'I Didn't Tell Her!!' Big Tuna Goes To Town!! SWEEPS DAY 22!! The 1-Hour OFFICE Season Finale!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!
Pam literally walked through fire last week and admitted that she called off her wedding because of Jim.
Karen, Jim and Michael are all competing for the same job at corporate. Rashida Jones’ new sitcom, “The Rules of Starting Over,” was ordered for the Fox Network, so Karen might be getting that job at corporate instead of Jim or Michael.
NBC says:
In a special one-hour finale, the office is still buzzing from the events of their day at the beach. A job opening in Corporate pits coworker against coworker as Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell), Jim (John Krasinski) and Karen (Rashida Jones) all head to New York for final interviews. In Scranton, Dwight's (Rainn Wilson) new regime institutes sweeping reforms, Pam (Jenna Fischer) plays an interesting role, and Jan (Melora Hardin) comes in with exciting news.
For those who missed the news on Monday, NBC ordered a whopping 30 episodes of “The Office’s” fourth season, five of which will be hour-longs. It also moves to 9 p.m.
Note this week’s earlier start time:
8 p.m. Thursday. NBC.

-

-
May 17, 2007 3:38:49 AM CDT
Sorry Herc, everyones askin', no ones answering.
by tomthumbstallywhacker
So where is it? at least make an announcement, instead of treating Lost fans like naughty children because of a couple of pricks.
-
To answer your repetitive inquiry, I misquote Randy Newman: "It's gone, it's gone, it's really gone, you never saw anything so gone."
-
thats all i know. and pam would totally lose to kate in a fist fight. poor charlie- i mean- poor steve carrell. ah fuck it!!!! LOST.
-
Sorry man, But thanks! You've been more use than the AICN staff...
-
the last one was hijacked by retards. now we have no lostback for a week or so. because of retards who gave spoilers for the season ender. retards i tel ya. now quit your bitching. go see the taps back if you want to read a full answer.
-
Oh good for you, Napoleon, for that long winded explaination that no one will care about. Seriously, good for you, you get the nerd award of the night. Hope that gets you points with the three friends you have in real life.
-
May 17, 2007 3:49:18 AM CDT
Magicninja: clearly I, besides many others, care.
by tomthumbstallywhacker
and am grateful for Napoleons constructive post clarifying the situation. Now fuck off you cunt.
-
Why did you delete Napoleon Park's explanation? You know, the thing that you haven't got the basic manners to post?
-
Herc posted the thread of Monday, boasting of season-ending spoilers. Mori chimed in. People got annoyed because they wouldn't spill the goods so someone(s) went out of there to get the complete spoilage happening.
ABC got pissed. Even though it wasn't Herc/Mori who revealed the 'game-changer', it was now public at AICN. ABC sent a Cease-and-Desist message, and thus the cleanup begins. The talkback is removed, and any posts stuck in other talkbacks regarding the game-changer are now met with extreme prejudice.
Now, as part of the Cease-and-Desist, they can't post a Wednesday Lost talkback. They also can't post an explanation otherwise that talkback becomes the Wednesday Lost talkback. So they decide to remain silent, delete any offending posts, and leave Lost fans to fend for themselves...
Life imitates art! -
Post the LOST finale spoilers in ALL the posts, if you know them. Its a shitty thing to do, but, if AICN insists on treating us like children, well...
-
Before this TV season started, David Cross stated he would be appearing on Scrubs as Tobias Funke, as long as the legal logistcis behind it worked out. He said even if they didn't though, he'd still be guest starring on the show. My question is: Where the fuck was he!
-
They're deleting individual posts in some cases, but in the case of multiple posts by the same individual, the individual is going buh-bye
-
Nah, not really. I too hate the douches that dump spoilers on the web (not the little, peak your interest ones, but giving away the twists the staff worked hard to give you, and then not inviso-texting or blocking it off from casual view). This seems like an over reaction as far as Lost is concerned. I'd like to discuss the episode. I usually think the glimpses AICN gives on Lost actually increase my anticipation vice spoiling it. Can't we at least go back to what we usually had rather than eliminating all threads concerning Lost?
-
I bet Jan is fucking pregnant.
