Information on a Sequel project to LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, plus a title for Mike Leigh's Untitled project!

Published at:  Mar 26, 1999 12:10:08 PM CST

If you haven't gotten out and seen this movie yet... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING YOU WANKER!?!?!?!?!?! Anyways... For all us die hard followers of the cool flick LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS... well, this is some cool news indeed. And the bit about Mike Leigh's film is one for the serious film buffs out there.... I see ya!

I was interviewing Vas Blackwood and Dexter Fletcher (from Lock, Stock
and 2 Smoking...) the other day and I got a couple of interesting
tit-bits. Vas (Rory Breaker) will definitely be in it with it whilst
Vinnie (Big Chris) Jones will be playing twins. It's a heist movie which
will feature 'new lines for the street'

Dexter, on the other hand, revealed the title of his next movie has
changed from Mike Leigh: Untitled to 'Topsy Turvy'. He told me that that
was something of an exclusive.

The full interview should appear soon www.uclan.ac.uk/pluto.htm

    AWAY & DON'T TALK SHITE!!!

LS&2SB was without a doubt one of the best movies of 1998.

And it was definitely the best British Film of 1998.

And it was certainly better than a lot of the american pish I had to sit through last year.

    Say butt?

I enjoyed LS&2B (in fact, I just got back from seeing it), but this news was a little confusing. Didn't Rory Baker die? Why would he be in a sequel? What the hell does Big Chris having a twin have to do with anything? Does this movie really need a sequel? I'd prefer to have that last shot of Tom on the bridge be the last image of these characters, it was perfect.

What this story is REALLY about

    by martin q blank

Harry, today was a great update but please get your facts straight. This isn't referring to a sequel to Lock Stock, rather the new film by the same group of people. Last I heard it was called 'Diamonds.' The idea is a follow-up in the Fish Called Wanda/Fierce Creatures mold, i.e. similar cast but different story. This is NOT a sequel to Lock Stock. Only Tom Cruise is stupid enough to consider doing that. PS I don't think it's going to happen but there was actually talk about making a British TV version of Lock Stock. I don't know what happened to that though...

Guy Ritchie (Lock Stock's director) said on Charlie Rose that his next projects was "Diamonds" as the above post said. Ritchie said it involves diamond fences and the boxing underground in London and that many of the same actors from Lock Stock would be involved.

    Martin Q Blank is right

    by jenko

Bang on, Martin. This is indeed the follow up film that director Guy Ritchie fancies, along with actors from Lock Stock..., although I'd also heard that Ritchie was doing a film with a total cast of ginger haired characters, including British DJ/Presenter/Carrot-Top/Irritant Chris Evans. Why? Who knows!!

    LS&2SB Prequel

    by roy batty

If anyone cares to follow up on this, a recent issue of the UK mag HEAT (the one w/ the Vinnie Jones cover) says that there will be a five-part British TV prequel to LS&2SB, but that VJ will only appear in the first 2 segments. No news as to airdates, though. Hopefully the American remake will go the way of Walter Hill's THE KILLER with Richatd Gere and Denzel Washington. Whew. The last thing we need is another POINT OF NO RETURN.

get some effing women in there that aren't

    by toodles

either ancient, or comatosed. Yeah the druggy girlfriend ends up doing a Linda Hamilton for the look of it. Big whoop.

That LS&B was so slow, and the last 10 minutes of cool couldn't make up for my disappointment.

Oooooooooooooooohhhhh and the next one is about the London Underground. Find some original material, balance out the testosterone, and TELL A FUCKING INTERESTING, PLAUSABLE STORY.
