NBC Sticking With SCRUBS!!

Published at:  May 11, 2007 9:05:14 PM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

A reliable and tested source just told us NBC is picking up 18 new episodes of “Scrubs” for next season.

Apparently the sitcom got renewed later than "The Office," "30 Rock" and "My Name Is Earl" because Disney and NBC were dickering over money.

NBC will help compensate for the short "Scrubs" order with more "Office." E! Online reported late Thursday that four of "The Office's" 24 episodes next season will be full hours.

NBC announces its fall slate Monday. Zack Braff hosts the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” the following weekend.

The last few episodes of this show have been kind of dragging. Don't get me wrong, I loved Dr. Toilet and Janitor as the chief of medicine last night, but JD's story is really starting to drag. "I love Elliot, I love this other girl!" Thanks dude, we covered all that in the first three seasons.

Braff is getting alot of coin to do the next season--so, the show probably isn't as profitable as it used to be.

Best idea ever! The episodes are too short! Why can't a comedy show be one hour! It should always be an hour! I hate comedies but I have never laughed as hard at a show.

This show is terrible. I haven't had cable for a few months but somehow this damn show is on all 5 channels I get, so I've been forced to watch it and it Sux! The office though makes me LOL evertime I watch it.

And did anyone see the MadTV spoof of Scrubs (best fitting name of any tv show ever btw) it was spot on.

means that you havn't watche the Metrosexual ep of South Park where Ms Garrison asks Chef what to do when someone outside the circle starts to use your slang.

In the house to in the hizzle to for shizzle blah blah.

    FO SHO.

Enjoy your 'turd in the puchbowl' I liked that.

And even though Madtv has overstayed its welcome and as a Scrubs fan. If you saw the sketch you would think it's a real episode.

It's one of those shows I found in syndication this year. It's a good, lighthearted show that makes fun of everything without being mean. Of course I have no idea when the first run episodes are on, way to promote your product guys.

    by oisin5199

Now granted, I haven't seen this recent season, but Scrubs is a gem in the shitpile that is television sitcoms. It's one of the few shows besides Sports Night and MASH that could turn from brilliant comedy to brilliant drama and back again, on a freakin' dime. I'm glad it will get one more season.

    by ringwearer9

What a fucking annoying show. What is wrong with you people? It's like watching Tiny Toons set in a hospital. Designed for people who can't handle any scene that lasts longer than a 30 second commercial. Scrubs is pure Vileness.

    Scrubs & the Office

    by corvette63

Both are becoming parodies of themselves. With Scrubs it's a bit more acceptable b/c of the humor on the show but the Office is starting to just seem stupid. Michael Scott is so exaggerated now that he's no longer funny. That last episode was the worst of all the Offices so far.

    Scrubs would be OK

    by dataset

At the end of the lineup. Earl Office Rock Scrubs. That way I can go do something else when Scrubs comes on. I watched some Scrubs back when it was Earl Office Scrubs Rock just because I was lazy and didn't want to get stuck in an hour-long just to have to switch back to NBC. It isn't the worst sitcom ever. It reminds me a little of Dream On or Herman's Head. Neither of which I liked. They weren't bad, just...meh.

The funny thing about Scrubs that most people don't get

    by mustang_dvs

Ask anyone who's ever worked in a hospital which current medical show is the most realistic, and 9 out of 10 of them will tell you it's Scrubs...That's right, the wacky, zany, deliriously off the wall comedy has more realistic medical procedures and doctor/nurse characters than House, ER and (especially) Grey's Anatomy.House is set in a world devoid of nurses, where super doctors have no fear of airborne diseases, extremely painful procedures are done without anesthetic, doctors drug each other and hugely expensive medical equipment is always available.ER has more orderlies than nurses, the doctors are all severely psychologically scarred and their hospital must be located in the middle of a war zone in the middle of the bermuda triangle (planes crashing into each other crashing into the hospital, helicopters falling on doctors, etc).Grey's has interns sleeping with residents and attendings and not getting fired, interns killing people and not going to jail, interns performing surgery, dead people coming back to life after 3-4 hours in vfib, did I mention interns intentionally killing people and not going to jail?Sure Scrubs is goofy and the characters are basically caricatures, but it's closer to real life than any hospital show that isn't on Discovery Health (and it's far more entertaining than that channel).

Apparently it's a great pastime to just go around saying everything sucks with no coherent reason or logic. Wahhh. Wahhh. I don't like it! I don't like him! Flinging it all over the floor to get attention. Go play while the adults talk awhile...SCRUBS is well written, hilarious, with nutty characters you still can't help rooting for. Very clever with their fantasy sequences. And sometimes heart felt. On a deeper level the wackiness is a way of dealing with losing patients having to make daily life and death decisions. It really is special. But best for last... the hottest collection of girl next door blondes to grace a series. What's not to like? And it's not like Braff's movie career is going anywhere after GARDEN STATE.

    by onehate

He or Black He will not let David Cross belittle himself by being on this show again.

David knows what comedy is and ummm Scrubs sucks the pubic hair not from the balls, but from the taint, and not just the taint but the inner taint, you gotta get up in Bob's (UHF's) cheeks to get to that taint hair. Why oh why did the dude from UHF ever do this fuckkkkn show? Steroid bills that's why.