-
That is (almost) literally the stupidest thing anyone has posted on this site. Yes, the solution to the problem is to continue to post spoilers which are obtainable to anyone with a fucking search engine and 3 spare minutes in their day. Yes, it is a shitty thing to do, given that in seven days, no one will give two flying shits about Lost spoilers, and you can discuss it to your heart's content for the next 8 months until new ep's come on. Asshat.
-
No offense guys. I know this is an Office TB but I was wondering why there wasn't one for Lost this week...
They shoulda killed the hobbit...
Oh, and since this is an Office TB, did you hear that Jenna Fischer (Pam) slipped down a staircase this week and fractured her back in four places? Ouch! Let's all hope she gets well soon... -
Guess I shoulda read all the other TB responses before I posted. My bad. But yeah, Jenna Fischer really broke her back.
-
not nearly as good as Lost. Don't hate on the show cause of that faggot. A-Holes are eveywhere, and fans of everthing. I love The Beatles, but I'm sure there are some aholes that like them too! LOST ROCKS! BRING BACK THE TB!
-
For being helpful and answering someones question?
I am so proud. -
The Office sounds much like Lost, there was even a beach episode and an invasion by hostiles.
I think Office is stealing Lost ideas. Like New Regime equates with Sawyer in control.
-
is being so diplomatic about the potentially huge Lost finale. I actually avoided the Monday Lost talkback because I don't want to know what's going to happen, so this isn't a big deal. I can wait 7 days.
-
in the UK, we get the latest episode of Lost every Sunday, 3 days later than when it screens in the US. I visit the AICN recap on wednesdays but try to avoid the TBs until Sunday. However, because i lack all discernable willpower, it's difficult to avoid catching spoilers. It will be hell on earth waiting between the season 3 finale to screen here so I'd rather AICN block as much as it can to save me from myself.
-
I just read the TAPS talkback and will support the staff by ceasing all hijacking. I'm not one of the "rabid" percentage, though I don't know that that was ever a LARGE percentage worth denying others a forum. Please post no more Lost stuff here, Office only, and let's get this site back to what the majority of us enjoyed. There. Done. I don't feel like Neville Chamberlain at all. Really.
-
In the US we get new Dr Who's three or four years later than the TB. According to your logic, and you only have a three day gap, we should delete the Dr Who tb's as well.
Lack of Lost tb only proves just how much payola is spent here.
I guess FX doesn't pony up for The Riches or Dirt or Nip/Tuck, but they do the Shield. -
May 17, 2007 7:32:04 AM CDT
WOW, So I read these game-changing spoilers...
by totallygayforchristianbale
Google: eleventyurple.
That's pretty badass, LOST creators. But you killed a lot of the tension and stuff for the next couple years, unless "LOST" takes on whole different meanings. -
Moriarty speaks: http://tinyurl.com/2hsfhd
-
This is the first season that really hasn't built up to the finale. Which is lame. Actually, "Labyrinth" the episode where Clark was going crazy should not only have been th season finale, but the series fiale, if WB won't let them end he show right. Yeah it was done already on St.Elsewhere, and DS9, but minus the last ten minutes or so, it was one of the bet episodes of the series.
-
First, I don't give a rat's ass about Dr Who. Secondly, I'm not saying there shouldn't be Lost TBs. I'm saying that - given that there are gigantic Lost spoilers currently floating around the internets - i'm content that there aren't currently any Lost TBs on AICN. Third, payola? Apart from the money that Coax makes off Amazon links, I don't think there's any payola here: it seems to me to be dictated by what Herc and others find interesting or newsworthy. And if FX really are paying for Shield talkbacks, they should probably ask for their money back.
-
wheres the talkback for the new TV spot for transformers that aired during american idol last nite ??? been up at comingsoon.net since about midnite....awesome stuff, surprised AICN got scooped on that one...as for smallville and other stuff there should be a talkback for that and supernatural..and def for LOST....last nites episode was awesome too
-
about THE OFFICE....it sucks...watched the first episode and it stunk..steve carell is a mediocre actor at best...if it wasnt for 40yr old virgin and jim carrey dropping out of the bruce almighty sequel, we wouldnt even know who he is..
-
i agree.....i think entirely too much space on AICN is devoted to the ravenous BS that doctor who(cares) is..some even place it higher up the sci-fi list than BSG and HEROES...this office show is crap too...cant believe cbs cancels jericho but crap like this get renewed over and over....
