And who will turn up in the final seconds of the season finale? Soul-Patch Tony Alemeida? Naked Mandy? It won’t be David Palmer, because CBS just picked “The Unit” up for a new season.

There’s a lot of talk about spinning “24” – which was just picked up for two more seasons - in a new direction next year. But how much can it change? Would it still be “24” without the constantly compromised Counter Terrorism Unit?
