The trailer for Disney's ENCHANTED crosses over to the internets!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I don't understand this trailer... how could I want to see this movie at all? I didn't see anything I particularly liked in the trailer (minus the dragon), but for some reason I want to see this movie now. How does a trailer do that? It's corny, it's lame... it's the FAT ALBERT movie formula... Maybe it's the idea of watching this good cast in this horrible cliche of a movie... maybe it's a car wreck you can't help but looking at as you drive past it... I don't know... maybe I just need to take a break? heh...

It's dead, Jim!

There's just an extra set of quotes on the end of the link. Look at the properties, copy the data and hack off the quotes. You'll get your trailer.
-
They have a WORKING link. Not to mention they almost always have trailers long before this sloppy site ever gets around to reporting them.

But I love the idea of Disney being self ironic (Musical numbers). And the Dragon looks so fucking cool!
-
looks funny enough. love amy adams
-
There's always some offchance that it might work. We have yet to see the 80s Splash/Big-esque fish-out-of-water fantasy comedies adapted successfully in this decade, and family films could sure use it. At least the cast doesn't look like they care if it sucks and are just going with it full-force. Even if it is a trainwreck, it looks like a glorious trainwreck, which sure beats mediocrity. I'd take this over Shrek 4 any day.
-
And Amy Adams is smoking hot.
-
I'll watch any movie she's in.
-
I'll probably see it
-
And having dragons in a movie have been the kiss of death for a lot of films lately... unless your title has Harry Potter somewhere.

They meant to say

They had some extra something on the end by mistake.

I realy thought it was quit funny, the disney self ironic musical gags are hilarious.
-
.....Ironically enough the live action portion of the film seems kind of flat.I Like that musical bike crash at the end though.
-
Patrick Dempsey looks a little embarrassed to be there, and the premise seems like Disney saying "If Shrek could mock us, then we can mock us." A Disney movie parodying the conventions of Disney musical fantasy movies? i assume the target demographic is smart of hip parents with children in the 4-11 age bracket. And those 11 years olds are definitely going to think they're too old for this stuff... but they'll kinda dig it anyway.

since this has such little relevance to anything cool..

we can make this the unoffical LOST talkback, lets start by posting stuff we remember from that talkback from TWO fucking WEEKS ago
-
glad that got us talking, it sure does look "beautiful" Evil Hobbit and "I'm Down" too Epleterte!
-
Juliett is still playing Jack and everybody else. Trifilin ass ho said the Looking Glass station was flooded, also, the big shocker from last week was that Charlie didn't die, which begs the question, will he die this week?
-
should have directed this. would've given the live-action more zing. in fact, she should direct everything from now on.
-
I mean taking pot shots at the corny animated musical....not exactly new. Even Shrek is wearing out that pair of tights. And it hurts that the animated portions look so wonderful. If they committed this to better stories/formulas/concepts they'd have movies I could love. James Marsden looks like he owns this movie though. Thank you magic mirror!
-
i haven't liked anything they have done in a while. Disney died with Hercules.
-
She's a great actress, absolutely beautiful and I hope she has a huge career. Enchanted looks fun. I lvoe when she breaks into song. Sarandan as the evil witch is a great choice.
-
No love for Captain Jack Sparrow?
-
Maybe it's because I've got a 2 1/2 year old and all I watch is kiddie shows, but I giggled at few of the gags in the trailer. I skipped on Fat Albert so maybe the concepts isn't old to me. As far is kid/family movies go, this look a damn sight better than Underdog.
-
But it was reborn with MEET THE ROBINSONS. Not a perfect movie, but their best in many many years and a damn lot of fun. I expect John Lasseter to do some great things with Disney. I think this looks cute... I like the cast and the premise (even if it is old hat) and never felt like Shrek properly sent any of these conventions up in the first place.
-
That's how I'd describe the trailer...so it probably shouldn't have been linked here.
And, yes, I'll be seeing it. -
This guy is never, ever going to be taken seriously as an actor. The fact he's getting smacked around again makes me want to see it more.
-
Sorry. No way, Disney. It's horrid. Terrible. F.
-
The animation looks slick as ever, but the usual live-action formula for Disney is romantic comedy on the cheap with recognizable but relatively inexpensive stars to maximize profit potential. Witness the "hot on TV but hasn't made a hit movie in 20 years" casting of Dempsey...and that show's on ABC, naturally. I wonder when "Ugly Betty" gets her own Disney rom-com, and what hackneyed "twist" on the "Cinderella story" will be shoehorned into it.?
-
Yeah, let's teach the little kiddies that Snow White and Cinderella are dorks and fairy tales are full of crap. That'll really build the brand. Maybe you could rename "Fantasyland" "Fartjokeland" while you're at it, that'd pretty much sum up the last few cartoons.
-
Amy Adams. Cyclops. And hey, isn't that Susan Sarandon as the witch? Right on. Patrick Dempsey? Not so much. As a father, I deplore mindless condescending children's fare, so I might actually give this and Stardust a chance.
-
Why do they keep calling movies 'events'?
-
than watch this shit.
-
That really didn't take very long. Got a link that works?
-
...they're trying to make a point to "premiere" the trailer in front of Pirates. Like it's the friggin' Episode 1 trailer or something. Whoopity damn doo doo.
-
...people wanted to see this trailer. Now you've missed the rush of interest and look like jerks.
-
Apparently Disney isn't hip to viral marketing. Take a note from Sly, Mary!!