-
give me a break...boo hoo hijacking topics... like the AICN TB's were always a place of fine rhetoric.
-
It's me, biggles! O-ney Ore-mey OST-ley Oiler-spey. O-sey elp-hey e-mey Od-Gey!
-
Your lack of appreciation for Office is a true commentary on your overall stature as an intellectual. Huzzah, my friend.
-
For those who missed the news on Monday, NBC ordered a whopping 30 episodes of “The Office’s” fourth season, five of which will be hour-longs. It also moves to 9 p.m.wow.
-
And you'll get a "gold star" if you can tell me who Sgt. Hulka is!
-
Again your logic was clear because you don't see a thing for three days, why post tbs before then, therefore who post Dr Who talkbacks at all.
As for your three day wait, don't read the tb until then. Wjhy burden us with your lack of downloading experience which would allow you the pleasure of watching Lost within hours of broadcast.
Instead you wish to deny us all our right to vent.
Payola exists in many forms, like ACCESS for one. Or press junketts. Money isn't the only thing changing hands.
You can't be that naive, can you? -
Then they wouldn't have to swim down for a damn switch. Great plan, Jack. Asshat.
-
I happen to be slkboxrman's official "Arch", assigned from the Guild Of Calamitous Intent.
-
(1) I'm pretty confident that the silent majority of talkbackers, myself included, are pretty upset by the actions of the few people who decided to hijack all the talkbacks with Lost spoiler information. (2) I'm fairly confident that if the AICN powers-that-be provide open disclosure and update its readership with the reasons for censorship (i.e. - deleting posts/taking down talkbacks), we will forgive and move on. (3) Unfortunately, the internet is like a elementary school playground where typically there is no fear of reprimand... this often works to everyone's advantage if people can remain caring and mature. However, when a few bullys come along, the situation quickly spirals out of control. AICN, please remember the vast majority of your readership never posts in the talkbacks, they just stalk, and the vast majority of those that do post, are just looking for a good community of true fans to discuss our favorite shows, movies, comics, books, etc....
-
You keep raising Dr Who. Why? I don't watch Dr Who, I don't give a rat's ass about Dr Who, so you can have all the gay little Dr Who talkbacks you want, go ahead, knock yourself out. If you'd actually read my post instead of arguing against what you'd assumed that I wrote, you'd see that I wasn't actually arguing against Lost talbacks, i was just relieved that there weren't any, because the temptation to read them is otherwise too great. As for your "right to vent", it seems to me that you're perfectly free to vent on your homepage (which i assume is something like www.imadorkwholovesdrwho.com), but that you don't have any right to vent on talkbacks owned by someone else. As for payola, you're welcome to your little conspiracy theories: again, why not post them on your website so i don't have to waste time reading them?
-
30 minutes is too short! I love the Office.
-
Seriously, how much longer will this show be on the air? I love it, but I got to think with Carell's movie career growing, it won't be on much longer.
-
unless it actually got BETTER from that first episode... it was painful to sit thru that first episode.....horrible acting from steve carell, maybe if he woulda did the gibberish from the bruce almighty movie for the whole half hour i woulda laughed and been more interested.... wsasnt the first ep about sexual harrasment or anger management ?
can i google that SGT Hulka thing ? -
I wish I could help you on the Hulka thing though. But to experience Hulka, one must go on a personal journey to discover one's big toe.
-
I really only joined for the exercise program.
-
Hilarious line from a hilarious movie!!!
-
Are you seriously that dense?
Your bitch was that because you didn't see Lost officially until three days after US there should be no Lost talkbacks.
My example was since Dr Who isn't officially released in the us for a number of years there should be no Dr Who talkbacks.
At least according to your logic.
Even helmet wearing retarded can understand that point, so why can't you? -
"n the UK, we get the latest episode of Lost every Sunday, 3 days later than when it screens in the US. I visit the AICN recap on wednesdays but try to avoid the TBs until Sunday. However, because i lack all discernable willpower, it's difficult to avoid catching spoilers. It will be hell on earth waiting between the season 3 finale to screen here so I'd rather AICN block as much as it can to save me from myself."
