For Lucas parodies, I'll stick to Hardware Wars or any of the last three films.

You ever play a video game? Seen Shrek? Then you've watched a cartoon, ie, animation. You must be a little kid. Or gay.

    I miss my drugs...

    by napoleon park

...but that bowl was cooked back in the start of the '80s. On [adult swim] I really like Venture Brothers and kind of enjoy Frisky Dingo and Moral Orel. I don't hate anime, I simply lack interest. And most of the original [adult swim] programming these days is that "bad underground comix" and "sloppy psychedlic jam band" and "dissonant jazz/rock fusion" type of material directed at stoners, where being high actually enjoys your enjoyment... but, conversely, trying to get into it straight leaves you going WTF? *** Innovative and clever (Tom Goes To The Mayor's animated faded photo-copy look) or cheesy and weird (Saul of the Mole People's low budget Saturday morning kids show parody look) is fun, not not when you go out of your way to be ugly and unpleasant. The first episode of "12 Oz. Mouse" I saw gave me an acid flashback, but I never really needed to see it again. The first few seconds of Squidbillies left me not needing to see it again. *Yes, I'm not judging it from a few seconds - I saw a whole episode - more than one - but never again.) *** I imagine Spongebob Squarepants would also be hilarious if viewed stoned, but at least it has structure and story and makes sense and is mildly amusing for it's juvenile target audience. An old friend of mine has a son with Downs Syndrome and he loves Spongebob. Saying something is amusing to a retarded person isn't meant as an insult; if you can connect with that audience and make them laugh, then it's funny. *** Of course, [adult swim]'s non-original programs rule. Futurama is classic (though sometimes better, sometimes worse) and most Family Guys have a few good solid laughs, usually in the non sequitor flashback and cut-away gags. The plots, usually not so much, especially in the current season. If Fox offers {adult swim] "American Dad", they really ought to just say no thanx and pass. (And The Simpsons ought to contact a dedicated rerun station like Nick or TV Land and renegotiate their syndication deal so someone can run the entire series, from the start, straight through.)

    resized browser? really? (nardless)

    by napoleon park

That's what you've got to bitch about? It takes a couple of seconds and one mouse click to restore it to the original size. Why does this even register as an imposition? *** Being asked to upgrade to Quicktime 7.16. or whatever was a bit more time consuming - ironic that reinstalling something called "quick time" should take so long. But hey, critical vulnerability flaws, can't ignore that. *** It's getting old reading whiners gripe "I saw this news at such and such an obscure site three days/a week ago". But, yeah, this was pretty much the same clip I saw yesterday linked to from Peter David's blog. *** I will say this. So many trailers and commercials SPOIL comedies by showing the funniest bits, so congratulations to whoever assembled this promo for having the taste and restraint to refrain from including any humorous material in it. Except for Obi kicking Luke, of course. Getting hit in the nards is always hilarious. If it was funny on "America's Funniest Home videos" fifteen years ago, then you know it's "Gold, Jerry, comedy gold!" (Of course if was funnier still in "Our Man Flint" back in 1967.) But this time it's funny not because a violent blow to the nards doesn't have any shock value left but because it was action dolls of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, and dolls don't even have nards. I mean, he even has the name Ken in his name, how nardless can you get?

acutally, is i saw GL in an elevator i would just ask why he killed off Darth Maul in the first movie and in such a horrible way. then, being the geek i am, would tell him how the rest of the movies would have benefited with Maul being the main sith apprentice and having Anakin kill him in the third movie, making his turn to the dark side more believable.

it doesn't bother anyone that the robot Chicken mascot as seen in the opening credits is actually a Zombie Cyborg Chicken like Marvel's Deathlok (well, except that Deathlok wasn't a chicken) and not actually a robot at all? Or is that the funny part?

    Who here...

    by gob adama

...Has seen the 'Robot Chicken' bit where the Emperor is on the phone with Vader after the first Death Star explosion?

It is easily one of THE funniest parodies this disappointed 'Star Wars' fan has ever seen.

Emperor Palpatine: What?... Oh, oh, JUST rebuild it?... Oh, real fucking original. And who's going to give me a loan, jackhole, you?... You got an ATM on that torso Light Brite? Now get your seven-foot-two asthmatic ass back here, or I'm going to tell everyone what a whiny bitch you were about Padama-may or Panda-Bear what whatever the hell her name is!...[covers receiver] Oh, Jeez, he's crying!

    by allpowerfulwizardofoz

Holy shit is that worth every fucking penny!!! I cannot believe how cheap it was. If you truly are a Spiderman fan that set is a must have. Best idea that Marvel has ever come up with for marketing their comic books and a great nod to the fans for them putting this out for archive purposes. I am truly pleased.
