MAGNETO does his thing and attracts David Goyer... boy must have been eating too much spinach!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I love the relationship between Magneto and Charles Xavier. It has always been a nice change from the typical hero/villain comic book rivalry, especially since their goals are similar, it's just how to achieve peace and security that they differ on. They've been described as a Malcolm X/Martin Luther King Jr. pairing in the past. That said, I think the idea of making a prequel about young Magneto and Young Xavier (Teacher's Assistant X? Student Teacher X?) is far from a sure thing. We've seen too many failures recently. It can still make a good movie, but the powers that be will have to be careful. The characters are rich enough to sustain it, but the casting is going to have to immaculate and the execution right on. David Goyer is being brought on to "develop the project," whatever that means. He could direct, but the trades don't make it sound like a sure thing. I'm assuming he's going to be re-writing Sheldon Turner's script. Goyer has a lot on his plate, with this and the Green Arrow flick. Hope he can focus on making this really kick ass... Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will not return to their roles, which is good news because that de-aging CG technique in X3 creeped me the fuck out. But who can live up to those great actors?
