HBO Launches ENTOURAGE’s 4th Season!!

Published at:  Jun 17, 2007 5:44:54 AM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

“Entourage” begins its fourth season tonight, which is odd because it only ended its third season two weeks ago.

HBO tells us what to expect over the season’s first seven episodes. Beware spoilers:

JUNE 17 - Episode #43: "Welcome to the Jungle." (season four debut) The season debut is a behind-the-scenes documentary about the filming of "Medellin" on location in Bogota, Colombia. On the set, Eric and Billy clash over keeping the film on schedule and Billy develops an infatuation with Vince's beautiful Colombian co-star that becomes increasingly disruptive to the production. Meanwhile, Drama tries to angle for a part in the film, and Ari (Jeremy Piven) provides color commentary from his LA office. Written by Doug Ellin; directed by Mark Mylod.

JUNE 24 - Episode #44: "The First Cut Is the Deepest." Drama plans a welcome-back party for Vince at his new condo, but his obsession with keeping the place pristine puts a damper on the festivities. Ari and Mrs. Ari (Perrey Reeves) learn that their son may not get into their daughter's exclusive private school. Billy's insecurities prevent Eric and Vince from seeing the first cut of "Medellin." Written by Doug Ellin; directed by Mark Mylod.

JULY 1 - Episode #45: "Mailbooty." Billy (Rhys Coiro) submits "Medellin" to Cannes, but Eric (Kevin Connolly) thinks the film still needs major editing. Vince (Adrian Grenier) gets in over his head while hanging at a Malibu beach house. Drama (Kevin Dillon) rekindles a romance with a '90s party girl, and brings Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) along as his wingman. Written by Rob Weiss; directed by Ken Whittingham.

JULY 8 - Episode #46: "Sorry, Harvey." Eric has to give a Hollywood heavyweight some bad news. In hopes of getting annexed to 90210, Drama takes the mayor of Beverly Hills out for a night on the town. Ari (Jeremy Piven) mishandles a top-secret script. Written by Doug Ellin; directed by Ken Whittingham.

JULY 15 - Episode #47: "The Dream Team." The "Medellin" trailer is leaked to YouTube, and an enraged Billy blames Eric. In an effort to appear younger, Drama gets a scrip for a medical-marijuana facility...so he can purchase the club's stylish cap. Ari and Lloyd (Rex Lee) attempt to sabotage a deal with a longtime foe so that Vince can get his next project. Written by Brian Burns; directed by Seith Mann.

JULY 22 - Episode #48: "The WeHo Ho." Billy makes amends with Eric, who's still reluctant to work with him again. After his boyfriend breaks up with him, a devastated Lloyd takes a leave of absence, to Ari's dismay. Turtle goes in on his cousin Ronnie's (Louis Lombardi) latest shady investment opportunity. Written by Doug Ellin; directed by Mark Mylod.

JULY 29 - Episode #49: "The Day Fu*kers." Vince and Drama wager on the romantic prospects of Eric and Turtle. Ari tries to come to grips with the indignity of his son attending public school. Written by Rob Weiss; directed by Mark Mylod.

    by danielkurland

We always need to wait so long between seasons for your shows! 12 months between Six Feet Under season 3 and 4! Over a year for the Sopranos! And now, we had to wait 14 days between season 3 and 4 of Entourage. We can only take so much. Hopefully the ratings will do well, if anyone can remember what happened in the finale, since it happened so long ago.

    sopranos ending

    by firstmanreturns1

man, not to dwell on this, but the more I think about it, the more annoyed I am. I loved the last episode, but I thought that was messed up what Chase did at the very end. And for all of the morons that say it was "genius", you all have no idea what you're talking about. I wouldn't be nearly as mad if they just show Meadow walk in, the family sits down and eats, and that's it. But why the black screen? What a cheap trick.

    by serpico04

Firstmean returne, David Chase pretty much came out and said Tony got whacked. Thats why the fade to black. It was on CNN this week. He said if you watched the episodes its all there. Goes back to his conversation with Bobby."You dont see it coming, everything probably just goes black". Something like that anyway

    sopranos finale

    by nightwood

No, you're not an idiot if you thought it was great; and you're not necessarily someone who enjoys perceiving themselves as "smart"...
The final scene, the cut to black:
At first, I was like what the fuck? But, this is Tony Soprano's existence, especially now. Everything is suspicious, any moment could lead to disaster -- both to him and those he cares about. A lot of people might believe this is the moment just before he actually gets whacked, but I choose to see it as just another mundane moment amplyfied by the sins, the burdens, and the baggage this guy's carrying around. Overall, I felt the show stayed absolutely true to Chase's vision of the Soprano clan.

    "The center cannot hold."

This final episode had everything a great Sopranos episode had -- great music, great filmwork, dark humor, grotesque unromantic violence, non-narrative structure -- and spoke directly, I feel, to Chase's vision of not only the mob, but America.

I don't watch the Sopranos, but...

    by danielkurland

I was aware of how upset everyone was about the ending, and how "nothing happened." However ,if what Serpico4 says is true, about Chase's interview, that ending sounds really cool actually. Ambiguous/implied endings I have always been a fan of, because people will have debates over what happened, and if Chase even forshadowed this whole thing by having that dialogue exchange about being whacked paralleling with cutting to black, then I think that's a pretty great way to end things.

