    by modlight

I mean seriously. If you're not with family, at a bbq, drinking, at fire-works, watching baseball or at the movies I'm sure you're gonna watch this... This was a good show that would've been greatly helped by better production values. Oh well.

I know we had our disagreement on Andy Barker, but you and I are locked in on this one. I really enjoyed Drive. It was a guilty pleasure show. That scene where Alex passes everyone in his 1970 challenger was a pure kick ass moment. Show at least deserved the post American Idol timeslot to improve its audience sans "Til Death".

Why does FOX hate Nathan Fillion?!?!?!

    by whoopdeedoo

Seriously what did the guy ever do to them? First Firefly gets the scheduling dildo to its shiny ass before it gets cancelled and now Drive gets run over before it even has a chance to build an audience. What fucking cheapass dimestore crack are they smoking in the FOX offices?

isn't all that fond of "Bones".Good to see we will get a few more episodes of "Drive". Too bad Fox never had any faith in it. Had they released it over the summer, when there is really nothing else one,it may have been more successful. Or maybe if they had put the first 10 minutes online a few weeks before it aired to get people psyched fo it it might have done better. Or maybe if they had given it more time to find an audience it could have done better. It's that last point that has me convinced Fox was never going to give it a chance. The 2-hour premiere aired Sunday night, the next episode on Monday night, the next episode the following Monday, and it was cancelled by Wednesday. So, within 10 days of its premiere, it's gone. Fox said part of the problem was they lost around 1 million viewers in the second hour of the premiere. Really??? They were surprised that the audience changed the channel to watch Desperate Housewives or the return of The Sopranos? Shocking! If they could not have anticipated that then Fox execs are even dumber than we all thought.

Everyone wants to know about the missing Lost recap article, review, ratings and talk-back. 1.) There were already a couple of threads with Lost references in the title this week, so all but the most fanatic talk-backers are chatted out. 2.) Hercules is working on deadline and has to get though all those "most memorable moments of the 2006-007 season" comments - including the rude, off topic or jokey ones - in order to get his critics ballot in. These people have to take their jobs seriously so we will take them seriously, after all. 3.) Heroes totally pwned Lost in the talk-backs. Did I use that right? "Pwned"? That's supposed to be like a typo because the p is next to the o and talk-backers don't always proof read there posts, right? (See how I misspelled "their" for there? to provide an example of someone not proofreading? In comedy timing is

    by mikehuntsbloody

I never start to watch a show from Pilot episode... the show takes time to build up the plotline, characters etc.. Better to wait atleast till the 5th - 6th episode and watch them all together.. and then decide if its worthed or not.. However, Heroes was a different story!

Part of me can't blame Fox

    by tvguy4566

They did promote the hell out of this show before it premiered. Much like Studio 60, I cannot really blame a studio for losing faith in a series after they spend more their average amount of promotional time to launch a series and then it falls far short of expectations. It is hard to expect a lot of people to pick up a serialized drama a half a dozen episodes into the season. That is one of the problems with shows like Drive, if you don't get the audience right off the bat, it is near impossible to add new ones unless they become an instant hit like Lost, 24, Prison Break, or Heroes. Only buzz worthy serialized dramas usually pick up more viewers. I didn't hear a lot of buzz about Drive and it received mixed reviews. I wished they gave Drive more of a chance, but odds are no how many more episodes they gave them this show was DOA.

Run out of House episodes to rerun??Why not just shoot it in the head and put it out of its misery..then put out the DVD set. They gave The Inside more of a chance two years ago.

Fuck Fox -- I'll be at TRANSFORMERS instead

    by triumph poops!

For crying out loud, could Fox have picked a better date to just piss all over the still warm carcas of this thing to demonstrate their hate for DRIVE? I mean, seriously, come on. On July 4th you're either going to be barbecuing and partying with friends or by evening's time to get out of the house and have some fun you'll be at TRANSFORMERS like a zillion other people. Good thing I have TIVO since I already know that's where I'll be for sure. Then again the July 4th date makes perfect sense to Fox. The Fox programming geniuses -- rocket scientists that they are -- obviously believe few people will be watching TV that night, hence it's the perfect time to burn these 2 episodes off. Because you know, Heaven forbid Fox "wastes" any of their other "valuable" airtime to show these things. Because as we all know, Fox has SOOOOO many other hit shows it needs the air time for!FUCK YOU FOX FOR ONCE AGAIN PROVING WHAT BRAIN DEAD RETARDS YOU HAVE WORKING FOR YOU.

    by omarthesnake

for the murders of tons of great shows, I can't blame them here. They really did try to promote Drive. They promoted the hell out of it. And no one came. It's a business, not a charity, they aren't obliged to tank in the ratings just to make half a dozen fanboys happy. The fact they're even showing the last eps, considering the misssserable ratings the show got, is commendable.
But they do suck for murdering lots of other shows they didnt promote - Firefly, Greg, Andy Richter, Profit, Brisco County....

    by bigbaldpapa

That is on TV right now. Now, I can't say about longevity and if it couold be good for more than a season. But at the least it could use a full season to tell it's story.

I think it is a MUCH better effort than a lot of the crap that somehow still has timeslots.

They should have called it Drive-In

    by napoleon park

and made it two unrelated 18 minute series with 8 minutes of fake ads and coming attractions in the middle, and than opened it on a holiday weekend. That trick always works. *** Because mocking Grindhouse's surprisingly underwhelming opening weekend just never gets old. [Actually I just remembered that trick does sometimes work. It's called "Law" and "Order".]