I didn't realize until now how much I really miss traditional 2-D animation...please Disney, don't fuck this up.
-
I'll rent it for the family and have a jolly good laugh.
Frankly, I think the lot of you are a bunch of withered, cynical little trolls.
But I love every last one of you.

I get the feeling Disney are still not convinced 2D will be as embraced as it once was (we all know this is not true) and even though only part of this is animation for story reasons, I get the feeling Disney towers are going to be watching the reaction to the animation parts closely before letting Lassiter start his 2D invasion.
-
But the big test is "The Frog Princess." (Actually, that's now called the "Princess & the Frog," because a small group of nutcases thought it might offend the French.) That's the one with the first black Disney princess, Maddy (Actually, her name is now Tiana because a small group of nutcases thought 'Maddy' sounded too much like 'Mammy.') Currently it's a Cinderella type story with adventure, romance, and strange villains (actually, they may downplay the Cinderella part because they don't want to show a black person in the 1920's who had a menial service job like Maddy--I mean Tiana--does as a chambermaid for a rich white woman. Gee, maybe they could make her a lawyer...or a politician. Lots of options for non-white, non-males in 1920's Louisiana. Also they may eliminate a black voodoo villain, because it stereotypes voodoo and evil as "black things"...all according to, again, a small group of nutcases.) So we'll see what the future brings. By the way, all of the above is 100% true.
-
still, there were a few parts that made me chuckle. But Amy Adams is soooooooooo yummy and marvelous. I'll wait for the DVD.
-
...but I think between this and the new HAIRSPRAY Marsden could really turn his career around. His goofiness is the best thing in this trauiler.
-
I like that they keep bursting into song.
-
However, it's DAMN nice to see real animation again, so much so that I might actually go check this out.
-
Looky... http://rapidshare.com/files/32826087/ Enchanted.mov
-
as far as James Marsden being geigh and all.
-
With all the money the mouse spent on this half-baked crap, they didn't even bother to CG out the Superman Returns billboard.
I WAS excited for this film, but now I'm kinda cringing. If you're gonna do satire or even parody, at least use some biting cruelty in your attack and really GO for it. "We love fairy tales, and this is another fairy tale, unless you hate fairy tales, in which case so do we!" is just a pussy way to go about it.
I only came close to laughing once, when the guy got hit by the bikes. -
It is what it is and looks like it would be funny.
-
Fantastic animation? Check. Spot-on casting? Check. Susan Sarandon's triumphant return to musicals after Rocky Horror? Check. ALAN FUCKING MENKIN-composed songs? FUCKING CHECK! Hot damn! I've been waiting for the trailer for MONTHS! I'm sorry, but this looks awesome. Then again, I'm a Disney fan who's hated every single CG movie not made by Pixar - including Meet the Robinsons. This looks hilarious. Fuck you, haters.
-
..about a Disney fan ending a post with "Fuck you, haters." But I agree, the movie could be harmless fun and I'll admit I was surprised I kind of chuckled a couple times at the trailer... which is more than I can say for Underdog.
-
...when will people learn that it's not the genre...but the STORY....that matters....
-
But your point is well taken.
-
There's two good direct link mirrors there.
I want to keep this trailer alive because, well, I love Disney animation. Even when it was sublet out of house, like this was. -
that utiles the talents of AMERICAN hand drawn animators. (Yeah, I don't care if the animators that worked on it weren't born here, they're carrying on an important legacy, so in my mind they're honorary americans.)BRING BACK HAND DRAWN ANIMATION
-
but you understand, I'm sure.
-
Why do the animated characters turn live-action, but the animals go from 2D to CG?
They really should have left the animals in the 2D world if they were just gonna keep them animated. -
I can see this being popular with, say, the early-teen girls who grew up with the old Disney 'toons being stuck in the VCR and/or DVD player by the parents so they can see the classics. They'll be old enough to appreciate the classic cartoon mockery while still liking the romantic comedy stuff. And you just know that it will pretty much turn into a Disney cartoon at the end. Musical number, etc.
-
once again, the man has got the part of "clueless, well-meaning boyfriend in a big hollywood fantasy" down perfectly, doesn't he?
