Have You Seen The Nine Minutes Of RATATOUILLE Online? But Have You Seen It In HD?
Because if not, I highly recommend it.
This is pretty much the experience I had when I went up to see Brad Bird at Pixar last month. We sat in the editing room, and he talked to me about the film and showed me some footage. Both of the sequences you’ll see in this nine-minute peek at the film were scenes he showed me. I also some more stuff I’ll tell you about in an upcoming piece, but I’ll put it this way: if you aren’t sold after seeing those nine minutes, then just move on. RATATOUILLE isn’t for you. Personally, I look at this, particularly that HD version, and I am amazed at the level of artistry that Pixar has achieved these days. Looking at their growth from TOY STORY to now, it’s pretty astounding for only 12 years. This film has so much atmosphere, and it’s so different than anything they’ve tried before. I think that Remy is a great lead, too. Bird talked to me about how insane the concept of the film is – “a rat that wants to be a gourmet chef” – and how it was putting these total opposites together and making the audience eventually want it to succeed that he saw as the challenge on this film.
I can’t imagine looking at this nine-minute clip and not being excited about the film. Here’s what Disney sent over:
”I hope you enjoyed the 9 minutes of the film that debuted on Disney.com a couple days ago. I wanted to give you the opportunity to provide your readers with the HD links BEFORE they’ve been distributed wide. I’m sure you’ll agree that 9 minutes of a kick-ass movie doesn’t come around very often and being able to watch it in HD can’t be beat.

I was just so excited.

this is just building up to be a fantastic film. The animation quality in this is top notch. I'm really enjoying the podcasts too -- great cross-marketing overall.
-
Virtuoso animation is what comes to mind. That long sequence of the rat running through the kitchen is some of the best direction I've ever seen in animation. Flawless.
-
i am really looking forward to this movie.
-
Or not?
-
fracking a.
-
Links don't work. Fix 'em.

I said "wow" aloud a couple times. Once at the perfect sequence of Remy running through the kitchen, and then at how beautiful Notre Dame and the Seine looked (the shot somehow captured the unique feeling you get when you're actually there on the left bank). I can't wait for this one, it may be really special.
-
next generation aristocats.Pixar is starting to look amazing, or even more amazing. Bird a genius.
-
Anyone?
-
Love how Remy runs
-
It's not working for me outside the US, but other people seem to be able to see it.
-
It is simply put the most stunning 3d animation I have EVER seen. The moment the scene starts you fall in love with it, you instantly love the characters and it is as if you've been watching the flick for hours. I stopped watching after 1 minute or so because it's just to spoiler heavy and I want to wait till the cinema but damn this is gonna be sooooo gooood.
-
NOW!!!!
-
Hell yeah baby.
-
because it was so engaging and well animated that I didn't want it to end, and I didn't want to see it on my way to low-rez computer screen. Of course Pixar already had my admission fee, but it now does for sure.
-
IS not to wallow in audience winking ala FOX, Dreamworks....and just tell a great story. What a concept!!!
-
Whats so spectacular about it? Yea I loved Toy Story and the Incredibles...but a rat that wants to be a cook?
-
Shrek movies combined.
-
Its funny I just got my HDTV over a month ago and I watch all types of crap I've never wathced or had seen a million times before and My girlfriend said it was like John Stewert on Half baked. "you Ever look at the back of a $20 bill on weed". "You ever look at Ultraviolet on HD"
-
I'm not spending Dollar 1 on Disney until Pixar does the Incredibles 2
-
about this movie. I knew it was Brad Bird, Patton Oswalt & Pixar, so I had no doubt it would rock. But the trailers just hadn't grabbed me yet. Watching these clips confirms my faith!
-
I can't get the link to work, but Brad Bird kicked my ass with The Incredibles and the buzz on this rat movie is good. I guess I will keep any open mind that it may be good.
-
....please...wimper.
-
...several minutes of which included brad bird nattering on (i, too, couldn't get the HD link so i just went to disney.com), than i was sitting through 2.5 hours of spiderman 3.
-
Halfbreedqueen's link works, but you gotta delete the spaces out of it when you paste it into your browser. some stupid thing that AICN's forums do to long links, i've discovered.
-
Just fantastic. I loved the sound effects of his little feet running around on all the different surfaces in the kitchen. Brad Bird is a master of all things. Comedy, drama, action...there's nobody like him these days.
-
why? Anyone have a direct link?
-
This looks amazing!!!!
-
Fucking Amazing. Just what I needed tonight. Thanks for the link. Can't wait to see this when it comes out.
-
...it's a cartoon people. If you don't have kids then get a life!
-
I went from not giving 2 shits about some animated rat flick to circling the release date on my "ohfuckyes calendar". I love the chef thing.
-
Its now on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwrJjLDIj1w
-
that is really too small / distorted .. depending on your connection speed, go for the biggest version :) (I was impatient and went with the 170 MB large sized non-HD ...
This looks great ... can't wait to watch the whole movie. -
Is fill that sort of summer feel gap. It gave all the people who don't have access to the ocean and the beach the pleasure to see it. It was the perfect Summer movie. This seems like it would be better suited for November or December. It just seems to have that kind of holiday feel
-
Best film of the year, for sure. Brad Bird is an extraordinary director. See this clip, the perfection of the lighting, this glow of the reverberes by the Seine, just absolutely perfect. And you could almost smell garlic in that kitchen. Ce sera l'été de Ratatouille!
-
not interested in a rat cooking me dinner. shit is disgusting. also, the story seems very mundane considering the clever narratives Pixar has delivered in the past. Feels like a third rate story idea or a bad episode of tom and jerry...
-
Looks BY FAR the best offering of the summer, and I'm looking forward to a few others quite a bit.
-
I was amazed at the animation where Remy moved so perfectly like a rat - the way his body was so "soft" looking and how "light" and "nimble" he was when he moved. Surelt that's very hard to animate. The lighting is beautiful too! Suddenly I care about this movie and have renewed faith in Pixar. Cars just didn't do it for me…
-
That's right. Seen it in the theater as well as Pixar's next.