Again why don't you just download the latest episode instead of wanting to force the rest of us to restrain your idiocy?
Can we kick your ass for overeating or smoking?
-
US office lacked something the Britcom had. The Brit version was almost painful to watch, because it was so uncomfortable in capturing the character.
I'm not a big fan of Carrell either. -
sort of surprised that Dwight didn't make any Lost references...that just seems like a natural time to do it.
-
There are less than 10 posts for The Office in The Office talkback! Deal with no lost talkback and stop hi-jacking ours!
-
It's a great show, but let's talk about The Office. I think one of the funniest moments ever on the show was when Andy fell in the Lake and he was trying to get Angela to help him.
-
I volunteer to nurse her back to health.
-
when Andy was stuck in the reeds and said, after hearing a car, "Who's there? I'm with a group called Dunder Mifflin." I laughed my ass off. I didn;t really like the rest of the episode. it was a bit too "wacky" for me (I love wacky comedy, but the games ranked up there with Michael ruining the wedding and threatening to jump off the building onto the inflatable castle). the Office is at its best when the characters are on display, not the situations. Long live Creed!
-
I always thought why didn't they use that cable for something? Fire, power for electronic devices aboard the plane, SOMETHING... tonight the producers explained why..www.tinyurl.com/3cnapj look at the schematic of the hatch Sayid and Jack were looking at..top right corner. Answer! Now, who is the Asshat?
-
Just like Benjamin Franklin once said: "It takes an asshat to know an asshat." And that's how I know the island in Lost is filled with asshats...except for Sayid, who is the only voice of common sense in the group. There are so many "why the hell don't you ask this" moments in the series that sometimes you want to turn off the TV. For instance, I guess no one wants to ask Juliet about the smoke monster...yeah, she says she doesn't know much about it, but c'mon, she must know more than the survivors! It's like there's a million of these. Granted, the season has improved considerably in the last few episodes, but there are so many jaw dropping idiotic dialog (or lack of dialog).
-
...then how does it keep the lights on? 2 AA batteries? That lasts longer than DARMA? Wow, that drumming bunny must be happy.
-
Sorry Herc,
Just saw on CNN.com that Ms. Mars's services will be be required for next season. -
Take 2
Sorry Herc, Just saw on CNN.com that Ms. Mars's services will NOT be be required for next season. -
I said in my very first post that I liked the fact that there were no Lost talkbacks because it took away the temptation of reading them. It was an expression of my particular relief at the current situation vis-a-vis Lost, not a fucking Kantian universal that there should never be any Lost talkbacks. You've nonetheless spent the last several posts wittering your drivel about Dr Who. Seriously, how mentally challenged are you?
-
"The CW network canceled the cult hit "Veronica Mars" and will try to pick up steam in its second year with series about the snobby rich, transplanted families and a bounty hunter for the devil". In other words, the CW is run by a bunch of frakking idiots.

deleted. Herc kinda posted spoilers for tonights episode after all.
-
season finale tonight! bizzarro! a major character dies!!
-
Gee, you're doing a great job this week.
-
season 1 was the only good season of that show.
-
Wow, you are really UP on things, dude.
-
I'd really like Jenna Fischer to put her feet on my face.
-
When Clark has the "so I saved Lana and killed my dad -- just so she could die anyways?"
Didja know it's now been 2 full seasons since Lois arrived. And nothing has happened with her. It's also been 5 seasons since Clark "flew" into the tornado.. and nothing has happened. Talk about twisting in the wind. Is MM worse on Supermanville or on The Batman? The Batman was pretty bad. If we don't see him as green this week I may just say "screw it". I haven't missed an epi yet -- but COME ON!!!! Where is Lex's brother these days anyways? Poor Lucas.... -
Of Smallville doesn't include Ma Kent -- does she bite it?
Smallville Stays On Thursdays For Season 7; New Cast Member Added To The Roster
The CW has officially announced their Fall 2007 schedule, and another season of Smallville. is in the plans.
They have also released a write-up promoting the new season; if you read closely you may get a hint as to who is leaving the show. Also on the cast list for Season 7 is a new addition.
Fans should be happy that certain people ARE on the cast list, as well.
