Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.
When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

Quint here with El Chivo's newest Toronto article, covering Ed Harris' Western APPALOOSA, City of God's director Fernando Meirelles' flick BLINDNESS, the LeBron James doc MORE THAN A GAME, Danish kill them Nazis good WW2 resistance film FLAME & CITRON and Ramin Bahrani's GOODBYE SOLO, which is a surprise Star Wars film that takes place between EMPIRE and JEDI. Oh, sorry... Just read the review and it's a drama about a cab driver in North Carolina. Nevermind.

Hey folks, Harry here... It seems that Michael Moore has an inspirational film about getting disaffected youth, that perhaps feel that neither party makes a difference, that voting is insignificant when the possiblility of electronic fraud could happen... you get the idea - he's trying to get those folks to get up and vote. Obviously he supports Obama. But the message is valid for just about everyone - young or old that is thinking about not voting. All of us need to be registered to vote, but then... when it comes time, we need to follow up and vote.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've already begun my Fantastic Fest scheduling and one of the flicks that caught my eye was DEADGIRL. Seemed interesting and after reading the below review from El Giante I'm even more psyched to see it. Comparing the flick to TEETH is enough for me. I loved TEETH... in fact, I need to pick up that DVD... Anyway, here's El Giante with his full review!

Hey folks, Harry here... It's a rare thing these days to talk about the passing of a Silent Film and Early Talkie Star - but ANITA PAGE has moved on at the age of 98. She was first on screen in 1925 - and her last part is in FRANKENSTEIN RISING - due out... THIS YEAR! She plays Elizabeth Frankenstein.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with another review from the great white north. This time we have the thriller VINYAN starring Rufus Sewell. I remember catching wind of this via Todd's International Eye Candy Column and the review that Giante wrote actually gets me excited to see it. I kinda like those reviews that throw down the gauntlet. You're either going to buy into the movie and love it or you'll hate it. Can't wait to see what side I fall on. Enjoy the review!

Quint here with another report out of Toronto, this time from Art Snob who has a look at three flicks, including Guy Ritchie's ROCKNROLLA and Ed Harris' western APPALOOSA, which I'm very much looking forward to. Especially after reading Art Snob's ROCKNROLLA review! And even though he doesn't give a full recommendation for APPALOOSA, it sounds like the kind of flick that's right up my alley.

I’m organizing another trip out to LA at the moment… got some interesting things to hit up, some more BOLT coverage and I’m hitting the Saturday, September 13th performance of THE FLY OPERA, directed by David Cronenberg with music and lyrics by Howard Shore… It’s gonna be awesome! At least it better be for the price I’m paying for tickets.

Her review is definitely positive, but not as enthusiastic as Anton's. Gene Simmons sounds like he makes this movie with his appearance. Fun is all I ask for in a movie like this.
