Bond director, Martin Campbell, is UNSTOPPABLE!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I actually kind of like the sound of this project, called UNSTOPPABLE. It's a runaway train movie about an engineer and a conductor that speed to meet the out of control train running on a separate track. It's a ticking clock movie. They need to get to the train before it hits a curve and derails, spilling it's load of toxic chemicals.
Martin Campbell (GOLDENEYE and CASINO ROYALE) is directing for 20th Century Fox. LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD's screenwriter, Mark Bomback, is scripting.
Sounds fun as it is, but... maybe it's just me, but if this was a period movie, something set in the depression or something, I think this would really get me excited. I don't know what the hell could be dumped to cause such a panic in a period movie... and maybe it's just my love of EMPEROR OF THE NORTH POLE clouding my judgment... What do you folks think?

is blah.
-
Yeah
-
So this is the remake?
-
Hellooooooo...
-
but his other stuff just seems to just be merely be by the numbers.
-
again
-
And yet I'm still an unmarried fool. Go figure. =)
I need to print that and laminate that. I hear chicks dig that more then Michael Bays golden locks.
-
They should announce this as remake.
-
I thought Kurosawa directed that?
-
He says myspace.com is for 14 year old girls and perverts.
-
And The Legend Of Zorro was underrated.
-
The first thing I thought when I read the description was a film set in the old west...don't know why...
-
What if the question here is whether you would board a train to pre-emptively (sp?) detonate a bomb (nuclear or otherwise) to stop terrorists from killing whole cities, even though you (Mr. Good Guy) would kill everyone on the train, including yourself, in the process?
-
Good old fashioned, unrealistic fun! Can't beat it! :)
-
I just assume there will be.
-
Oh well. Hopes its Marc Forster then.
-
Somebody call Steven Seagal. And Vern.
-
About a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode! I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."
-
with Andy Serkis as Gary Coleman.
-
minus the spooky CGI
-
..Eric 'they took my thumb' Roberts?
-
Where the heck is part 2 of the questions?
-
Check it out. It's exploding.
-
I used my patented MovieSense(tm). I love Casino Royale and Goldeneye, but foresee dull things coming from this project.
-
There's no way it can be worse than Atomic Train.
-
Apart from the 2 bonds and the FIRST Zorro flick he's got a very ropey C.V.
He's no Eli Roth..!
He does have lots of MySpace Friends tho.. -
Nuff Said
-
Gimme a break. Why even greenlight this project unless its being shot for the sci fi channel.
I GUARANTEE this will lose money at the box office. I don't care WHO is directing or WHO is staring in it.
Runaway train movies are SO cliche.
Everything that could be done on a train HAS been done on a train. BORING.
I think Rob Lowe's ATOMIC TRAIN was the moment when runaway train movies jumped the shark.

You'll believe a man can cum buckets.
-
That's an interesting choice if it's true. Sony has totally taken control of the franchise.
-
The guys at Fox...well, are there guys at all? Or do they have stupid trainees (no pun intended) only? That would also explain PG-13 Die Hard and the crappy AvP movie.
-
Yes, I believe it is. And that is a WICKED movie. Best movie about hobos and trains, ever.
-
wowowoowowow fucking bacteria
-
It was originally titled Emperor of the North Pole, later got renamed. Sounds a lot better without the Pole tho. Great movie nonetheless, just like Runaway Train.
-
i know that MAN but like fucking bacteria is just like what life is and shit- can you dig it. fucking hammocks are so rad, if i had more than 0 dollars i'd buy one. you bet your sweet ass id buy one what you got to say bout that
-
did somebody actually type that? jesus christ
-
Damn.
-
You on crack man?
-
Very bland director.
-
He's still dead. Runaway Train still rocks on though.
-
Martin Campbell directed the last 2 good bonds. Casino Royale and Goldeneye. He should be forced to direct every bond until he dies. I don't want to the bond series to get shitty again.
-
I know I'm seeing Transformers that weekend.
-
Take a helicopter and land on the train. Disaster solved
-
CASINO ROYALE was my favorite flick of 2006 and GOLDENEYE is right up there on the top Bond flicks as well. While I felt LEGEND OF ZORRO was a bit flat at times (the swordfights ruled, though), THE MASK OF ZORRO is a really great movie.
-
they could put a bus on the train, like they do in the Chunnel. Bring back Keanu and the not-so-sexy Sandra Bullock.
-
At least, according to these lovely people...

Good thing I lost my soul to the pits of Hell for one of the best Bond flicks in decades. Totally worth it.
-
And didn't that movie suck?
-
Starring Hakeem Olajuwon, of course
-
is going to make a cameo
-
Will someone fall off the train and get back on numerous times ? Put shoe polish and their face to sneak on the train ?
-
Was watchable. Campbell knows his stuff!
-
I loved it so much.
-
Just how many times has this plot device been done to death! Give it up already.
-
and Camus would be proud of the existencialism on display troughout. Everything rules in this movie. Its Voight who looses hand/fingers. The most insane thing of all is that it was produced by Golan-Globus, who did nothing even remotely meaninfull or of that leve ever. It redeems their whole company.I am fuckin` tired of horrible news where I can only post complaints and such. I WANT GOOD NEWS SO I CAN POST POSITIVE POSTS!!! Im am not Ranken!!! This are one of the worst weeks for cinema in a decade.
-
I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode! I think it was called "The Bus That Couldnt Slow Down."
-
...should make films more often.
-
Excellent friggin' film - amazing performances and action. Director Andrei Konchalowski went from that to TANGO AND CASH (dont ask).
-
Id buy that for a dollar.
-
The guy is an over the top badass. Just watch Vertical Limit. Best action comedy almost ever. BTW where's Chris O'Donnell's comeback?
-
"Listen, we have a script, a slambang actioner, a cross between CASSANDRA CROSSING, but without the bubonic plague, SILVER STREAK, without the comedy and NARROW MARGIN, but without the female hitlady, with some Seagal love, UNDER SEIGE II thrown in, and some of the manic brutality and edge of RUNAWAY TRAIN, without the convicts, and EMPEROR OF THE NORTH POLE, minus the period Depression setting and Ernest Borgnine's hammer. It's called UNSTOPPABLE"
That's assuming that the idiot Fox business school executives understood the movie references... -
But Mark Bomback writing? WTF?
-
so everything Martin Campbell directs is a go. Bomback or not.
-
... but I'd have prefered Campbell to have picked up where he left off with Bond 22 and not this lame runaway train thing.
-
I'd see it
