nice interview Quint. Talia seems pretty, uh, intense. Maybe it's the subject matter.

I love any movie with albino pre-humans in it.

Can't they figure out a different title for this new movie? The asian actress was gorgeous. I'm in love with her. :)

Two intense chicks making movies; more power to 'em.

You also forgot to say "one of the surest ways to predict a box office disappointment." Sin City was an aberration, but, hey, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Rosario Dawson can't act. At least, she hasn't been good in anything I've ever seen her in. She is hot, though. I'll give you that. Then again, that simply adds her to the likes of Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johannsen and, well, I could go on all day. In fact, there's a challenge for you. Name me one hot young actress who can act her way out of a cosmetics bag. I'm drawing a blank.

Rachel McAdams. Maybe Isla Fisher. Um, Reese Witherspoon is a good actress, but she's not all that yummy.

This is SPARTA!

...more than one year before re-using a movie title. Even if it makes sense for the content. (Note that I avoided expressing this by saying "too soon!", which has long since worn out its welcome.) Oh, and Rachel McAdams is absolutely stunning. I find her the most beautiful actress in the world right now.

Natalie Portman? When she's not in a green screen room?

(which seems like every six months), I keep thinking it's the Jeff Long novel. I wish someone would make a movie out of that. The irony is that if someone did, they probably wouldn't call it the Descent.

I loved her in Beautiful Girls and, of course, The Professional. Then, she grew up, got hot and, apparently, forgot everything her acting coach ever taught her. What she did to George Lucas (or was it the other way around?) is unforgivable.

you are so right on. i don't understand how she keeps getting work. she takes wooden acting to a whole other level. but i have to give her mad props for riding the wave of her "professional" and "beautiful girls" successes this far.

One person's great thespian is another person's hack. That's why I will never talk about such things as scientific absolutes. There are so many variables. I will say this about Rosario Dawson, though: She has presence. When she's on the screen you can't help but be drawn to her. Dismissing her as simply a pretty face is unfair. Frankly, i think she has more charisma in her little finger than Natalie Portman has in her entire wooden body. Portman is beautiful, but BORING. Dawson's main problem is that her choice of roles hasn't really been huge challenges (at least the movies I have seen of her's). This sounds very interesting, though. As for other young actresses who are doing more than coasting on their looks? Two names for you: Jena Malone and Zooey Deschanel. Actresses by any standard.
April 19, 2007, 4:53 p.m. CST
Um yeah, that's called being hot. Jessica Alba has the same thing going for her. But I do like Jena Malone and Zooey Deschanel. Although they don't really fit the hot criteria. Not in my book anyway. Another one I just thought of is Rose Byrne. She was great in this indie film I saw called "The Dead Girl". And she's got the hotness angle covered, too.

That film was a mixture of Memento and Deliverance. The rape was easily the most brutal put on film. The horror of it definitely puts you in a vengeful state of mind. A film you will never forget.

I'm so way sick of the media's overindulgence in this travesty. They are all a legion of pigs wallowing in this filth.<P>Cho used a gun in each hand. What next? Allusion to John Woo?

until I saw Death Proof. Now i have respeck, yo. Don't compare her to Jessica Alba. About Jessica Alba's hotness, most latin girls look like that.

...i want Rosario. Speaking of Jessica Alba...she was uber hot in that DarkAngel thing but when hollywood called she did that what american actresses normaly do..she stopped eating. Look at her in the ff4 trailer..wtf. I want Rosario. Gawd.

That's because the version of 'Scent of a Woman' shown on TV is one that's been messed with by the powers at be so Martin Brest doesn't want his name attached. And its not completely unrelated, as the film is surely known as 'De Scent of a Vummen' in some places in the world.

Seems like when they've made a few films, hit or miss, they all seem to start production companies. To me it seems like a waste of money to have to start a business, hire a staff, and get movie deals in order to keep it all going. Then what happens when the star loses their star power? What then?