    Billy Walsh

    by don lockwood

I really enjoy the show, but dear God in Heaven above do I hate Billy Walsh. What a fucked up decision for Vince and Eric to make. He's a complete prima donna. Final cut? No fucking way. This path leads only to lots of trouble which I suppose makes the show "interesting", but really, please, don't make the whole season be about the infighting with him. On the other hand, what a fine job by Rhys Coiro to make me hate him so goddamn much.

    by firstmanreturns1

nightwood - that was always Tony Soprano's existence, and i dont think Chase would try to harp on that in the final minutes of the series, that seems besides the point and kinda trivial, but maybe im wrong.

and serpico, I've seen some reports saying HBO is not denying that Tony gets whacked but I haven't heard anything that Chase said, besides him saying "it's all right there".

im hoping possibly that there are more clues that we have not figured out yet. it would be cool if the screen going black signified Tony's death, and the 10 seconds afterwards of nothing imply that his family is being taken out one by one. the guy in the jacket was not Nikki Leotardo but was listed as "the guy in the members only jacket". Earlier there was an episode called "members only". could there be clues in that? also, don't know if anyone noticed but people were wearing a lot of grey in that scene. could people in grey be marked for death (tony was wearing gray)?

Anyways, being what HBO and what Chase (supposedly) are saying, and being that there were 10 full seconds of black screen before the credits, i dont know if im satisfied with the hole ambiguous artistic their life goes on but we dont see what happens the audience was wacked explanation. could we just be missing the clues? could hbo still be planning to release something? could i just be not able to let of the greatest show ever??? possibly...but maybe not ;)

Dramas bit part as a columbian soldier was awesome. And you know he wasnt lying when he got a handjob from that hot columbian chick. The first few episodes of the 4th season should have something to do with Rush Hour 3 since Drama did get a part in it. I would love to see Drama, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan get together and do something hilarious.

    Drama in a successful show???

    by _maltheus_

I was afraid they might go in that direction. Drama said he had a successful first season. His show should have been canceled after three episodes. That was really the only way to handle his story. If he's the star of a successful show then that would make him more popular than Vince in many circles. Most people I know don't even go to the movies more than once or twice a year (if that). Johnny Drama is best when lamenting over the good ole days. If they had to give him a show, they should have gave him a shitty reality show since that's where has-been stars end up. But I'd rather they just leave his character alone. Oh yeah, and agreed on the movie clip thing. They shouldn't even have shown them if they're going to be so bad. Same goes for the Pablo Escabar makeup.

    Bad ep of Entourage

    by horshu

The documentary structure was completely wrong for the pacing of the show; it's kinda like going back to watching the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" pilot and just feeling lukewarm about it. I also thought there was just too much Billy Walsh. Nothing he was doing was funny (unlike his Wally Balls work), so it just came across as an angry, annoying, large chunk of time wasted.
And then there was the Pablo Escobar makeup job, where the whole time, I thought I was trying not to think I was seeing Tony Clifton. Minor gripe compared to Walsh, but again, nothing really worked in the ep.

    Restraint...

    by egg macguffin

I thought this episode was smart in that it showed some restraint. We hardly saw Turtle at all in this episode, because he didn't make sense with the story. It would have been easy to give him more screen time and cheat the story. Same with Ari, the only reason he showed up (for a brief time) was essential to the story; he was the middleman between E and little Nicky "White Lines" Rubenstein.

    People are missing the point

    by zoefan

Especially AnimalStructure. While it was a weird first episode, after the first 5 minutes I kind of liked it. Anyway, yes Grenier's makeup and acting are horrible. And yes, the footage of Medellin is beyond ridiculous. That's kind of the point. And the show has always been like that. You proved that yourself AnimalStructure when you brought up Queens Blvd. and Aqua-Man. And while I will admidt that ever since the Las Vegas episode, the show has seemed to lose some of its luster, to point out things like Grenier's makeup and the Medellin footage makes me wonder whether you really watched the first two seasons.

    I agree with 50%

    by zoefan

As mentioned before, I agree that the show has gone down a little (maybe even jumped the shark), compared to Seasons 1 and 2. However I will have to disagree with you about Queens Blvd., Aqua-Man and now Medellin. To the viewer, they are supposed to look ridiculous. Because they are an exageration. In the Entourage world, Vinny Chase is a great actor. In that world Queens Blvd, Aqua-Man and Medellin are amazing. However, to the viewer they are an exageration. Usually in film and TV when a character is playing an actor they over do it. The only film I can think of when that's not the case is Naomi Watts in Mulholland Dr. when she's at her audition. That's why the character of Vinny Chase is such a bad actor. Usually in TV or Film when a film is being portrayed on a character's TV or movie theater(that isn't already a real film) it's an overexaggeration. Same thing with Entourage and Vinny chase's movies. And again, I'll agree with you that Seasons 1 and 2 had A LOT more real life elements to it (which made those seasons better), however it's still an enjoyable show.

    by dannychico

Don't try to be "The Office," Entourage. Of course, I'm just being harsh. I realize the documentary format was a way of accomplishing a great deal in one episode - basically about a month of filming as opposed to the few days an episode usually covers.