Here's that write-up:
Returning for its seventh season, this new interpretation of the enduring Superman mythology and its classic characters blends realism and adventure into an exciting action series. Fourteen years ago, a meteor shower burst from the heavens, raining destruction on the unsuspecting citizens of Smallville, Kansas. From the ashes of tragedy, emerged Clark Kent. Struggling to come to grips with his emerging superpowers, while battling the strange events that have plagued this idyllic Midwest hamlet since the meteor shower, Clark slowly learns to embrace his destiny. SMALLVILLE chronicles Clark's journey toward becoming the Man of Steel and his relationships with girl-next-door Lana Lang, future love Lois Lane and soon-to-be arch-nemesis Lex Luthor.
The series stars Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang, Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor, Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan, John Glover as Lionel Luther and Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen. Reinterpreting the Superman mythology from its roots, SMALLVILLE was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar ("Shanghai Noon," "Spiderman 2"), based on the DC Comics characters. Gough and Millar serve as executive producers, along with Ken Horton, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins, Joe Davola, Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson and Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions, Millar/Gough Ink and Warner Bros. Television. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster.
-
Pa Kent, John Glover, and Michael Rosenbaum are the only people on that show who know how to act.
-
talk about crazy!
-
episodes ever is from the first season. Diversity Day ie EASILY in the top 5, and may very well be the best Office episode ever. If you just watched the first ep and then never watched again, you should watch DD and see if that doesn't instill some faith in the series for you.
-
Never watched Buffy, but that guy was less entertaining on Supermanville that that floating sack from American Beauty. He musta done something "really awesome" on that crapfest to make him so popular. Unless Buffyverse fans are really that clueless. Personally I thought of about 20 "G" list actors that could have at least brought a presence to that role of brainiac.
-
DD sucked. That was officially the first of the "forced" episodes. This includes the suicide and the house inspection. Where things go too over the top to exist in reality. The show is at it's best when it's a very dark gray.
-
THIS THREAD IS NOW SMALLVILLE-JACKED. WHERE IS SHERMDAWG!!!
-
The island is in the Phantom Zone. It happened after Pa Kent died.
-
for Season 4. This is per www.people.com.

I'm sure her husband will do just fine.
-
Last Week was weak....
-
"Thursday the ax fell on "Veronica Mars," which starred Kristen Bell as a wisecracking teenage private eye." *
Wow... everything is getting cancelled this year... except half-assed, used up shows like ER.
*AP story...
-
wrong TB...
I must be a bit skewed from the whole LOST debacle... -
"You and I are done."
-
I was looking forward to it.
-
Sherm, I liked that episode, too. However, it was almost identical to the Buffy ep "Normal Again". Really, really similar stories. I think the execution of the Buffy one was much better, though. You are right... the end of "Labyrinth" left much to be desired, but the bulk of the story was good, perhaps the best this season (not saying much...) I would blame DeKnight, but he didn't write that one to the best of my knowledge. Oh hell, I'll blame him anyway. DAMN YOU, STEVEN S. DEKNIGHT!!!
-
...he also asked Ryan about the Dharma initiative in that episode where he was testing him. I know they filmed two Office endings involving what happens to Karen, does the fact she's part of the cast for some midseason replacement on Fox affect what happens to Jones character.
-
...and an Office talkback broke out. Wait a minute...
-
Six great moments in a 30/40 minute sitcom and that rates as weak? You're measuring that against what now? Unless you were being sarcastic. In which case I'll shut up now.
-
So glad I didn't read any spoilers!
-
another brilliant episode of the office... "Secret Assistant to the Regional Manager"
-
This was a perfect ending to a so-so ending. I actually threw my arms up and cheered when Jim asked Pam out on a date. It felt great to finally see those two on the same page. The Temp being Michael's boss next season...brilliant. I hope everyone enjoyed this show as much as I did. Peace.
-
DD rocked. If you think some episodes are not "over the top" i'd like to know which ones you think that's the case. The mere fact this group of people are gathered together in one office, and manage to somehow not burn the place to the ground, makes it "over the top." The Micheal Scott character, does not exist in reality, neither does Dwight Schrute. Either one of those two characters IRL would be fired in 2 seconds.
