For Real?? MyNetworkTV To Bring Back NBC’s MEET MY FOLKS and Fox’s PARADISE HOTEL!!

Published at:  May 30, 2007 6:54:16 AM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

It continues to be a reality world! MyNetworkTV has finally announced its fall slate, and there’s nary a telenovela in sight!

Remember Fox’s 2003 "Big Brother" knock-off “Paradise Hotel”? With future professional model Charla Philstrom? And smitten Dave “Man-Boobs” Kerpen? And bug-eyed “Love Cruise” refugee Toni Ferrari? It returns on MyNet in March.

So is a new version of NBC’s lie-detector extravaganza “Meet My Folks.”

Returning to the MyNet Monday slate is “IFL Battleground.”

The netlet, forged in the orphan misery of the UPN/WB merger, is sticking with movies on Thursday and Friday nights.

MyNet’s fall slate:

MONDAY
8 p.m. IFL Battleground

TUESDAY
8 p.m. The Academy
9 p.m. Jail

WEDNESDAY
8 p.m. Divorce Wars
9 p.m. Meet My Folks

THURSDAY
8 p.m. Movie

FRIDAY

    Ah, Paradise Hotel...

    by huffy_henry

I've missed you. It really was a fine show, if you like watching a bunch of douchebags get drunk and treat each other badly. And I do... Oh lord I do.

    Paradise Hotel

    by darth busey

I don't watch reality shows at all, but I was addicted to this trashy show. It was quite a bit of fun. If they can cast it as well as the first edition, I'll watch it again.

IFL Battleground - good that it came back...

    by pennsy

Since that makes one show more than I'll watch on the CW. It'll be the only MNTV series I'll see, since I enjoy mixed martial arts (Pride, K-1, K-1 Hero's are all Japan-based and good, except Pride was bought out by UFC after they were damaged by a scandal where it was documented key Pride officers were in bed, shall we say, with the yakuza). Pride lost its national TV outlet and was badly weakened to the point they were vulnerable to a takeover by UFC, which is exactly what happened in March. I know I'm rambling, so I'll stop here. :)

On a better note, 'Razor' will air on SciFi 11/1.

    by pennsy

Or, in plainer English, the Battlestar Galactica TV-movie which will be a Pegasus-era prequel.

Lamer than PAX? How is that possible?

    by kazamasmokers

It would be cheaper if they just ran five straight nights of "Da Vinci's Inquest" re-runs... and they'd probably get better ratings.

Da Vinci's Inquest is fun to watch...

    by kid z

...It's like CSI or Law & Order from Earth 2 (the DC Comics Earth 2, not that lame-ass show from the 90s) or something. Who needs alternate universes when you've got Canada!

    WHY

    by the real mirajeff

does this network exist? Is that a lineup for television up there? They expect someone to actually tune in to one of those shows? Why not just save the money and pay Leo's 20 million salary and have him save 24. What is this channel good for, besides a diversion from other, better channels? Who is the executive in charge of that god-awful lineup. If I were them, I'd just pick up all the Big 3's leftovers that didn't make the upfront schedule. This is a waste of everyone's time, from the people at the network to the people who work on these awful shows, to the people expected to subject themselves to sitting through them. Yikes.

Paradise Hotel was the lowest form of reality tv

    by yeti

and I loved every sickening second including that the producers clearly had no idea how the "game" would end.

    by wed vid guy

They gotta have a nerd like Dave back on. That's why the first one worked so well. I was routing for Dave like nobody's business. Too bad he was the only one on the show who didn't get laid.

today is a day for celebration

    by showbizjg

Paradise Hotel was the single best reality show to ever grace america's airwaves! just a few months back i was thrilled to find reruns on Fox Reality Channel. I worry tho that no producer could capture lightning in a bottle twice, the innaugural season was just flat out insanity, like people just checked rationality and basic human decency at the door, the night Keith kicked Zach to the curb and amy and the rest of the "cool" kids went apeshizz was probably the best moment of television ever lol

Of course Dave not getting laid might be a blessing

    by wed vid guy

Who knows what kind of STDs were running around? It was kinda funny how the producers didn't know what the fuck to do and how they plainly rigged the challenges to keep Dave on the show. Did it ever occur to them that if a new guest replaced the old guest that there would never be an end? Greatest reality show ever? Maybe. Second Greatest? Joe Millionaire!

    Paradise Hotel needs a DVD

    by indiephantom

That's the only damn reality show I liked. Sleazy and trashy fun and a great theme song. Would watch a second season, but I really want the 1st ones on DVD.
