WS no longer directing CASTLEVANIA... The new director is...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It might just be my fuzzy memory... I hope I'm not putting my foot smack dab in my big maw, but I have it in my brain that Paul WS Anderson was supposed to direct CASTLEVANIA as well as write it. Well, today the news emerges that Anderson is not directing, but Sylvain White will be tackling the film, from Anderson's script. White hasn't really done anything to get me excited about this... STOMP THE YARD and direct to video horror sequels. But our own Elston Gunn interviewed him a while back and he came across as a decent guy. Of course, so does Paul WS Anderson and at least with Anderson I can say that EVENT HORIZON is a pretty kick-ass little movie and MORTAL KOMBAT was retardedly enjoyable. So, is it good news? Is it not? I have no clue. White's also attached to Frank Miller's RONIN, so I hope he's got what it takes. I just hope whatever CASTLEVANIA ends up being that it's a cool movie. If I have to sit through another VAN HELSING I might have to pull a Trashcan Man and start burning some studios to the ground.