-
Ryan gets the job and escapes Kelly's clutches. I didn't see that coming. I really thought Karen would get it. But I really don't like what they did with Jan this season. She always seemed smart and competent with the exception of not firing Michael, and then they made her stupid enough to not only date him, but to publicly date him? I thought that was way out of character and now they've made her just plain nuts all of a sudden. Does anyone know if she's off the show or will she be back as Michael's girlfriend next year? I figure the actress wanted off because of what they've done to her character. And by the way, do you think she got breast implants in real life? I never noticed if they were small before and thought it was weird when Michael was making fun of her "shrunken chesticles" a couple of episodes back. Anyway, I thought tonight was pretty decent after several mostly unfunny ones with a few scattered chuckles lately.
-
I couldn't get the URL down fast enough. If it isn't real, they have to create it. And yes, obviously the show is over the top. Hence the term sitcom. If they showed a day in the life of a realistic office, it would be boring as shit. The exaggerations are where the funny is. But then within in the exaggerations, they slip in some moments of truth that a lot of people can relate to. Shrute Bucks for instance, gave me a major flashback to a shithole where I used to work, and Stanley's reaction basically telling Dwight to shove his Shrute bucks up his ass literally made me pump my fist at the TV.
-
that has very little to do with The Office. http://tinyurl.com/2gbhsz
-
...but also based in reality enough that you know people that are like the characters on the show so you can relate. That's why it works.
-
Karen sucks, pam's real tits are awesome (Everyone needs to rent her short film "lolly love" which I don't think I've ever read about here on AICN), jim's new haircut was hilarious, creed's blog in the word doc was just nuts, jan's fake tits or should I say wonder or water bra was luscious, and finally the ending, and I mean the final 30 seconds ending, was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
-
between The Office, 30 Rock and Heroes... what is wrong with the country? this is television at its best.
-
My god I am on cloud 9.
-
a decent episode with a fantastic payoff. It looks like they are trying to blow up next season, hopefully to syndicate, but also I get the feeling they probably won't be able to contain the cast for more than another season or two, so it also sounds like a last hurrah. So what direction will things go next season? Will Michael get fired like David Brent did? Will they start to focus on life after the "documentary" has started to air?
-
I can't believe nobody's even mentioned that yet. And Ryan's last line was perfect. Of course, Jim's reaction to Pam's note and medal from the "Office Olympics" episode, as well as him entering the boardroom during her aside, and her teared-up reaction was pretty danged sweet too. Between this and "Heroes", there's some good tube to be had.
-
Jenna Fischer fell down some stairs and broke her back in 4 places... Luckily there was no spinal damage and she'll make a full recovery. But damn... things like that shouldn't happen to sweet, sweet Pam!
-
I can understand if Novak wants to focus on writing/producing, but hopefully he'll pop in evry few episodes like Jan did, if only for the great transition from him being a temp, to him now being Michael's boss. I love how efficient Dwight was making things, and how everyone actually seemed to be somewhat happy, only to have Michael tear it all down. I have no problem with Jim and Pam being together, as long as it's not the focus of the show. The same applies with Creed. He's fantastic, but base an episode around him, and it's going to be too much.
-
Jim and Pam never get together in real life. Not with engagements and other girlfriends and all that other stuff in the way. True love is a lie foisted on you by the networks.
Stupid suits.
Sorry... it was just such a beautiful ending. I'm still kinda choked up. My life is very sad. -
Shrute bucks.
-
First, the thing with Jan last night was really jarring. I've always liked her character...until last night. That didn't ring true.
The link above is bs. Here's the Creed's thoughts:
http://blog.nbc.com/CreedThoughts/2007/05/13-week/ -
Seriously, every time they showed her from the waist up, her belly was hanging over her pants like a cute little Buddha.
-
Time Warner Cable Sucks Balls Time Warner Cable Sucks Balls Time Warner Cable Sucks Balls Time Warner Cable Sucks Balls Time Warner Cable Sucks Balls Time Warner Cable Sucks Balls Time Warner Cable Sucks Balls
-
So my cable went bonkers last night. All my DVR recorded was pixeled garbage. Anyone know if Dish or DirecTV performs better? Anyone?
