Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. talk IRON MAN in order to sell DINNER FOR FIVE DVDs!!!

Published at:  Jul 19, 2007 3:33:21 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here.

They're now selling all 4 seasons of Jon Favreau's awesome IFC series DINNER FOR FIVE at Amazon.com for just over $10 a season... $41.99 for the set. If you haven't seen it, you owe yourself a viewing. Each episode has Favreau and four industry friends eating at a different restaurant around LA and they talk about any and everything. It's totally informal, totally uncensored and more often than not funny as all hell.

But, believe it or not, this isn't an ad for the DVDs (okay, just a little, but I seriously love this show and miss it). However, Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. shot a near 6 minute conversation that copied the structure of the show where they just bullshit about movies and previous work. Here Downey talks about working on CHAPLIN, WEIRD SCIENCE and what the final day of shooting was like on IRON MAN... apparently it was Caesar's Palace in Vegas.

CLICK HERE TO VISIT AMAZON AND SCROLL DOWN A TAD TO WATCH THE VIDEO!!!

Thanks to "Adam" for sending the link.

I'm doing my best to set up chats with some IRON MAN peeps at Comic-Con next week and it's looking promising. So, keep an eye on the site for more IRON MAN goodies once the big CC rolls around.

I know Mandarin was IM's central foe, but its 2007 and the character has not aged well. I wish they'd have taken another road, such as using The Ghost, Whirlwind or Grey Gargoyle.

    by spandau belly

Why do people keep hiring this liability to be in movies? I mean, he's a good enough actor, but the odds of him dying or going back to jail or rehad during the shoot seems like a headache I would not want.

$10 an EPISODE? Whats up with AMAZON?

    by sideshowrob

Checked Amazon's Website, In addition they're selling Individual DFF eps for $10 a piece! Is this Correct? You get all 4 Seasons for about $1 an episode in the Complete Set! Thats a No Brainer. In reality, as much as I dug the series, only one outta maybe 3 or 4 eps was memorable & worth a repeat viewing. Give its Conversation format, A BEST of Series like the recent Larry Shandling set woulda been a better set and kept the price down to $20-$25.

    Done Filming

    by munro kelly

Shooting started around mid March and wraping around mid July. That's about a four month shoot, which is more than enough to get something like this in the can. Hollywood productions shoot for an average of two pages a day. A three month shoot, 60 days, is 120 pages. Each page is roughly one minute, giving us roughly 120 minutes. Of course, it varies per film. Iron Man also had a second unit going, to speed it along. The Dark Knight is not using a second unit, that's part of the reason why they are taking longer. Most of the time needed, to get Iron Man ready for 08, is going to be used by ILM in post.

Robert still sounds/looks like he's on the right path, and I love how supportive of each other they are without sounding like pretentious asses. May not have been an ad, but for that price, I think I'm gonna buy the DVDs. Damn you Quint!

Wolverine to be shot this Nov. for a 2008 release

    by future help

    News
    Gavin Hood to Direct Wolverine!
    Source: Variety July 20, 2007

20th Century Fox has set Gavin Hood to direct Hugh Jackman in Wolverine, the "X-Men" spinoff that was written by David Benioff.

The film, which begins production in November for a 2008 release, will be produced by Lauren Shuler-Donner, Jackman and his Seed Productions partner John Palermo.

Hood is the South African director whose 2005 film Tsotsi won the foreign film Oscar. His next film, the thriller Rendition with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, opens on October 12.

Using several resources that include the Marvel Comics lore, along with the more recent Weapon X graphic novels by Frank Miller, Wolverine mixes action with an origin story about how Logan emerged from a barbaric experiment as an indestructible mutant with retractable razor-sharp claws.

After three "X-Men" films grossed over $1 billion worldwide, the studio has made Wolverine a top priority.

"I have long been a fan of Gavin's work and know he will make a masterful film with the character intensity and action beats the fans expect," said Jackman.
