UPDATE!! From SyFy Portal:
SciFi Channel announced that "Razor," which will be made available on DVD a short time later, will air on the network Nov. 24. The shorts, written by Michael Taylor and directed by Wayne Rose and Felix Alcala, apparently were part of the original script that were cut because of time from the final movie, a source tells SyFy Portal. First time being first.

A guy at Sci-Fi told me they were going to be doing these. He also said they've gotten rough cuts in for the new season and that it's awesome. He said hold onto your seats cuz it's total craziness. (He was being honest and not just saying it cuz he works at Sci-fi)
-
Sci Fi seems to love those webisodes. Wasn't there a dispute between the producers and Sci Fi over money on these things though?
-
I can see Battlestar Galactica turning into another Star Trek pretty quick...
Cash grab! -
That is all.
-
... it sounds good to me. The New Caprica webisodes were definitely worthwhile and they helped set the stage for the beginning of Season 3. So, if the quality is the same, I say make it so. Err, I mean stand by FTL!
-
the early cylon models included a stylishly super-slim mobile phone.
-
When the hell do the webisodes hit the .....web?
-
I almost certainly won't be able to (legally) watch the webisodes in this country, as with 'The Resistance', but since they're going to be edited into Razor in kind of a reverse deleted scenes sort of manner, I'm happy to wait for the DVD.
-
Budget cuts, you know.
-
Quick, I say!
-
I will give it a shot.
-
What about the shorts of Starbuck as a CoEd?
-
If they are releasing the razor episodes as a standalone then I wonder if they also plan to include them on the eventual season 4 dvd? They are officially part of season 4's 22 episodes, so it might be possible that if you buy the razor dvd in November then you'll be buying the same episodes again later on.
-
Better calling plans available.
-
Kindergarten Galactica uh uh uh uh.
-
Hmm? I haven't bought any of the seasons yet because I want to watch it in eye-melting high-definition. NBC Universal better get off their collective asses and make this happen sooner rather than later.
-
Everyone, anyone can be a Cylon with no continuity, logic or hints that they have always been Cylons+AATW=FTL Shark Jump.
-
The last episode with the big reveal came about as close to this series jumping the shark for me as it ever did. But I still have some faith left in the writers that it will all make sense by the end of the last season. True that last episode definitely made you go "WTF?", but there have been many many more that had you going "Hell yeah!". It hasn't jumped the shark yet, but that last episode was almost like them moving the ramp into position.
-
The others not so much, but I think it's an absolutely fantastic character move for Tigh. One of the best characters in the series, and just when he might have run out of interesting material, bam, the most single-minded character on the show finds he doesn't know a single damn thing about himself, except that he's going to do his duty no matter what. What a way to pull through in what has to be the lowest ebb of his lifetim of low ebbs.
-
it's going to be called Galactica 2010 silly.
-
scarring acne Cylons.
I'll watch the show out to see if they can overcome my initial reaction, but I agree an awful lot with what USS Cygnus says. Moore as much as acknowledged that the identity of the final five (at least the four revealed) were only determined relatively late in the game - in the midst of season three! Seems to me that they could have been anyone applying the "fundamentally different" concept as a sloppy solution to explain any prior inconsistencies. Putting aside Tori, who we practically knew nothing about, and maybe Anders, everything we were previously told about Cylons practically ruled out Tyrol and Tigh. Tigh's aging and service in the first Cylon War means nothing. Tyrol's known childhood (parents were priests) and fathering of a child, also non-factors. So instead of twelve Cylon models, we have seven of one kind and five of another (SPOILER ALERT: who apparently are remnants from a prior cycle of the human/Cylon conflict, and akin to Cylon gods. END SPOILER). Never mind the intermingled, random numbering scheme. Color me somewhat disappointed that such an important element of the show's overall mythology wasn't better thought out.

Man that moment just blew me away. Can't think of anything else except for maybe Locke kicking Patchy's ass as being as cool. BSG is damn fine product.
-
Sounds like the premise of the miniseries and the first season to me.So did they jump the shark right when the show launched?
-
oh, come on. We all knew there were more of the Galactica crew waiting to be revealed as Cylons. How is Tyrol any different from Boomer? Both had memories of childhood. And both had kids with humans they were in love with. That's hardly a massive continuity breaker, on par with, say, Baltar
turning out to be a hallucination that only Roslin can see, or the past three seasons being Adama's dream. As for Tigh, yeah the ageing thing is a surprise and i'm curious to see how the Final Five models fit into the overall scheme. But where was it written that those Five had to follow the same rules as the other human models. And, at the end of the day, isn't it kind of lazy to rely on "everything we were previously told about Cylons" as the basis for all future plot developments?
Hey, here's a goofy thought: what if the Fifth Cylon is Galactica itself? And it talks to the crew and shares its thoughts and feelings, using exactly the same computer voice as Dr Theopolis in Buck Rogers and the 25th Century? Now that would be a real gamechanger! Or maybe it would just be kinda stupid. -
some fopish cylons like Lucifer,
with a morphed Jonathan Harris voice. -
Boomer was supposedly an orphan and one of the few survivors of a disaster (I think it was a mining accident or something as best as I can recall) that wiped out her family and entire outpost. Thus, no one could ever verify her early years. Also, when Athena had her baby, Hera, it was a previously unheard of event. Not only did the Cylons consciously obsess over it, Hera become the focus of Cylon and human visions alike. D'Anna, Baltar (with Six in his head) and Roslin all had visions/dreams involving Hera, indicating her importance to both races. (Note: since only one Cylon remains to be revealed, Baltar and Roslin can't both be Cylons, and neither may end up being one).
As for Tyrol, he has been in the service since eighteen, including several years under Bill Adama, and he has clearly aged over that time. While his memories of his parents could be a cover story, there is no disaster or other explanation that would account for a fully developed Tyrol popping up without someone noticing. And when Nicholas Tyrol was born, nobody had any visions about him, including the kamala extract doped up Roslin.
Anything devastating to continuity there? Nothing overwhelming, I guess. Making the Chief a Cylon is not like fitting a square peg into a round hole, but maybe more like an oval peg into that round hole. Combined with the Tigh revelation, however, the annoyance level for myself, and many others, on this issue clearly is magnified.
As I pointed out before, the real problem is that the significance of who is a Cylon has been rendered moot by the admission that they came up with the last four at the eleventh hour. And retrofitting characters into such roles after 3 years with the mere explanation that "they're different" feels like a cop out. There is nothing lazy about being consistent and sticking to what has been established as canon over the prior seasons. As it is, this fundamental difference thing has the feel of a mid-course change of direction that has left me and many others miffed. -
i think any of the cylons can age - we will see that boomer had a past life - and aged.
but the question is - are they always "renewed" at the age they died?
-
...we're all Cylons. Wouldn't you like to be a Cylon too?
And if BSG hasn't FTL Jumped the Shark as of the Season 3 finale, then here's looking forward to the Season 4 premiere in 2008. Perhaps Starbuck will sing us a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "You Got Me Floatin'" from inside her cockpit.