-
classic. what a great show
-
Hopefully Novak will focus on behind the scenes--I hate that character. I was nervous about Pam and Jim getting together (it's the Daphne and Niles syndrome...they get together and the humor drops considerably), but I feel like there are so many other things going on in the show, it won't matter. The show isn't about Pam and Jim, it's about everyone in the office, so I really feel like they can do some of the great things from seasons 1 and 2 with Pam and Jim NEXT season. They can be dating, but still be friends, pull pranks on Dwight, etc. I feel like getting rid of a few characters is going to be a good thing...the dynamic changed with the new people in the office, and it didn't always work for me. I'm looing forward to Season 4...I wanna see how they're gonna handle this.
-
not "looing" forward

Dude, yes, Time Warner Cable sucked so bad when they took over. Then I moved to a new area where they weren't available, got DirecTV through ATT, and they're even worse. Goddamn, isn't this the 2007, and this is what cable/satellite technology is still like? My VCR is more reliable than this crap. I'm just waiting for ATT's Uverse to become available where I live. It's my last, best hope. Oh, and as a sidenote, you know there are ad groups lobbying to keep you from being able to fast forward through commercials on your DVR? Fuck it, when that happens, I WILL go back to my VCR...

They've made all these hints through the series about Michael Scott's awful childhood (the Fundle Bundle clip, the video from his Mom's wedding) and about his sinister stepdad Jeff...
I dunno, with his behaviour, I have this weird feeling that they're eventually going to reveal that Michael's a victim of child abuse. It makes pathetic sense, and also makes him a perfect match for Jan. With the finale's "for the last two years, Jan" comment, that made sense to me because that was when she went through her awful divorce and identity theft fiasco - Crazy Jan and Abused Michael are the perfect couple.
I'm just wondering how they're going to play that for laughs. -
Although this was a great episode, and I have to disagree with the above post about Jim and Pam, the very end was disappointing.
How can this be? Ryan has never made a sale! He has no experience. It was funny the way he reacted, but there is just no way he would ever have been able to get that position. So that was kind of lame. Still my favorite show! Rock On!

I wouldn't mind seeing more glimpses of the home life of these characters, particularly their families. I don't know about you but I wouldn't mind seeing what kind of people would raise Michael or even Dwight. I mean was Michael an only child? And wouldn't it be a hilarious twist if Dwight's parents, assuming they're still alive, were actually normal people and Dwight and Cousin Mose are the freaks? Seeing these little glimpses has worked before. I mean, Meredith's driving ettiquette was pretty appropriate for her character.
Also, Pam and Jim together. Now please don't make me hate them. -
does anybody think that Elliot and J.D. are a bunch of assholes as well?
Great ending for both shows, however. Solid block of comedy. Not to mention I unassumingly finished the night with a rerun of the Wonder Years where Winny gets in a car accident and Kevin climbs up to her window and mouths "I love you" to Bob Seger playing in the background. How fitting is that? -
You are completely right. By this time in the show, Pam comes across as the wishy washy homewrecker - it's too late to root for Jim and Pam to get together, now that Karen has entered the picture, and gave Jim no grief. Jim dumping her like that comes off as more selfish than in the right. The show destroyed any real hopes viewers had of Jim and Pam getting together ever since they brought in Karen and made her so sympathetic. The ending with Ryan was a "gotcha" twist ending that was improperly set up.

Jim and Pam are in love. They've always been in love. Roy and Karen couldn't change that. They had to get together in the perfect fake TV world.
I want an invitation to the wedding. -
How coem Jack's got a new"Simon Cowell"hairstyle? (Please imagine I posted this in a "LOST" talkback....

Office was excellent last night. Loved it. The Jan stuff was almost over the top -- but near perfect for this show.
Smallville sucked balls. Healing tears? When is Clark going to run really fast around the planet over and over and turn back time? I might skip the next season. -
Because it hadn't grown a bit for 90 days. It was time. :)

where an idiot with an MBA and no experience or clue as to the specifics of the industry came in and was immediately telling people with years of experience and success what to do. She was eventually fired, but the person that hired her didn't want to admit to a mistake, so she stayed around a LONG time, racking up an impresive string of embarrassing failures and missed deadlines. I've also seen implosions eerily similar to Jan's.
-
I think they've done a decent job of having enough Jim/Pam chemistry for me to accept they would be good together, but they've made both of them be jerks to other people who didn't deserve it, and that makes them hard to root for, which should not happen.
