'OUR BRAND IS CRISIS,' say Warner Bros and George Clooney!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Looks like Warner Bros and Smoke House (George Clooney's production company) have secured the rights to make a feature adaptation of a political documentary called OUR BRAND IS CRISIS, by Rachel Boynton. I haven't seen this doco, but it sounds fascinating. It's all about the 2002 Bolivian presidential election where one of the candidates, badly loosing, ended up hiring James Carville's political consulting firm who ended up "Americanizing" the election, bringing in smear campaigns and the touchstones of the American election system that ended up winning a victory for this candidate. Of course, things didn't work out well once he was in office and it all ended badly. It's possible that Clooney will direct and/or star, but the only thing for sure right now is that he's got the rights. He could very well just produce.
