There’s An Invite For You Online For MARGOT AT THE WEDDING!

It’s strange... we ran a review the other day for MARGOT AT THE WEDDING, where our reviewer claimed to have been to a test-screening. I’m not sure where he saw it, though, since it hasn’t actually test-screened yet. I think he was much sneakier than he originally said.
I have high hopes for this one. I think it could be a real breakthrough for Jack Black, who finally appears to be freed from the expectation of shtick, and I’m always up for a great Jennifer Jason Leigh performance. I’m not sure I’ve had a chance lately to gush about how brilliant she is, but I am shamelessly in love with her work.

Jack was grand in King Kong except for the scene near the beginning when he's telling people about the island-I was expecting him to break out into that "You're Not Hardcore" song from School Of Rock cos his monologue sounded that much like the intro....

I too was surprised by Jack Black's performance in Kong

Specifically, I was suprised by how much I wanted to crawl onto the screen and punch him in the throat for ruining an otherwise mediocre movie.

liked SQUID AND THE WHALE a lot. this one looks promising. One day I'll do a Noah Baumbach...female American intellectual costume party.

Not a bad thing, mind you, but all his movies seem a little derivative, ie, kicking and screaming is a woody allen movie with younger people, a good thing, and the squid and the whale is good but depressing.
