Veronica Mars 3.16 FAQ
What’s it called?
“Un-American Graffiti.”
Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to John Enbom (“Mars, Bars,” “Papa’s Cabin”).
What does The CW say?
“Veronica (Kristen Bell) is hired by a Middle Eastern restaurant owner to find out who has been vandalizing their business with ethnic slurs. While investigating the case, Veronica and the restaurant owner are attacked in a drive-by shooting. When a drunk teenager stumbles from a bar and gets hit by a car, Keith (Enrico Colantoni) orders his deputies to conduct surprise ID checks in all the area bars. While doing his own surprise search, Keith catches Piz (Chris Lowell) and Wallace (Percy Daggs) using fake ID's provided by Veronica. Meanwhile, Logan (Jason Dohring) decides to throw a birthday party for Parker (Julie Gonzalo).”
The big news?
Principal Van Clemmons returns (if fleetingly).
The bigger news?
Veronica is hit during the drive-by shooting,.
What else is the CW not telling us?
The restaurant owner’s daughter, Amira, went to Neptune High with Veronica, and she looks a little like Eliza Dushku!
Are Veronica and Logan really done for good?
Never say never, but a telling photo of Logan and Parker turns up this week.
Piz and Veronica aren’t dating yet?
They are not. And Piz, much to Wallace’s dismay, is again caught pining for the tiny blonde ID forger.
What’s doing with Mac and Dick?
More shades of Willow Rosenberg. Mac’s taking long hikes with boyfriend Bronson, but a character we’ve met before also seems to catch her eye. Dick, meanwhile, has taken to trolling MySpace.
Is Mac dating Mr. Clemmons??
No.
What’s doing with Weevil?
Weevil gets the week off.
Is Michael Muhney (the late Sheriff Don Lamb) still in the opening titles?
He is in the screener we received. Which means nothing.
I thought these final episodes of the season were supposed to be stand-alones. This sounds like it furthers a lot of continuity?
The mysteries are stand-alones, but there’s still a gratifying amount of episode-to-episode continuity (as evidenced by tonight’s mystery plot ending about 75 percent into the episode’s run-time).
Any word yet on a fourth season?
“The network doesn't see it or hear our pitches for VM College or VM FBI until May 2," series mastermind Rob Thomas tells TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello. The CW announces its fall schedule May 17.
What’s great?
Veronica stepping up at Mars Investigations. Keith stepping up at the Balboa Country sheriff’s department. Mac’s taunting banter with new pal Logan and Logan behaving more than ever before like a human being. A hilarious homage to Tarantino (perhaps in recognition of former “Mars” regular Sydney Poitier’s role in “Death Proof”?). The many and cleverly crafted twists and turns. The lesbianism. “Well put, Ronald. We need firemen too.” “And he simply hates hate crimes!” “Keep up, Towelie.” “I remember the fisherman …” “I went all-in.” “I feel like I’ve stumbled into a Benny Hill sketch.” “It’s not the nudity; it’s my co-star.” “You’re smarter than that. Be a good person.” So much more.
What’s not so great?
The possibility that Rob Thomas may not be running a TV show next season torments my soul.
