

    by alliejamison

Just checked out the interview footage of him over at Latino Review, in which he's briefly talking about Indy IV aaaand especially Marion Ravenwood. I love how he seems to unleash all of his difficult emotions when asked about his involvement and Allen's return is brought up, by looking right into the camera just to make sure that we really get it. Great stuff. And what a cool person! Kneel down before DARABONT!!!!! After all of yesterday's gushing about Marion's comeback he really deserves some extra portion of TB love.

What movies have had an impact as much as these?

    by heyscot

I was thinking about it. . .what movies are today's generation of kids watching that serves as a defining movie moment in their lives? Movies that just make them completely geek out? I had Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc. What do they have?

When Spielberg jokes around at the start, and 'mouths' the title of the movie - he says "Indiana Jones and the .......... Abraham"

There's nothing about Indy IV or Karen Allen on that web page. It's about some new web-comic that shares your TB name. What a coincidence! Shame on you!!

its so typical of this site to be bragging about finding a youtube clip when the real thing was somewhere else - in this case the official damn site - a day earlier. way to go harry.

No shame in it either. I know as soon as I hear that music in the theater it will bring some tears to my eyes because of the nostalgia alone.

    heyscot...

    by vezner2007

Here are some movies of this generation that I can think of off the top of my head...
    -Spiderman series
    -X-men series
    -Pirates series
-I'm going to go out on a limb and say the "Transformers Series".
    -Batman Begins and on series
    -Lord of the Rings

These were all very cool movies and I dare say that they have had as much an impact on today's generation as mine had with Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and etc.

Karen Allen is incredible. Apparently, they're actually listening to the fans. How cool was that? This movie is going to be *so* much better with her in it.

Okay, enough fanboy raving. Had to get it out of my system.
