Look, I’m not going to rail on Rob Zombie for his remake. I think it’s one of those no-win games that people get into... they make their mind up about something and dig in and invest energy in tearing something down before it’s done. I agree with Quint that the script for the remake was less than inspiring, but I’ve liked Zombie’s films so far, and I’ll give this one a shot. I have very strong feelings about the original, so it’ll be hard for me to set those aside, and a news story over at Bloody-Disgusting didn’t make me feel any better about the movie. Still... I’m sure I’ll be sitting in a theater in August, hoping for the best, and now we’ve got a few more details about what to expect:

”Some crazy new Intel came into B-D this morning as we've been informed that Rob Zombie has been hard at work filming new material for his remake of HALLOWEEN, which is slated for release on August 31. Today ended seven straight days of grueling filming around the Los Angeles area, which included the addition of six, count 'em, six new death sequences! The film has been given a serious boost in violence, gore and bloodshed... but that's not the big news - we received word that an entire new finale has been shot. Details are mum on what is different, but we're told the new ending is quite gruesome!!”
